@AuntyRach it does have a power saving mode but we’re used to that. This is different … just the picture switches off leaving the sound on. If we turn the tv off and on again sometimes the picture comes back for a while, but not always. And the periods of time the tv works properly gets shorter and shorter … then we give up until the next day when the tv is ok for about an hour then it starts playing up again.
We’ve been playing Scrabble this evening instead of watching Springwatch. I won … by a very narrow margin. I used a ‘Z’ with a triple word score!!!
Night night all. Sleep tight :snooze:

      Good morning all :coffee1:
It’s a lovely morning … wall to wall blue sky. I hope everyone’s had a restful night.
I’ve a trip to Suffolk planned today … but first I need to have my coffee and do Wordle etc …

Good morning all. Envious of your blue sky @Dovefromabove! Still, time for improvement here. Good heavens @lizzie27 that is a nightmare tale and it must have been so worrying.
@RowlandsCastle - wonderful picture! Thank you for sharing with us.
Off to Crewe this morning for lunch. We don't normally go so far for our monthly lunch out, but its only about an hours drive so I'll brace myself to face Madam 6! Not my most favourite road to drive on and at the moment it has a top speed limit of 50mph for part of the journey as 'smart' lanes are still being installed.
I hope that you all have a great day today - whatever you are busy with.

            Morning all.

That’s very annoying re the TV then Dove. My bedroom tv did similar and it was the LED lights in it burning out. OH replaces when they go but it involves a NASA style mission to get into tv innards and replace/solder them on etc!

Have a good day everyone- catch you later.

              Morning all.

I hope your BIL is feeling better today @lizzie27. Sounds as though he's being overdoing it at work.

Enjoy your lunch @Ladybird4. I hope it's as good as ours was yesterday.

Sounds as though your TV is on the way out @Dovefromabove, what an expensive nuisance.

We went to bed late again as we were watching the D Day ceremony that I recorded yesterday morning.

We are going to the weekly market. We'll have breakfast in a café. Then a friend is coming here to pick up my excess runner bean plants.

I really enjoyed the coverage of the D-Day celebrations @Busy-Lizzie though I do have to confess to crying through large parts. I love the Sunday markets in France and the beautiful displays of all the fresh fruits and vegetables on view. Enjoy your breakfast. Oh my goodness but I could just go some fresh baguette, comté cheese and torchon ham with tomatoes!

Disturbing news about the TV presenter Michael Mosley this morning - missing on holiday on a Greek island. I do hope he is found safe.

                    Morning all,

My best wishes to your Sister's Partner @lizzie27 .

                    Thank-you for kind words @Dovefromabove , @Busy-Lizzie & @Blue arbour .

                    Excellent photos @Bluejayway .

My Maternal Grandfather was in the Merchant Navy, and was present at both the Dunkirk evacaution and the D-Day landings. My Paternal Grandfather volunteered for the Royal Navy, but his eyesight was too bad to be accepted (a family failing), so he ended up commanding one of the anti-aircraft batteries defending Belfast. My Great Aunt was in the WReNS, where she met my Great Uncle, who was in the Fleet Air Arm.

The orthopaedics appointment yesterday was with a physiotherapist, not a spinal person. He (the physiotherapist) was adamant that my symptoms are coming from my brain, not my back, so he wants me to see a neurologist and get an MRI scan of my brain. I am happy to do both of those things, but I really, really think it is my back (although I didn't bother arguing with him). The symptoms are perfectly correlated with things which set off my back, and this perfect correlation has persisted for 5 or 6 years now.

The good news is that I was able to buy some liquid seaweed concentrate, and some liquid rose feed concentrate while I was there yesterday (happily there was a nearby garden centre). :)

This has probably occurred to you long, long ago @Punkdoc , but my GP told me that a few studies had found that omega 3 oils (found in oily fish) are sometimes beneficial for mental health. My best wishes anyway, I admire your strength greatly.

As @AuntyRach said, hopefully Dr. Michael Mosley (Medical Doctor, t.v. presenter, author) turns up safe.

About 90% cloud cover and feeling cold today.

Have a safe day out there ladies and gentlemen.

                      Good morning everyone!

Same weather here - overcast then some peeps of sun. Not your cool, but cool for here so after my 8am bike ride with dog, I hung out the washing and then got waylaid in the garden whilst it wasn't too hot. One thing led to another - and an hour and a half later!! I enjoyed myself, although I pay for it. I pulled up some very curly entwined carrots of which I have made a carrot salad for lunch.

@Ladybird4 I hope you have a nice lunch. I find I get a bit tearful at sad events too. Old age? but I am more emotional these days. Market day here for us too. The spring brings out lots of fresh artichokes, lettuces and salad onions.(Oignons de Lezignan) No "real" tomatoes yet. Another couple of weeks and the first of the "covered" toms will appear. Outdoor tomatoes are so much more tomatoey.

I take Omega 3 capsules daily @Badly_Maintained - advised by my opthamologist for AMD but I used to take a winter's course of Cod Liver Oil capsules. Pain, it seems, can be controlled by the mind. Ha! Try telling the experts that when bone on bone is rubbing!!

We are having another mosquito plague this year. They are persistent and sly. There are reports of tiger mosquitoes having been sighted too. Are you having the same problem in the UK?

Quite a few years ago, we would have said that it was the tube going @Dovefromabove !! Hope it fixes itself but .....

.....sometimes I think my tube is going too!!!

Enjoy the last day of the week all those who work the 5-day week and those who don't!!

We were tearful during parts of the D Day programmes too.

We had breakfast in a café looking at the market and I had hot chocolate, 2 cups as really good and chocolaty, and a pain au chocolat (called chocolatine in this part of France and OH had coffee and a croissant and a chocolatine, all for under 12€ which we thought was good value. I bought 2 platycodon plants, flowering well with lots of buds for 8€, also good value.

I don't think boring is the right word @Punkdoc, boring is dull, there are too many emotions for it to be dull. You will come out at the other end, stay strong, we are behind you.
