I could not say enough good things about it. Each room decorated after a famous author, so if you can find the site that shows the rooms its awesome. My first stay there, stayed in Edgar A. Poe room, 2nd was in Harry Potter room. It is considered an Authors B&B. Sitting, family style for Breakfast produces lots of really interesting conversations at a more higher IQ level. Their extra cost dinner, is 5 courses, still cheap anyway, fresh homemade bread, big bowls of yummy pass around stuff, and no one is a stranger at the family style tables. They also have their own wine cellar, your invited to go down there and choose a bottle. I did early on got a glass to walk the beach with, later they brought it to my table for dinner. They sort of seem to know you from the get go, with an old fashioned focus on your needs. The windows face the ocean in the dinning room, whales can be seen . No TV in rooms, or phones, they invite folks to simply read a good book, or enjoy the rockers facing the ocean. In each room there are empty books where folks put their thoughts down about their stay, very interesting to read. Third floor is the library, with puffy chairs and decks to again view the ocean, hot tea and cider is offered, with yummy cookies at 4PM.
Between my first stay and 2nd, was about 10 years, unfortunately, it is on the west coast. But the town has grown up, its still cute, but more shops etc.
They also have a roaming cat.

One day, in one of my group homes, the exterminator guy came by, he did his usual spraying around in the basement etc. and setting mouse traps. So he comes up from the basement walks into the kitchen. I am sitting there with a few staff having a meeting. And he says to me, " you know you have a dead mouse in a trap in the basement" I said to him, and you left it there? He looks puzzled, (like guy that's your job--go get the mouse) So I said, get one of those used plastic grocery bags over there, and go back down get the mouse and put it in the trash can. SMH. Yes, he did it. After he left we all just busted out laughing. how dumb can you be, really.

Speaking of beans … it looks as if we’ll be eating our first picking of broad beans very soon. We’ll be having some of the bean tops steamed, with our roast lamb tomorrow yum

Yes @Ladybird4, I sowed my runner bean seeds into pots. Last year in the ground something ate most of them, or they rotted. Sown 3 varieties, more then I need.

Good morning all. Lovely and sunny Sunday morning. I'm enjoying in cup of tea and a few peaceful moments. Soon I'll have seven people in my house, and they will all stay for lunch. My pets are fed and sleeping again.
Wish you all a nice Sunday!

The last couple of years we've enjoyed the broad beans from the garden. No veg this year, except rocket.
I've not had time to be getting any veg planted. I'm more of a fruit grower and jam maker.
I must find the right place for a row of raspberry canes! There's nothing like a bowl of fresh raspberries, and clotted cream :hapydancsmil:

Good morning @RowlandsCastle. I do have to say and - prompted by @Dovefromabove's post too, that home grown broad beans are one of my most favourite vegetables. I remember my Dad growing them and I was always fascinated by the downy lining of the bean pods. Sadly, I do not have enough room in my garden to grow veggies.

                    Hi all

Beautiful day here, already had a coffee in the garden, now need to crack on with the ever growing list of jobs.
Sure I can hear Moira snoring, don’t tell her I said that.

                      Morning all.

We are going to a lunch picnic party. Forecast says cloudy but warm and no rain. We can use the village hall if it rains though.

Enjoy your lunch with your guests @Ante1.

Good morning on this bright, sunny morn- I hope it is where you are.
I was awake at 5am and by 6.30 I had watered all the pots around my garden! The birds were happy too as they were fed earlier than usual.
I still haven't planted my sweet peas (will be today, by hook or by crook) and have a fuchsia and one or two other things to repot. My tomatoes (just the two) are in their final pots are are now permanently outside, although I'm keeping an eye on the forecast.
Have a good Sunday, everyone and enjoy your time with family and friends. I'm on my own for much of today but there are lots of people who stop by my gate to chat as they go along.

                            Good morning all :coffee1:
It’s a beautiful sunny morning here and 16C .., I took a decision and left the tomatoes out all night in a cosy spot on the terrace. .
No more rodent noise so hopefully just the one had found it’s way into the house when we were away and all was quiet. It looked like a youngster just setting out in the world and setting up her own home.

Son is in his caravan at the moment but when I spoke to him yesterday he said when he’s been out in the garden for a late evening smoke he’s sometimes seen a mouse go into the base of the little greenhouse against the house wall where some gardening ‘stuff’ has been stored and left undisturbed since his accident … I remember him saying something but I didn’t really take it in at the time … OH has found a nest in there so a good clear out and re-siting is scheduled. It was only meant to be there temporarily but life stuff got in the way.

Supper will be a rolled breast of lamb we got from a farm shop near MIL … it looks very sweet and lean … I’m going to cook it in the slow cooker for a few hours then pop it in a hot oven with roast potatoes and carrots to crisp up the outside. I’ll skim the cooking juices from the slow cooker to make the gravy and there’ll be mint sauce of course. I know I said we’d have the bean tops today but I fancy having them with some bacon tomorrow and we bought a lovely spring cabbage from the same farm shop so we’ll have that.

Have a lovely day folks. :spinning:
