We knew it many years ago as the Inverbeg Hotel, it looks a lot bigger now! It was one of our Sunday night drinking spots when only hotels could open then.

 

@steephill, you could pick @Dovefromabove's brain for tips and ideas as she and her OH have just invested in a new TV.

 

We simply went to John Lewis, told them our budget, size of room etc and took their advice. We ended up with a Samsung costing about £600 plus the set up and demonstration cost and payment for recycling our old one.

 

Evening everyone.
I’ve tried to make the most of the dry and sunny-ish day doing bits and bobs in the garden. I’ve filled all my garden waste receptacles and it’s another week before garden bin emptying. I’m probably too picky about what goes in the composter/too lazy to sort through pruning piles.

Evening everyone, I had my first cataract operation yesterday so my eyesight is very uneven until the next one in a couple of weeks, but what a difference already in the "done" eye, I have not seen the bright colours of the flowers in the garden for so long! But, I was told no gardening for a month!! I'm sure some gentle deadheading is allowed, OH will have to do the strenuous stuff

I’ve spent most of the afternoon and part of the evening asleep … trying to sleep the worst of this lurgy off. Then I watched a bit of Glasto (Paul Heaton then Dexys). Now I’m going to bed and hope I wake up more or less recovered.

Son has given me the recipe for his secret Tour Manager’s ‘my artist will be able to sing’ potion. Sounds lethal (involves brandy and garlic plus lots of other potent stuff) but he says it has worked for singers whose names I’m not allowed to mention.

On my weather map, I can see a blue cloud heading towards us from the snowy mountains region (Perisher and Thredbo) so Hubby has brought the washing in to finish off inside. More wood on the heater as well.

 

Hello everyone. Busy day ahead for lots of us. I have got to prep 4Kg of strawberries for the Strawberry Fayre tomorrow and I'm also going to be baking a gluten free Victoria Sandwich. Made the tea loaf yesterday. Still waiting for a delivery of large pots and grow tables too so its a good job I'm being confined to barracks - in the nicest possible way.
@floralies, that is great news about your cataract operation. I do think I'm getting close to needing mine sorting.
@Dovefromabove, I hope the secret potion works and your choral concert today goes well.

 

Hello there @PatE. Wet and wetter here but at least last night's fierce winds have died down and it is relatively mild.

 

I had a call to say my on-line grocery order would be with me sometime between 9.00am and 12.00
At 11.50 my hand was hovering over the telephone to chase the store up when a lovely, very cheerful gentleman arrived with it! Yeah!
It sometimes pays to be a grumpy old besum.
Up and ready to walk dog before "Mevagissey here we come".
We will be celebrating my sister's 80th birthday. She lives on the Isle of Wight and doesn't want any celebrations so is not with us. She is having a visit from her grand daughter and baby great grand daughter.Lovely.

I may be singing with the baritones this afternoon rather than with the first sopranos … but I think I will be singing … my chest is fine so at least I’ll be able to breathe. I’ll take a dose of the secret potion in a flask as it’s a warm gargle to be used within 15 mins of the start of the performance. Hope the fumes don’t horrify the rest of the choir!
