Hello folks … we’re back home after a lovely visit to MIL. Good journey both ways despite a bit of heavy rain this morning. Sunshine on the way back. A good supper of local farm ham, egg & chips. Now a quick glance at the footie before an early night. I don’t think I’ll stay awake until till full time …

Not raining, so that’s a good start.

 

Having watched the first half of the match last night, I was pleased to hear on the Beeb this morning that I had actually witnessed the winning goal for England. They did keep good control of the ball but there was a lot of ninnying about. Wish our old mate Big Lad was about and he could explain why teams don't go all out for getting the ball in the back of the net.

11C and sunny … and the forecast is for a dry day … and there’s no rain showing for the week ahead … and it’s showing temperatures in the 20s!!! Can this be true?!?!

MIL is doing remarkably well thanks@Ladybird4 … still needing to visit the hospital every few days to have lymph fluid drained manually but it’s getting less and less. Next step will be starting radiotherapy before long but she’s not got a date yet …

 

I do hope that we are heading for decent weather as I'm going to the Royal Cheshire Show on Wednesday and all I wish for is a dry day.

Morning all.

It's been tipping with rain. Forecast had been OK for today. Glad we did gardening and mowing yesterday after garden visiting. I've lit the breakfast room woodburner and the sitting room radiator had come on.

We saw 3 open gardens yesterday. Two were charming courtyard village gardens, the other was a big formal garden, very tidy but a bit dull. I posted photos. Gardens and Pretty Places we have visited

We'll be packing today, catching the ferry tomorrow. Off to West Yorkshire on Friday then the Lake District on Sunday.

I hope you find your earring @lizzie27. I lost one at a wedding once, then one of the guests found it on the gravel driveway at the reception.

 

Another dreary day today and a second trip to the crematorium. Bonzo, having been given 2 months to live, died yesterday morning. The house feels really empty now, especially when cooking dinner with no eager "helpers" waiting for titbits.

 

Our sympathies to you all @Obelix-Vendée

 

Oh @Obelix-Vendée I am so, so sorry to read the news of Bonzo's death and my heart goes out to you at the passing of your second beloved dog.

 

I'm so sorry @Obelix-Vendée, it must be extra hard to lose two dogs so close together. xx
