A very good morning one and all. As predicted, and as @pattie mentioned, the wind is blowing an absolute hooley here this morning. Will have to check up on my taller plants later. I wonder when we are ever going to have a sustained spell of nice, summer weather!

        Good morning all :coffee1:
It’s a beautiful morning here … sunshine and a bright blue sky and a light breeze … only 8C but it should go up to the mid teens and while not great it’s a helluver lot better than last week. We were regaled last night as we went to bed by music drifting across from a weekend event on the UEA campus parkland … last night it was this https://www.skiddle.com/festivals/kisstory-norwich/ … then tonight it’s going to be UB40, Martin Kemp and The Christians. My son the sound engineer says that as it’s about a mile away across the Yare valley someone’s got things wrong as we shouldn’t be able to hear it … we don’t mind but there’s probably some who would. I hope we can hear UB40 tonight :hapfeet:

The door from our living room to the garden is open and there’s a wren singing very loudly from very close by. It’s actually making my ears ring it’s so loud!

@Dovefromabove, we annually hear music from two festival venues, each over 4 miles away! Only when the wind is in the right direction though. I know that weddings in the Assembly rooms in Bath have very strict rules on how loud the music can be. I wish your son had been in charge of the music on our recent cruise. It was the usual battle for the singers to be heard over the backing orchestra, and everything so over amplified that it was distorted. Had to give up after a while.
A lovely morning here, although a little cool. At least we’ll get a decent walk. One more bit of lawn to cut and I reckon that will fill the green bins. Then I want to tackle some more weeds, plus have a go at some more rhododendron ponticum.
Hope you are getting through one day at a time, @Punkdoc. Sorry to hear about your dogs, @Obelix-Vendée.
Spoke too soon, it’s just clouded over. Going for a walk anyway.

              Good morning all!

Dark clouds here with some spits of rain. I have brightened up the day with a dish of aubergine parmigiana for lunch with the last of curly lettuce from the garden, with fried bacon bits and lots of garlic. The other one bolted with this humid weather we are having.

I had a concert last night too @Dovefromabove Something rugby going on at the stadium yesterday which carried on into the night - I heard some maori oh-ay, so it certainly wasn't the soccer crew!! Good on them!!

A relaxing afternoon (again) for me - a film, some series, reading The High House by Jessie Greengrass. Quite good if a bit slow. Second time reading it!!

I hope @Punkdoc is steady and strong!

Have a very pleasant Sunday folks.

                Morning all.

Whatever happens, I hope that you and your OH have a wonderful holiday @RowlandsCastle . Also, you too have a safe and enjoyable journey @redstar .

Good news that your Brother-in-law's test results are OK @lizzie27 . My former boss and my Mother both have angina. They give you a little spray bottle of nitroglycerine which should be carried at all times, but it doesn't seem to stop my former boss leading a full life. I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Hopefully your personal issues are behind you, and brighter days now lie ahead @pattie .

Assuming the weather cooperates, take a couple of deckchairs and glasses of wine into the garden and enjoy your free live music this evening @Dovefromabove .

100% cloud cover, and we've just had a reasonable shower of rain. Wind from the North West, forecast high 14C.

Whatever your plans, enjoy your Sunday Ladies & Gentlemen.

Morning all. I had a bit of a sleep in and I’ve missed the sunshine as it’s clouding over here. Hopefully the PJ wash will dry though.

Pleased to see flower heads on my Agapanthus appearing. I re-potted last year and they sulked a bit but they looking good for this year. I’ve moved that pot to by the patio doors ready for them to have centre stage next month.

                  Have a decent Sunday all.

Hello all, I just don't seem to be finding the time to come on here for long just lately. I see there are good results from scans, sorry to read about your dogs @Obelix-Vendée, they are so much part of the family.
It's wet and windy here today such a change from the heat and humidity yesterday. Plenty of rose petals being blown around the garden, it seems to be the same every year, just as there's a good show of roses along comes the wind and rain!!
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

I have only just heard that a body, presumed to be that of Michael Mosley has been found. How very sad. Inspirational TV presenter. R.I.P.
It has now been confirmed. His family will be devastated.

Morning everybody, just clouding over now although it was sunny earlier when I walked up in my dressing gown to the shed to open the doors - we're still trying to dry the floor out. Washed the bedding and got it out on the line so I'm hoping it will dry quickly, there's quite a breeze.

Shocking news about Michael Mosley although sadly what we expected.

Thank you for your good wishes @Badly_Maintained.

@Tui34 lunch sounded interesting. Enjoy your easy afternoon, I'll be doing likewise.

@floralies , I've got showers of petals being blown off my climbing Claire Austin, looks like confetti on the lawn, rather like the posh wedding in Chester recently.

Hope @Punkdoc is keeping it together.

Blast, just seen a squirrel hanging upside down from the top of the bird feeder and is accessing the sunflower seeds without activating the steel shutters - the little blighter! Will have to see if one of my plastic cloches can be fitted over the top now which won't be easy.

It's a joy, hearing a wren singing it's little heart out @Dovefromabove. One frequents my garden- last year it brought its baby to visit.
@Tui34, hope your Sunday is relaxing- my day is more or less the same. @lizzie27, you too!

Yes, it's so sad, re Michael Mosely.

                            Good afternoon all,

It’s bright here today, but very breezy and chilly. I don’t like the roasting heat but I do wish it would warm up a bit and that the pesky breeze would die down. I’m fed up of wearing thicker clothing and feeling chilly. Right, moan over :).

Had a nice service at church this morning, the visiting vicar was very good (we don’t have our own regular vicar any more, so are fortunate that a small group of retired vicars are pleased to come to our church occasionally for Communion or morning prayer).

Now having a lazy afternoon, reading through the posts here. I’m pleased to read that scans are coming back clear.

I had hoped to go into the garden to pot up a few more annuals, but this breeze we have is a bit too chilly and on the strong side, so they’ll have to wait a bit longer.

Sad news indeed about Michael Mosley. His family are in my thoughts.

Sending best wishes to @Punkdoc and to anyone else struggling at the moment. Take care, all of you.

                              Evening folks.
Busy Sunday - mended Dad’s grill/oven and helped him with some phone tech then up to MIL to do her a podiatry/pedicure - rewarded with coffee cakes.

Going to do a simple tea of quiche and salad as need to do some homework for an hour now, before my course tomorrow. We need to do a presentation at the end of the course so I’m thinking of making it gardening-related - showing that building and nurturing a team is like looking after plants. Will have a think how best to link it all in but the idea is there.

Sad re Michael Mosley- I did fear that would be the outcome.

                              Have a pleasant evening everyone.

I didn't get time to say hello this morning.

We went to Son 2 for lunch and for me to plant up his dry shade bed. I bought the plants last year for his birthday but there never seemed to be a suitable time to do it. It rained, but only lightly. I took my gardening mac. I weeded and dug his bed, north facing, wall behind and a tree above, planted his plants and mulched it all with compost. We had homemade asparagus soup, roast chicken, various veg and apple crumble for lunch.
Came home then went out to vote for the European Elections. I can vote here as I have French nationality.
