@Bluejayway I was going to go with sage green but tester pots in various corners showed it would be too dull in the end of he kitchen with no window. However, I do like it so am thinking of doing the hall and stairs in that colour.

@Ladybird4 I do hope your back recovers quickly. Back pain can be so debillitating. I always hope PPP perpetrators get a good dose of karma.

@Busy-Lizzie I found wearing one of those elasticated braces helped me before I got my new knees and meant I could garden and even dance, tho not certain moves in quickstep.

It's been sunny here today tho breezy. More of the same tomorrow it seems but weekly shop tomorrow morning and then I hope to carry on painting if that's OK with the engineer who's coming in the pm to fix our dishwasher which has added floor washing to its regular duties.

A very good morning to one and all. Hope all goes well with the shopping trip this morning @Obelix-Vendée. Back seems to have recovered from yesterday's contortions thank goodness and today I am going out for lunch with my Quiz friends - our regular first Friday in the month meal. We are going to a place I have never been before, despite passing it regularly as I drive to Bestie's.

@Obelix-Vendée I have an elasticated brace for my knee but it's hard to get my jeans over it and it's hot and uncomfortable. Better when I'm wearing a dress but it isn't dress weather.

Must get up soon as house painting man is coming at 8am.

We had a lovely day yesterday as my brother and his future daughter in law came for a visit. We had a nice lunch out and a good catch up. It was so nice to see them both. Today I have no particular plans other than to try to clear the ironing basket, back allowing.

I hope your knee pain is easier today @Busy-Lizzie.

 

Morning all, it's going to be a hot one today before storms tonight and tomorrow. I have a RDV with the Ophthalmologist this morning to check on progress of eye.
Don't forget the tennis ball massage all of you with bad backs and sciatica, stand with back against the wall with the ball in between and press and move it around, hope it helps!

 

Hope all goes well at the Ophthalmologist's this morning @floralies, and thank you for the tip. I wonder if an old squash ball will do the same job??
@Blue arbour, you sound to have had a lovely time yesterday. If it were me, my back would be the best excuse ever for not doing the ironing. Mind you, it is over 7 years since I last used that hot metal thing - so long that the plastic components on my iron have started to crumble with age, and I've lost the manual!

Busy morning. Bike run, markets then a little SM shop for essentials. I do a bike run on the paths behind my house. No "car" roads. You don't have to keep your dog on a leash on these 'field paths" or pick up their doofers. She's very good and runs past other dogs (even little woolly sausage dogs). Only problems are Jack Russells that bark at her. In fact, I was seriously aggressed (not physically) by a man with a JR - obviously doesn't understand that sometimes, dogs like to say a few insulting words, the day before yesterday, prodding his finger in my face. I just apologised but it lasted a good 5 minutes - rather frightening. BTW, if there are insults by dogs, I don't stop - so my dog is obliged to follow me, so it never gets vicious. The world is becoming so much more aggressive - I think if he hadn't been so rude, I would have advised him to put his dog down and let the dogs sniff each other. That usually works especially if the other is a male.

How was the ophthalmologist @floralies and how is the hip? And @Busy-Lizzie your knee? Makes it so difficult to go anywhere when pain is so impeding! Can't take anti inflammatories as I take a BP pill each morning.

I had an hour's massage day before yesterday with half an hour reflexology afterwards. Yesterday and today, I am in much pain - hip and knee and shin tendons. I wonder if it was that or just one of those "bad days".

It's a Bobby Dazzler of a day, so inside in the cool for me this afternoon. My friend is coming from Montpellier this evening so I have poached some mackerel and will make a coconut milk sauce with turmeric, ginger and lemon etc. with some rice and salad. White wine is chilling in the fridge (as is water - still and sparkling)!

Since we filled up the bird feeders, the woodpecker has not been near us. Ungrateful bird!
Home later after our 4 nights in the van. I wonder if any of the veg are ready to pick.

 

Good Morning, or probably Good Afternoon, just looked at clock! Goodness, where did the time go, haven't done anything much yet bar meeting OH half way back from the shops. It' drizzly and very humid out there. Took some lovely photos of a big pink rose and my new Chandos Beauty rose, had to rush out quick at 9.30 pm last night to pick it before heavy rain swept in.

@floralies , that's good news about your 2nd eye op next week. You won't know yourself when both eyes are ok.
@Tui34 riding a bike with dogs around would worry me a bit, it's bad enough on two legs!
I expect the massage might have made the pain a bit worse but you should feel the benefit tomorrow.
