I know that @Fire has had some serious health problems in the past, @Bluejayway @Busy-Lizzie , so I hope they haven't recurred. She's a really interesting person, and her posts are inspirational.

 

Sounds a good day to me @redstar, how long have you been playing chess?

 

It’s a cleaning the kitchen kind of day. I have made a wholemeal banana bread, as I had some over ripe bananas. I added some peanut butter choc chips for sweetness. Warm with a bit of butter is delightful! Any leftovers (OH not a big fan so should be something left) I will take to work tomorrow.

Just had a wonderful meal, rather full. Relaxing at home. I’m sorry to hear members recent news. Always difficult to attend. Hoping for better weather rather cool hear with rain. Wishing you a good evening and better news.

 

A quick read back, so sorry to hear of the sad and bad news. Commiserations to all going through difficult times.
After our wonderful holiday, we seem to have spent more time asleep than awake. OH’s cough seem to be much improved, and we are both weaning ourselves off the paracetamol now. The visiting dog is very elderly, so happy for a gentle 20 minute stroll round the block twice a day, which is about as much as I can manage. I did pop out yesterday and trimmed back the pieris hedge, which has generated quite a bit of greenery for the bin. Even managed to get a couple of loads of laundry done, although the unpacking isn’t finished yet. Oh well.

 

Started playing when I was about 16 years old. But truly do not play much. Actually when I discovered the local chess club a year ago, it had been about 40 years since I played . Today I won two games from two different folks.

Had a busy day emptying the kitchen diner (so much “stuff”, I really need to cull it when we put things back), in preparation for the decorator coming tomorrow to paint it. It is really ready for a freshen up.

I’ve made a few spiders homeless by moving furniture that usually stays put, (which they like to hide behind and spin their webs). My goodness, but those spiders make a mess. All cleaned up now, and a resolution to move the furniture more frequently.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your meal @Punkdoc. I’ve just taken a peek at the menus - they look rather special. Do tell us what you decided to try. I thought the tasting menu looked interesting.

 

You’ve echoed my thoughts @Blue arbour … I was just thinking about @Punkdoc and Moira and hoping they’re having a splendid time.

It looks as if new neighbours are moving in next door … hope they didn’t think we were bring nosey … we might have to get blinds for the landing window … the elderly chap who used to live there didn’t use the upstairs and we’ve never felt ‘overlooked’ but I suppose they might feel ‘overlooked’ if we have a totally unobstructed view of their landing … we shall see what sort of folk they are …

Good Morning everyone.

Early start for me today, and looks like I’ll miss a fairly dry and pleasant day, but coffee outside this morning is lovely. I’m looking at a blue sky, the moon lit by the morning sun, birds in the trees and the snails crawling home (after a night of gorging on my sweet peas no doubt!).

Hello there @AuntyRach. Its nice to read you have a lovely start to your day. Once again, may I thank you all for the messages of condolence about my friend. The funeral was a wonderful farewell to a super lady.

Good morning @Dovefromabove. It's drizzling here too and yesterday's forecast of a summer set for 50 days of rain (why did 50 Shades of Grey jump into my head? ) is not filling me with delight!

 

Good morning ladies & gentlemen.

The washing has been hung out, and I'm hoping the forecast showers will not materialise. My Icelandic poppies are flowering, and a corn marigold is just beginning to bloom; these things please me greatly.

Hope your new neighbours tun out to be nice people @Dovefromabove .

Perhaps Summer will be much more sun-kissed than the forecasters expect @Ladybird4 .

I am not sure about that forecast, usually they seem to get these things wrong but we shall see.
