Tonight the slugs will be imbibing/marinating in Hog’s Back Tongham Tea … a sweet dark malty brew … let’s see what they think of that.

I'm sorry about your lupins @Topbird, so disappointing. Wretched muntjac, I hope they haven't got into our Norfolk garden. Roe deer have eaten some of my yellow roses here in France.

I've had a quiet day on the whole, dusted the sitting room, but then went to the big plant nursery and bought plants, on the purchases thread. They were open but it's a bank holiday today, the GC was shut. There were loads of people buying plants.

Please don't mention to them that yesterday afternoon we bottled up thirty+ bottles of homebrew beer or they'll be straight round to ours...

Dinner tonight consists of quiche - apparently garlic roasted broccoli and . . . . . vintage cheddar.

Do they just mean "old cheese"?

            Evening folks.

I meant to ask @Dovefromabove, or others, how often to replenish the beer for the traps??

Had pretty much a whole day pottering outside. I got grubby, achy and hot - just how we like it! I’ve scrubbed myself now and just awaiting chicken and salad flatbreads before settling down to watch some Chelsea. Anyone watching or going?

Afternoon everybody, I'm finding it difficult to keep up and remember all the posts on this thread so apologies for not mentioning/commenting on lots.
I'm rather cream-crackered now and flopped in my armchair with a cuppa.
This morning as it was dry and warm again (sorry for those who had rain/cold), I started work on the outside of our porch by mixing concrete and tried to lay a slope with a 'V' in the middle so that the rain which overflows the gutter runs out onto the lower paving, instead of seeping into the inside of the porch. Then I tackled the inside of the porch where there's a crack in the corner and filled that with mortar.
Finally I siliconed around the tiled floor/walls as my back up plan. Finished by 4 pm, back and wrists aching. I'm finding the cartridge guns difficult to operate as I don't have the strength in my hands anymore. Tomorrow's job is to wash down the inside lower half and paint a waterproof sealer on the stonework.

Good job I've got a back/shoulder massage booked in for tomorrow morning!

@AuntyRach :) our slug pubs have so many deceased customers each night that I’m having to empty them every morning (into the garden waste bin) and I’m refilling (two thirds full) in the late afternoon.

No sounds of traps snapping shut this evening so we’ll not inspect under the floorboards until the morning ….

Night night all … sweet dreams … :snooze:

Morning everyone. Another quiet day for us. Hubby went to town for his regular dose of cancer medication. I stayed home with Pixel, snuggled down under a rug.

A very good morning @PatE and all arriving soon. Last night it was a Cup Match in the quiz league I play in and we won that round. Who would have known that the round on 'Birds' would be our strongest and we won that particular round 10-0. We might not get much further in the Cup - you never know - but it was nice to make that win.

Good morning @Dovefromabove. Hopefully you have got rid of all the mice now. When I was in the GC yesterday I was right by the pest control section when the fire alarm went off and I don't know how effective this might be but there were some sachets of 'stuff' impregnated with peppermint oil. A brief read said that the scent of the oil 'breaks' up the pheremone trail left by the mice as they move about and it is a deterrent to move them on. These sachets can be hung safely in small spaces and a refresher spray was available too.

Morning all. Managed to find some time to read back through, but sorry I haven’t done my usual likes and comments. I’m sharing the wifi package on the ship with OH, so when it’s my turn, I’m usually catching up on emails to the family etc. OH was awake in the very early hours watching a beautiful sun rise, so he is still out for the count.
I’m having a lovely holiday, the weather in Norway has been wonderful, sunny but not too hot. Currently sailing along the southwest coast to spend the afternoon in Kristiansand. The scenery has been amazing, the photos don’t do it justice. Otherwise we seem to have been fairly busy doing nothing! Eating more than I should, but drinking less than I normally do, prices on the ship are enough to drive me teetotal, but I was allowed to bring a bottle of wine, so I did!

                            Here are a few photos
