@Punkdoc, well done on what you have achieved so far. You hang on in there.
@Goldenlily26, respect to all your family members for completing what sounds like a really tough endeavour.

Sunday. 71degrees. Looks like clear skies all day.
Did some garden stuff yesterday, more today. Just continue the odds and ends of keeping things tidy, cleaning, etc. A mixed bag of stuff.

The current guests at our Airbnb leave tomorrow at 11Am. And the guests that were there prior are returning till June 9th. Then we drive down June 9th. Takes us 8 hours to drive. Should see cotton fields blooming on the way. Probably said this before but there is a certain southern charm down there that happens, its sweet.

          Anyway, later.

I hope the withdrawal isn't too bad for you @Punkdoc, wishing you courage.

We have been to a wine festival in Auxerre, Burgundy.it was fun, by the river. You start by buying a wine glass which you put in a little bag that hangs in front of you, strap round back of neck. Then you go from stall to stall tasting different wines of the area, mostly Chablis. The one I liked best was 78€ a bottle, unfortunately! Most were much more reasonable. All the stall had price lists and order forms but you couldn't buy the wine there which took the pressure off.

There were also food stalls, some to buy, some free samples. Cheeses, patés, sandwiches in bread rolls or baguettes, chips, sausages, strawberries, cherries ice cream, macarons etc. There was a procession of Chevaliers of wine tasting.

Rumbles in the eastern distance but there’s enough blue sky in the west to make a sailor a pair of trousers :fingers crossed:

What we do, use a couple of stones to prop it up with a small one to stop it blowing off...

I shall experiment … I suspect j may end up buying a couple … OH gets a good discount :blue thumb:

Meanwhile I drove in the sunshine to pick him up from work … the roads were steaming and all looked well, until we pulled off the main road into the village .., it was as if someone had suddenly turned a power shower on! When we pulled onto the driveway we had to sit there and listen to some Stan Getz until the rain had slowed enough for us to dash to the porch! That didn’t last long … now we have more stair rods out of a sunny sky :dunno:
