Good morning @Ergates. Oh my goodness but your pictures are breathtakingly gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. The clarity of the light in all the pictures picks out the subtleties of the colours. I really feel as if I am 'there' - wishful thinking! :)

      Morning all.

Gosh @lizzie27 it sounds as though you are doing a builder's job! I hope it works.

      Well done @Ladybird4!

      Lovely photos @Ergates, thank you.

It's tipping with rain here, yet again. We could have done with some of it 2 years ago.

        Good morning all!

Windy and coolish but the sky is clear and the sun is bright.

@floralies I planted lettuces (rougette) at the end of February when I planted the salad onion plugs. I netted them against the pigeons who observe me daily!! No problem from slugs and snails. They survived and I am enjoying eating them and giving them away now. The slugs and snails don't seem interested in them - they prefer the lovely tender plants that I have recently planted. Probably, due to the drought conditions we have had here, when the rain came, so did the snail brigade and boy! were they hungry!! Out of 21 hot pepper plants, there are about 10 left! My resowing of butternut, courgette and cucumbers are at third leaf stage now but I fear it's a bit late for butternut. A kind friend came over yesterday with 10 more pepper plants. They are securely in my conservatory for the time being!!

Amazing photos @Ergates Won't hurt to drink less wine for a bit!! You'll enjoy it all the more when you get back home. Your photos remind me of Milford Sound in NZ!!

Thank you @steephill for your kind wishes.

        You're a very "handy" person @lizzie27 Bravo!

A bit of gardening this morning. The last of my spinach (which I also planted end February - can't go to the garden nursery for one thing!!) has gone to seed so I need to pull out and tidy that site up.

        Have a pleasant day everyone.

Do you remember that a week before going to MIL’s our tv started to misbehave, turning its own picture off every so often and needing to be left a while before turning on again?
Because we were going away we decided to leave it until we returned before getting a new one.
Then the first couple of nights we were back it continued to play up and we had quiet spells in the evening … the silver lining to this was that we were able to hear the mousey scamperings in the ceiling above the sofa.
Well … would you believe it … since we found the mice the tv has behaved impeccably! Do you think it was trying to tell us something?

Morning all. About to do a SM run and I'll pop to Aldi for some slug trap beer while I'm in town. Just had a text to say my prescription is ready to collect so, this pm, I'll go over to the neighbouring village and pick that up and I'll also visit the nursery which supplies the local councils with hanging baskets etc and pick up some pelargoniums to stick in the old chimney pots outside the front door. Might see if my friend wants a run out.

@Dovefromabove - those mice couldn't have been nibbling or peeing on any wiring or aerial cabling to the TV could they?

Pretty sure the mice hadn’t nibbled the tv cable … the actual tv and Virgin cables are intact, the socket worked fine when we plugged other things into it .., and it was only the picture that switched off … the sound worked fine … it’s just that we found by turning the tv off and leaving it a while then turning it back on again it’d work fine for another 40 mins or so. And if the mice had nibbled a wire why is it working fine now? :fingers crossed:

It’s a puzzle … I think the tv was trying to tell us something … and it’s not even a Smart tv!?!?! :loll:

Tuesday, 8am here. Temp. 65 degrees. Hope it does not get hotter.
Lovely pics @Ergates, awesome to see. Thanks.

Lots of garden stuff to get into today. Still have to winters' clean out the Gazebo and unbox the pillows, set up the inside, and get the fountain filled with water. Its like fixing up an entire room. Then I can go down there and have wine or coffee. And need to get to the garden place for annuals for pots.

Today is the chess club meeting, missed last week, just wanted to stay in my garden and do whatever instead of stopping, getting dressed/organized etc. Not sure of today going or not either. Maybe by noon I'll know. LOL.

@Tui34 , your veggie garden sounds lovely. I plant no veggie garden. Have lots of Amish about. And before I know it at the end of many driveways about me will be a box of some veggies and a sign "Free". My good neighbor will say to me, just come pick tomatoes anytime.

Well off to get into something. Have a grand day all.

Growing veg is a big headache for me @redstar. We go away too often to keep on top of watering and harvesting and the thlugs, voles and pigeons (and probably the muntjac) always seemed to regard my vegetable beds as their very own free buffet table.

Living in a very rural setting there are usually free (or very cheap) veggies available when keener gardeners get the usual gluts.

@Dovefromabove - your slugs aren't the only ones with a gourmet swimming pool. Went to Aldi and the cheapest stout-type offering was Guiness so they'll be enjoying a taste of Irish liquid gold. Might put a tin in the fridge for me as well!

@Ergates - meant to say earlier - lovely pics. Reminds why I like Norway so much. You're right about alcohol prices though - the 'health tax' is huge. It amazes me that pubs and bars stay in business over there. We were last there in 2019 when a pint of beer in a bar was just under £10 - very expensive compared with home. My liver didn't get a complete break but it did get a good rest that fortnight!
