      Good afternoon everybody.
@Busy-Lizzie, I do hope you have had a marvellous time at Bressingham Gardens (a long time since I was there with my Mum) with your family.
@AuntyRach, you must have a sign in your garden proclaiming it as a 'drop in' centre for the wild and not so wild creatures. I expect the birds were noticeable by their absence when Tabby called round.
@Obelix-Vendée thank you so much for the delicious recipe - I did have to look up what measurements a sachet of baking powder and a sachet of vanilla sugar were . I'm also interested in the use of ground almonds instead of flour in cake baking. I've got a fortnight until the next coffee morning - time to experiment. Hopefully your cold will disappear soon.
Gosh @redstar what a very posh railway station that must have been - glorious architecture. The menus look delicious too.
I confess to loving Gunpowder Gin with Fever tree tonic - the variety with elderflower in it.

Well one final down and one more to go. I hope that the tennis result is not a portent for tonight's match. I'm not really that keen on football but I will probably dip in and out as it is the pinnacle of European football.

We are not keen on football either.
However, as there's a lack of anything else remotely interesting on terrestrial tv ( and nothing else on netflix) I will either have to resort to a can of paint, a brush and a large board, or men kicking a ball around.
We're under a yellow warning for more rain tomorrow. The courgettes have ordered a sunlamp, the runner beans are trying on wellies and the peas are sporting sou'westers.
I am neither a cake maker or eater, but that recipe sounds delicious @Obelix-Vendée

I loathe football. There I’ve said it. Minimal skill for maximum pay.

I will find a Nordic noir or murder thriller instead (not joking).

          Have a good evening folks.

I find it a total bore. One side wins. One side loses. Who would have guessed? My goal is to watch the rain as it runs down the windows, heading for the flower beds where it will score deep marks in the soil and turn the tilth into lots of balls.

@Penny_Forthem, it was supposed to be nice in my neck of the woods today - the weather forecasters lied!

I gave up watching tennis years ago when all the grunting started @Ladybird4 and have little idea of any of the players anymore except that I really, really dislike Djokovic.

I haven't liked football since the very early 70s when my then boyfriend was a non partisan Manchester fan so it would be United one week with George Best, Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Dennis Law and co and then Colin Bell, Franny Lee and Rodney Marsh the next. Student flatmates, including 2 from Northern ireland, were partisan and could get very over-excited (extreme) which I found distasteful. Never been interested in watching it on TV and especially since salaries became utterly ridiculous.

I shall find something else to do or watch but hope all who do watch the footie will enjoy it.

Well I have watched a token 20 minutes of the match, nothing has happened and that is quite enough for me. I have a book to read. I will sign out for this evening and see you all tomorrow.

It's got a bit more lively now @Ladybird4! We are babysitting my 3 granddaughters as son and DIL have gone to watch it at the pub down the road. More atmosphere.

We had a lovely day out at Bressingham Gardens. Granddaughters especially liked the carousel. I've posted photos on the Pretty Places thread.

A very good - if freezing day @PatE. Stoke up the log burner! It actually looks like its a beautiful day here this morning so garden beckons. Uh oh, weather forecaster - she say no!
@Blue arbour - you better brace yourself as the Olympics are loomimg on the horizon.
