The veg etc is all prepped for tonight’s supper. (Cold chicken, homemade potato salad, asparagus, green beans and hollandaise and green salad) House clean and tidy. Floors done. Paperwork up to date. Can’t bake cos the boiler engineer will be in the kitchen. Can’t garden cos it’s tipping down … can’t work in the studio cos the prep for OH’s forthcoming big exhibition is taking up all the space. I can’t even watch daytime tv cos the tv doesn’t work. (We’re going to choose a new one this afternoon when the boilers been serviced). Nothing for it … I’ll just have to noodle on here with you lot … :noidea:

Gosh @Dovefromabove I don't think I've ever been in that situation, clean house etc.! There is always something that needs doing, but that doesn't mean I feel like doing it. Though tipping rain is rather thwarting.

Well … there are cupboards that need turning out @Busy-Lizzie … things that need throwing away … but that’s not going to happen today. :nonofinger:

                Morning all,

Yet another blustery, cold and drizzly day - it’s becoming so tiresome.

Hope the engineer isn’t there too long @Dovefromabove so that you can get out and look for a new tv. We had to replace ours a few months ago as it just died on us.

Good to hear from you @Punkdoc.

                  Hello everyone.
It's dry so far this morning but I expect there'll be a shower or two at some point- it's been very odd weather for June- or maybe we just expect it to be good! Certainly for me, my birthday celebrations these last couple of years have included picnics in the park, boiling hot days by the river and lots of pleasant outside activities. Well, we'll see what Thursday brings- OH has booked the day off from work.
Hopefully, the sun will shine on us all at some point today.

The engineer (very pleasant and efficient chap) has been and gone. The boiler is fine but we need two new rad valves. They’ll be fitted on Thursday.
We’ve had a quick early lunch, and OH is changing out of painting clothes so we can set off on the tv hunt.

Good afternoon all, good to see you @Punkdoc , hang in there.
Better weather today so I've dead headed the roses, tidied up the tomatoes and tied them in again, and a passing wasp stung me on the leg in the middle of my existing bites

Sorry about your wasp sting @floralies, I hope you have something soothing to put on it.

Good luck with the TV hunt @Dovefromabove.

The electrician is installing a new heated towel rail in the bathroom. The old one wouldn't turn off and got very hot.

Apart from the washing, and the machine dealt with most of that, I've done very little today. Resting my knee.

We’ve been to John Lewis and bought a new tv. We were in and out in half an hour. I’d done some research and at least we knew what we didn’t want. It’ll be delivered and set up and demonstrated, and the old one taken for recycling on Friday.
We’ve also been to Wrose and bought veg for a stir fry tomorrow, :blue thumb:

                          Ouch! @floralies :cry3:

Yes @Busy-Lizzie I have bite/sting cream to put on it. Rather a wasp than a bee sting though as I am allergic to them!

I haven't seen any wasps this year, so ouch indeed @floralies. I know they do a lot of good in the garden, but I'm much more wary of them than bees.
Our towel rail will only come on when the CH is on, which is annoying because we have damp/wet towels to contend with. Plus, it's set against the wall and it's difficult to clean behind it.

Afternoon folks (when does evening start - 6pm??).

Having a cuppa outside but cardigan required when the sun goes behind a cloud.

I hope everyone is doing ok - stings, sore knees, and hard times aside.
