Same down here @Busy-Lizzie Pet cemetery under the Feijoa tree. One German Shorthaired Pointer and 3 cats. (All at different times). Then after that the previous Border (16) and Burmese Cat (Big Joe 14) had to be taken away, sadly. But as you said, the vet dealt with that.

I am glad there are sofa riders in the afternoons on this thread. I am one of them. Active in the morning and then relax-ville in the afternoon ......

Maybe....@RowlandsCastle you could do a shop depending on when you arrive and take a taxi to the cabin? Then sort out getting hither and thither.

    Bon appétit everyone!

Thank you for the kind comments. It is so hard even when planned so Bonzo's diagnosis is a double whammy.

@Tui34 I wanted her done at home so she was relaxed as the last few visits to the vet have been stressful for her. None of the vets we've used here does home visits but I have a gardening vet friend who offered to come after her Friday shift ended but then wouldn't be able to take care of the body, hence the trip. It helped keep us busy which is what we need at the mo.

        Afternoon all,

Firstly my condolences to @Obelix-Vendée on the loss of Rasta, and also on the very sad news concerning Bonzo. In a sense the people and beloved pets we lose are still with us as long as we remember them.

Thank-you for your kind words @lizzie27 . My continued best wishes to you Brother-in-law.

Very happy news about the MIL's scan results @Dovefromabove .

@RowlandsCastle This probably occurred to you already, but is there a taxi firm in the locality of where you will be holidaying? Actually I've just read back and that has already been suggested by @AuntyRach , apologies.

A dry day today with sunny spells, but still feeling cold for June. Saw my first caterpillar of the year this morning (different from the bright green ones which decimated my marigolds last year). More corn marigolds are appearing which will help to counter-balance the all-pervasive poppies.

        Enjoy your afternoon folks.

          Yes, @Dovefromabove
We had a similar agreement with the owners of the place we often went to on the Isles of Scilly. The one in Scotland is through an agent, but we're hoping they will be able to sort something.
Thank you to those who have suggested the delivery option. We don't know when we'll actually arrive yet. I reckon we'll go by train. My wife did not want to drive all the way. That's one of the times when I curse having epilepsy.

@RolandsCastle … When we went to Skye we flew from Norwich to Glasgow then hired a car .., it was much much cheaper than the same journey by train. Perhaps there’s a similar option for you?

Afternoon all, the good news is that all the tests BIL had overnight showed nothing really awful. They checked him for blood clots/leaks from lung etc so that is a big relief and they let him out about 2.30 am. Sis went home a bit earlier in a taxi as she was falling asleep and they both then slept till midday ish. He's got an appointment for the Fast Track Angina clinic in a fortnight and 2 weeks off work. Sis thinks it's just pure exhaustion/stress so the rest should help. I was also awake until nearly 3 am worrying so am quite tired today. Thanks for all the good wishes.

                  Have a good trip @redstar

That's very good news about MIL's scan @Dovefromabove, must be a big relief.

Some very good suggestions re the holiday arrangements @RowlandsCastle, hope it all works out.

Son and grandson will be somewhat disappointed today, just read that Bath lost the rugby match.

Enjoy your evening folks, the sun's just come out again here and it looks very pleasant.

Hi all. I've been rather preoccupied with personal issues but I'm aware how lax I am being here, regarding posting. It's good to read of positive news for Dove, lizzie and one or two others, but oh boy, to lose a pet is so hard, as many of us have experienced many times as pet owners. Condolences, @Busy-Lizzie.
@RowlandsCastle, whatever you can do to make your conundrum solvable (advice here is really helpful, I would say), may your holiday be a lovely, relaxing time for you and your wife.
Most of this week's weather is proving to be gorgeous in the evenings, but oh, what a strong wind has been a blowin' these past couple of days!
Have a good evening, @Ladybird4 and all.
