I was amused to see MD telling us all how to cut roses for the house.
Which does remind me, I need to pick some today.
We have friends (our DiL's parents) coming for supper tonight. Planning buttermilk chicken and a Caesar salad, with a side of crunchy slaw.
    Safe journey @Punkdoc and @Busy-Lizzie

Supper has been postponed; they both now have 'colds' - and as hub is immunosuppressed, they are erring on the side of caution.
Spicy buttermilk chicken and Caesar salad, anyone?

Friday. 74 degrees, nice temp. about 930AM

@Ladybird4 , have lots of pics now, but I find posting quiet a chore on this site. Have to upload to my email, then then download them, then go to this site to post, half the time it says its too large, that's when I give up. This is the only site I get a "too large" notice. Used to do some walk about videos, and upload that to You Tube, just go away from that also. If there was a method of direct to here via my cell I could try that , as long as the "too large" does not pop up. I could see if I accidently have a few in my downloads from last year. I know I have not sent any over from my cell this year.

We leave Sunday morning for our airbnb. Love having a camera about the house, outside. so last night one of the guests, a guy, decided to pee outside right in front of the camera, how charming, and right on the new plantings of ferns. SMH. And of course my camera has sound. I'll leave you all with that vision.

          Off to whatever.

Oh yuk @redstar. That is horrid. My pics are automatically transferred to my laptop from my mobile (cell) and then I can crop and resize them if necessary. Your method does sound a bit user unfriendly!

What a shame @Penny_Forthem. At least they were showing some consideration for your OH (unless your speech marks around 'colds' was being ironic?)?

I would not mind doing all that ----Except, when it finally comes to uploading it to this site, I get a "to large" most the time. so that's the last straw. The thing is no other site I belong to "needs" to be resized.

                  Hi all

We have just arrived at the Inn on Loch Lomond, where we are staying tonight. I am outside having a beer, looking at the summit of Ben Lomond. We have another 6 hour drive tomorrow.

@redstar, I would be inclined to send your 'guest' a copy of the video!

On my Samsung phone, my photos are shown in the Gallery, so I select the one I want to post on here, crop it just a little which reduces the size and save it. It then downloads ok as a 'Full Image' when I write the post using the phone to do so.
Is that the same as what you have to do?
I find it more laborious to attach it to an email, send that to myself on my laptop and then write my post on that. I rather think I just need to get an USB cable from my phone to my laptop so I can just transfer the photos direct - can anybody confirm this is the quickest/easiest method!

We've had a good day, despite waking early at 5 am. Managed to doze on and off till 7 am then we got up for breakfast - think we were hungry! OH mowed the lawns before it got too hot while I walked to the village to collect the paper. I then spent a couple of hours deadheading the roses and cutting down the Patty's Plum Poppy and gone-over foxgloves.

I have now discovered that we bought our bed in January 2018 - had an entry in my Garden Diary for that day - 'No gardening, went to town and bought a bed'! Still haven't found the receipt though,

Hope Dove is not suffering too much with her cold and will be well enough to sing tomorrow.

A beautiful view @Punkdoc, enjoy your holiday.

@lizzie27, I have a Samsung phone and my laptop is running Windows 11. I have the One Drive App on my phone (which is where the pictures I take are stored) and also on my laptop so that I do not have to connect my phone by cable. All pictures appear on my phone and on the laptop in the One Drive folder.
When I want to resize, crop or alter the pictures on the laptop I just need to click on the picture, tweak it and shrink it then save it and it can be uploaded onto this site without any problem. I should have said that I find this the quickest and easiest method.
I have no knowledge as to how all the Apple devices work.

TV has just gone phutt. Tried a good local repairer but there are no parts available so it is time for a new one. Annoying as it was a really good quality plasma screen but it is time to immerse ourselves in the alphabet soup of the latest technology - 4K, HDR etc.
