We’re home and all is well
… except we left some of my courgette plants there :wallbanging:. Never mind …, we’ll go back in a couple of weeks.
Feet are up. OH is unpacking.

I hope you have a restful evening, @Dovefromabove.
It's been a gorgeous afternoon here, but am envious of your view, @Ergates.
May the rest of us have a moment or two to put our feet up, relax and enjoy this evening.

I hope the sun shines for you for the rest of your trip @Ergates.

We didn't eat out in the end. The bank shuts at 12 and we got there at 11.30. As we had just been in England where it's an hour behind it felt like 10.30 so we weren't hungry.

Instead we had a look round the huge DIY place, then a huge toy shop on the outskirts of town. I bought a present for my granddaughter who will soon be 7, other son's daughter. Then we went to the big food shop that sells an incredible choice of fruit, veg and cheese as well as meat, fish and other foods. We will have sea bream with asparagus and broad beans followed by mango tonight. I bought meals for a few days.

I've spent the afternoon preparing my tax return. Deadline is the 30th May. Seemed a good day to do it as it rained this afternoon. OH wanted to do some mowing but it was too wet.

Glad you are both home safely @Dovefromabove. Eek are the courgettes outside? They’ve got two chances suppose.

BBQ wafts in the air tonight - still about 20 degrees here so my washing and shed paint have dried nicely.

            Tidy.

@Ladybird4 the property manager is "decent" but have had some issues with her. We had in the beginning the owner of the company, then they hired her due to growth As I have supervised plenty of staff for over 40, I picked up right away some issues with her, anyway telling husband my assessment of her, he say, "oh no she's fine" (he has never had staff)
Finally about 3 months ago, he is seeing what I have seen. She is workable and tries, and so far have found her to be forth right with her mistakes. But, we have good Cleaners, so for these quick turn over, I know two cleaners will be assigned to get the job done, and done right. They have mentally inventoried our stuff hanging on the walls, decorations etc. And I have put in place a large inventory of replacement items should something break. We have a large locked cleaners storage room where things are. And simply in the kitchen cupboards I have things like 30 white platters, so if one breaks, not a big deal, got them for 50cents each. Lots of other things I have installed make cleaning easy for the cleaners also. Such as, no duvets, I use coverlets. Ok, later.

Happy Saturday everyone! It looks like it is going to be a wonderful weekend. There are mentions of more possible sightings of the Northern Lights so I will be listening to news casts and hoping!

Good morning @Ladybird4 and others. Overcast here, so no chance of seeing them down south.

Good morning @RowlandsCastle. There is just the faintest hint that the sun may break through here. The Aurora is not necessarily due this weekend - maybe this snippet is just a cunning ploy to get us to stay hooked to the weather forecasts for this week or longer!
More tomatoes to sort out today.

                      Good morning all :coffee1:
Nice to be back in our own bed. We sleep well at MIL’s but home is best.
It seems that the slugs or woodpigeons … possibly both, have attacked the runner beans … there’s hardly a leaf left intact! Some plants have no leaves! Ive applied some ‘organic’ slug pellets and put netting around to keep the pigeons off … please everyone cross your fingers :fingers crossed:
As for the courgettes … they’re under the table on MIL’s paved patio area … so protected from fierce sun or driving rain. MIL says she’ll seek advice from her gardener and do her best to keep them alive (but she’s a notorious plant killer) so WonkyWomble is setting some aside for me at Katie’s Garden where she works.
In other news I’ve got a bit of an ear infection… I do get them from time to time … they usually clear up on their own … more crossing of fingers needed. :fingers crossed:

                        Morning all.

Oh dear @Dovefromabove, your poor beans! You usually have such success with them. I hope your earache fizzles out.

Grey this morning but should be sunny this afternoon.

We are going to lunch with friends.

Good morning @Dovefromabove. Rough news about your beans but hopefully you still have plenty of time to get a good crop in once you get your plot pest proof. Hope that the ear infection clears up soon.
