After a day of drizzle interrupted by bouts of stair-rods the sun has come out …

We had proper, big, bouncy hail this morning.

I had a text earlier to say that I am not needed for the quiz tonight as the team has its full complement. I have to admit I am really relieved as I had such a poor night's sleep last night that a 'free' night from quizzing is perfect. I received some new Primulas today and they have been planted out. They are not the bedding primulas but the candelabra type. I also learned that the plants I have always known as Dodecatheon are now reclassified as Primula dodecatheon. I do have the pink and white ones in my garden now so it is interesting to read about the new nomenclature.

Signing out for tonight. Pleased you got sorted withn a new TV @Dovefromabove. Good to see @Punkdoc dropped in - hope all is well there. @floralies, that wasp sting would have been a major problem for me so I'm glad - even though it will have been a painful experience - that it is not a huge issue for you. Hope everyone enjoys their evening and fingers crossed @Tidemark doesn't get any more hail.

We actually had very nice weather today. It rained before we woke up, but stayed dry for the rest of the day. The grass dried enough for OH to get the last stretch of grass cut. Also trimmed the griselinia hedge, and both green bins are full for Wednesday. A good result! OH is still coughing after our post holiday bug two weeks ago, it’s getting him rather annoyed, especially as I’ve made a complete recovery.
Glad you’ve got a new tv organised, @Dovefromabove, can’t be long to tennis season?
Good to hear from you, @Punkdoc. We do worry about you, so even the quick report is reassuring!

Morning everyone. Freezing here, but we were warned that there could be snow in the hills, so not much point in whinging.

We’ve nothing planned for the day, but yesterday I stirred myself to go out to the back area to collect sticks for the fire and we ended up collecting a good supply while we were out there. Lots of kangaroos whooshing away from our vehicle. I don’t know what they do to keep warm. They don’t seem to snuggle up like sheep.

                Hi all
Another night of prowling round the garden instead of sleeping, but why? Is it withdrawal from my meds? Is it my original condition returning, and do I need to restart my meds?

I don’t know, and there is no easy way of telling, but I am the only person having to make the decision.

Thanks @Dovefromabove for your helpful thoughts, they mirrored almost exactly what I am trying to rationalise.

Now to try and get some sleep.

A very good morning one and all. Fingers crossed for a decent day - it was glorious when I got up but it has become more overcast. Onwards and upwards!

                    Good morning all :coffee1:
Big hugs for you @Punkdoc, and Moira too …. and anyone else in need of them :grphg:

Tennis season has started … I was watching the French Open in short bursts as and when the tv allowed … thankfully it did allow me to see most of the last set of the final … and to fill in the blanks I listened to some of it on the radio …

Now I’m watching the European athletics championship on my laptop … not great but better than nothing … the tv lets us watch about 15 minutes then the picture goes black for a couple of hours then it will let us watch another 15 mins.:gaah:
This morning is bright and dry so far … there may be a shower or two later … speaking of showers I’m heading for the bathroom …

                      Morning all.

I didn't sleep as well as usual. There was a fly buzzing about at 2am and my knee hurts. It had a rest day yesterday.

I am going to a meeting of the Rose Group of the Gardening Club today. People take roses but I'm taking photos as I don't want to take my roses, they are very young and the deer ate quite a lot. Last night I used Word to arrange photos on 2 sheets of photo paper.

OH has finished making the orchard fence taller and he's put taught wires between the horizontal planks so I hope deer won't come in that way. I put an electric fence the other end. Bit of a nuisance as you have to go through it to get to the garage.

Morning everyone, please remind me, is it June, isn't it supposed to be warmer? It must have been very cold last night as the radiators were really warm this morning. Not just the bathroom, which gets warm with the hot water, this is even with the thermostats turned down low. At least it's dry- so far.

                          Morning all,
Afraid it’s sounding monotonous with the weather report - drizzly, cool and breezy.
Off to an antiques place later to see if we can replace a broken glass. Not holding out much hope, but you never know. My next option will be to try the charity shops.

                                Good morning (still time) everyone.

We are having a cool spring too down here. The nights and mornings are quite cool then heating up to 26°C in the afternoons. Good growing weather! I must say that it is a year for onions this year as mine are growing really rapidly.

I hope your knee is feeling better @Busy-Lizzie Isn't it frustrating not being able to do the things we can normally do? I honestly don't know how your OH put up with all the pain before his OP.

I am constantly on the lookout for wasps' nests @floralies Usually in the little shelter where I keep the wheelie bins so I keep a broom handy to demolish the nest before it gets big.

I think you are doing so well @Punkdoc Walking around during the night is probably quite peaceful. Keep counting your breaths when you are anxious. Even if it's just to 10. I wish I could advise, but I can't.

I have put the big winter stuff away and brought out the summer clothes so I am feeling nice and organised. Rest this afternoon!!

Today: A la Saint Barnabé, fauch ton pré.

                                Enjoy your afternoon folks.
