Re Michael Mosley you have to wonder. A qualified doctor chooses to go for a midday walk over rugged terrain in 40°C heat with no water, no phone, inadequate footwear and only an umbrella for shade. And his wife, also a qualified doctor, having heard that he is planning to go back to his apartment in such an unprepared fashion only calls for help seven hours later.

    Something doesn’t add up.

I’ve had similar thoughts … but they wouldn’t he the first couple to have had a holiday tiff and then one feels the need for some space … to have it end like that must be unbearable.

Alan Yentob who apparently was a friend, said today something along the lines of MM was a man who enjoyed mental and physical challenges …

This is all speculation though. We really do not know the facts.

            Good morning all :coffee1:

It’s a wet drizzly morning here in Norfolk … looks like it’s going to be wet most of the day.

We have to get a move on this morning … the boiler service is scheduled between 8 and 12.

A very good morning one and all. I think it must have been raining virtually all night here as the next door neighbour's borders are underwater and the Cres. was awash last night - so much so it looked rather like a stream than a roadway. Hope it improves during the day as it is quiz night tonight and who really wants to go out in torrential rain if they don't really have to?

The thing about speculation is that it’s what humans do … we wonder why something has happened the way it has .. it’s a way of showing that we care/are interested in what’s happened … without speculation we wouldn’t have crime fiction … or modern medicine.
It’s when speculation becomes malicious. or continues after the facts are known, that it’s wrong.

                Morning all.
It should be sunny today but not too hot. I expect there will be something to do in the garden but I have no real plans.

Europe has gone very right wing, unlike the UK. I didn't vote right wing but I don't want to talk about politics here. Probably shouldn't have mentioned it but I've just been reading the papers.

                  Morning folks.

                  Dr. Michael Mosley R.I.P.

A cold-for-June night has given way to a cold-for-June morning. However the good news is that there was prolonged (and much needed) rain yesterday afternoon, and further good news is that this morning we have blue skies and sunshine. The washing has been out for 2 hours already. I wouldn't describe hanging out washing as a hobby of mine, but I really do like to get it out if at all possible. :)

It is always good to see you on here @floralies .

Good idea of yours in comparing nurturing a team to caring for a garden, I like that. Best wishes for the presentation
                  @AuntyRach .

Have a safe day out there ladies & gentlemen.

Good morning everyone, not posting so much recently, but reading back.
Re Michael Moseley, it just shows that literally one wrong turn can have major consequences.

On a positive note, it was wonderful to see the coverage of Dave Day the tribute motorcycle ride from Londons Ace café to Barrow in Furness to honor Dave Myers. It's such a positive thing for a change with all this bad news around, and even better to show that the Bikers are not beer swilling hooligans as they are so often portrayed. It's one of the few times I really wish I had kept my motorcycle, but it wasn't possible for all sorts of reasons I won’t go into here.

I agree completely @Badly_Maintained. There is nothing nicer than the smell of air dried clothes The big con of getting people to buy 'scent boosters' to add to their wash leaves me speechless.

I was very moved to see that tribute to the wonderful Dave Myers @Allotment Boy and I hope that they get their wishes and make it an annual event. If I had had a rough idea of the timing I could have walked to the bridge over the M6 near me and given them a wave.

@Ladybird4 it seems that many thousands of people did just that, apparently there were people waving them on at every bridge and stop. They say that at one point it took an hour and a half for the procession to pass on the M6, the cavalcade was over 16 miles long.
