G'Day @PatE. I am very impressed as I don't think chocolates would have lasted so long in my house. Mind you, I don't know how big the box was!
The day is starting off well here. Could be a good gardening day!

Good morning folks! Happy belated birthday @PatE !!

Maybe the summer has come - blue sky and sunshine. Early start today as it will be too hot for dog run before too long.

Relaxing day for me today. I hope you all enjoy what this day brings.

Yesterday was a none day really.
It mizzled all day, grey and overcast. I went for my Covid Spring booster vaccination. There seems to be a permanent centre in a church in town now. Last time I went I was the only person there, yesterday the world and his wife were there.
After being stabbed I did a shop in the local Co Op before going home and taking Robbie for a walk. I spotted a couple of wild orchids growing near the path on my way around the clay pit.

            Good morning folks.

Belated Birthday wishes to @PatE . I hope you had a wonderful day.

I've just completed my morning ritual of watering all my pots. Temperatures are forecast to hit a remarkable 24C in some places today. I'll soon be setting out for my rescheduled MRI, however - having learned my lesson from Thursday - I will phone them to make sure all is well with the scanner well just before I leave here.

Have a safe day out there ladies and gentlemen.

                Hi all

A stonker of a day out there, hoping to get a bit done before it becomes too hot for gardening, but perfect for lounging around.
                Good luck today, @Badly_Maintained

                  Good morning,

Yes, it’s looking like another lovely day for us here. I’m going to my ☕️ morning group shortly, after I’ve pegged out some washing.

The table leg has been repaired, so we will be going to collect that once I get back - it will be good to have the usual kitchen table instead of the outdoor one we’ve used as a temporary measure (it was better than nothing, of course, but a bit low). Apparently, table legs splitting is a common occurrence according to the lady we spoke to when we took it in last week.

When we return, I plan to sit outside and read some more of my book.

                    Morning all.

A late Happy Birthday wish for @PatE.

We are going to visit a garden near Windermere today. We found a pub last night, had Theakstons beer and a good meal.

I slept better but my knee is playing up a bit.

Morning all, how lovely to see the sun!! The washing machine is beeping at me ... so that wash won't take long to dry outside today. We had a lovely Dutch lady staying last night, she had driven twelve hours to get down here, and today she is going to meet friends in Spain.
Belated birthday wishes to @PatE, have you eaten all those chocolates yet?

Chocolates not all gone yet. I’ve got to be careful not to eat too much sugar because I’m nearly Diabetic. Besides, im really enjoying the little treats. It’s very cold here with our winter weather, so we had a quick trip to town today. All going as planned.

Morning all, so disappointed, it doesn't look like we will get the promised sunshine and high temps in this part of the world today, it's warm, 17c but very overcast. At least that's better than @Goldenlily26's mizzle of yesterday. How lucky to see wild orchids though. Hope your arm is not too sore today.

Good luck with the MRI scan @Badly_Maintained.

Thought of you yesterday evening @Punkdoc. There was an article in the Sunday Telegraph supplement about sleeping drugs, benzodiazepines which includes temazepam and diazepam (Valium). Apparently, as you probably know already, they can cause really horrible withdrawal symptoms in some people. She mentions a UK based support group called Beating Benzos and a book by Professor Heather Ashton providing evidence-based guidance on how to withdraw from these drugs. Hope you don't mind me posting this but thought it might possibly be useful, if not to you then other people.

@Tui34 , hope you got the dog walk in early before it got too hot.

I'd better get a move on, got some washing on, need to put the 2nd coat of paint on my table then might just potter around keeping up with the deadheading of roses. Feel rather lethargic today.
                          Have a good day everybody.

Morning all from warm and sunny France (Nat Park de la Brenne)

After a very wet and muddy start to our hols we took the decision to move further west and away from the hills. We've come to what was to be the campsite for the last 4 or 5 days of our hols but will now be our main base until at least next weekend. It's still been exceptionally wet here but the ground is much drier than the other sites. The sun came out to play yesterday and looks set to stay. This is a much better area for OH to go cycling, there's a nice bar and restaurant on site, friendly people, many trees to sit under with a book, and I can get a Snickers ice cream - :dbgrtmb:.

Mainly Dutch people on this site again, but we have met a couple of english couples. One couple live within 25 miles of us and are aunt & uncle to a good friend and neighbour in our tiny village. What are the odds? We're meeting them for drinks tonight.

Not done much in the way of sight seeing beyond driving through sleepy, pretty villages and stopping at the occasional interesting church but, on Saturday, we visited Oradour-sur-Glane. The once large and prosperous village was the site of a reprisal massacre in WW2 on 10 June 1944 when 643 people (193 of them children) were rounded up and shot and burned alive.

The village ruins have been maintained as they were left in 1944 as a memorial to the atrocity The rusted remains of cars, trucks, bedsteads, many domestic sewing machines lie dotted through the ruins and the tram lines and overhead wires and phone lines are still there. Despite the number of visitors (young and old) there was very little noise, just respectful, hushed conversations. It was a very moving and sobering experience. I'm glad we went.

@Badly_Maintained - I hope your scan goes without a hitch today.

@PatE - many belated Happy Returns for your birthday. Takes a bit of willpower to restrict yourself to just one or two choccies when you have a nice big box in front of you!

Hope the scan goes ahead @Badly_Maintained We had ours yesterday on schedule, the unit phones the day before to confirm your appointment or to free up a slot if you can’t make it. There is even free parking which is very unusual for the hospital.

Monday, already 74degrees. Did some watering last night. But the weather report said storms for my county, about 1Am heard some rain for about 20 mins. Need more.
Anyway, will water another area today.
We are working on gathering stuff to take to the Airbnb. Thinking of driving down on July2, leave the 4th and head west --5 hour drive to stay for about 5 nights meeting up with nephew and his family for a Jet Ski contest.
This Friday, going to a farmers market that is only open on Friday's have not been to this one in a while, hope weather is good.
                                Take care all.
