Good afternoon everyone, we have been in the garden all morning sorting out pots, taking out bulbs and replacing with bedding etc.
The Toyota is in having a sevice and investigation of the air con which is loosing it's gas. The garage phoned to say service all done Mot checks all fine, BUT Air con needs a whole new condenser unit nigh on £500 just for the unit. I will be round with the begging bowl later.

Afternoon all. Bit of a mixed day - knocked the shower hose off its perch this morning and it split, unwanted plumbing problem to add to my own. New hose acquired and will fit it later when everything dries out.

Got an MRI scan appointment this morning and it is the same Sunday as my OH’s which was confirmed yesterday. There will be a couple of hours between our scans which is a nice opportunity for a lunch date somewhere nice.

The rain has started exactly on time according to the app. Just after I’d looked at the sky and decided it wasn’t going to happen so I’d been out and watered the courgettes and squashes :dunno:

We've had a lovely sunny warm day. I'm wearing a summer dress, first time this year I think.

My gardening guests spent some time looking at the garden and we all exchanged notes about our vegetable growing. The Open Garden man said my garden should be ready to open next year if I want to. Lots of tea and coffee was drunk and there is only a sausage roll and a bit of cake left. They liked my cheese scones. I was a bit worried as I thought they hadn't risen as much as usual.

Lunch between your scans sounds a good idea @steephill.

Signing out for this evening. Boiler engineer hasn't rung me back - maybe I'll hear something tomorrow. It has rained virtually all day here so - optimistically - I am hoping for better weather tomorrow. Good evening all.

Evening all. Just flying in to check everyone is ok? A mixture of life admins and goings on, it seems.

Just having a wind-down after work - I try to have an ‘early night’ on work days, but it seems like a waste of light in the Summer months.

                  Good morning all :coffee1:
Only 7C here, and it’s only going up to 14C … but the wind has dropped, it’s not raining, and the sun is shining
Yesterday evening it was like November, strong winds blowing the shrubs about and rain hammering on the windows!
                  My poor tomatoes.

Bread to make and a bit of admin this morning and then choir!

Have a lovely day folks. :)

                      Good morning all.

I was making coffee in the kitchen and I looked out of the window and saw a deer eating my Cornelia rose. I rushed out in my slippers and chased it out of the garden. I'd put an electric fence along the unfenced end of the garden but it jumped between the horizontal planks of the orchard fence at the other end where the yellow roses are. The yellow roses have been eaten a couple of times already. OH says he'll deal with reinforcements.

It's going to be another lovely sunny day today. We had dinner on the patio last night, first time this year. The birds are singing. I'm sure there are many more birds since I've made the garden

Morning all, fortunately it's sunny this morning with a slight breeze. We're going to carry on with the shed rescue and sorting out what's inside. I've just offered my brother his big pickaxe back - I don't think I'll ever be able to swing it again and he'll be glad of its return as he has paving slabs to lift. Realised we've got 4 stepladders so some of those can also go as well as sundry pieces of wood I've been hoarding. Wonder what else we'll find!

I wonder why the deer like yellow roses in particular @Busy-Lizzie, such a nuisance for you.
Glad your garden visit was successful and how nice to be invited to open your garden next year.
We really enjoyed doing it but acknowledged it was quite hard work and stressful so gave up several years ago.

@AuntyRach I thought it was decidedly chilly at 7.30 this morning, you must be a hardy person!

@Ladybird4 , hope your boiler man rings today.

@Dovefromabove , enjoy choir practice this afternoon.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing.

Good afternoon (nearly for you) everyone!!

Nice here. Sunny with a freshish breeze.

I must try and find some horse linament as per @redstar's advice. I use Tiger Balm or other Pain Balms that I bought whilst in India. They don't seem to do much. I can't take anti-inflammatories during the day as with the BP pill I take in the morning, it makes me fluffy headed!

Despite the handicap, I planted out the last of my hot peppers yesterday evening in the hope that the snail crew are well satiated after their last meal (here).

I mentioned in my post yesterday about interocular lenses basically because I don't see why medicals can't just cut to the chase and replace these body parts when they start degenerating. I'm not hot about having injections into my eyes!

That is chilly @Dovefromabove but at least you have sun! Sending some warm sun to you @Punkdoc would think twice about getting a dog though. Hope the french contingent are getting this lovely sunny weather @floralies, @Busy-Lizzie @Obelix-Vendée @Dordogne Damsel

I have a serious leak in one of the big polythene connectors that go from the bore to the garden. Jammed with limescale which I have treated with bicarb and white vinegar. I daren't try to unscrew the connector as my hands aint what they used to be and I might not be able to screw it back on again after putting on the teflon tape. So I have disconnected the bore. Which is a bore!! As I have to turn it on when I need to water.

So with that in mind I shall wish you all an enjoyable afternoon.

                            Wednesday , 68 degrees, just a little after 8AM.
Over caste now, suppose to rain. Just normal house stuff on my list. We are going to check out some counter top and flooring at a near by hard wear store later, for the airbnb. Same store name down there also.
                            Chess meeting--won one, lost one.
                            Take care all.
