      A very busy day yesterday.
I took the dog for his walk. Did an hours weeding of the patio. Had some lunch. Finally took delivery of my repaired car. Took dog to the groomers. Went and did a couple of hours shopping, had to go to B&Q, Home for Pets then go on to Aldis before going back to collect the dog and then coming home and unloading and putting away shopping. I was bushed!

          Carpe diem @Goldenlily26
Fantastic pictures @Busy-Lizzie. I am not likely to see them in person, but the gardens look stunning.
@redstar I was quite astonished at the size of some of your supermarkets compared to ours.
Talking of which, I'd better get a wiggle on as we have nothing suitable for the bbq tonight.

Hello all, just reading back, you are a busy lot! I've been to have my eyes checked after the cataract ops and everything is good, and she said I can drive again, OH is very pleased with that!
Lovely pictures @Busy-Lizzie, shame about your knee, do you think you will need an operation?
Another hot day today, it was 37c yesterday, watering will have to be done later, I think there maybe beans for picking.
            Catch you all later.

              Afternoon folks.

Many of you sound like busy bees - whether it’s chores, outings or general stuff.

Great news with your ‘new’ eyes @floralies.

Take care in the heat, if you have it (not @PatE - you keep cosy).

I’m just back from SM so it’s Danish and cuppa time.

It's going to be lunch in the garden, in the shade of the whitebeam.
At least we have the choice between shade or not - part of the reason we bought this place.

                  Good afternoon,

A glorious day here today. I’ve spent it not doing very much, really. Cleaned up downstairs this morning before it got too hot and put some towels in the wash.

I had intended going into town to sort some banking out, but given that there are lots of computer issues world wide today, decided to leave it in case their computers were affected. I didn’t fancy a wasted trip in this heat. It’s not urgent that I sort it today.

Sounds a good plan to eat outside in the shade @RowlandsCastle.

Sounds like a plan @RowlandsCastle. I've just come in from my garden. Bit warm out there.

I am also. when I shop, I can't help but think, will all this actually be sold before it goes bad, (of course thinking of produce). I was in a food store few months back and the avocados they had were really a step over ripe, I suggested they reduce the price just to move them along and get someone to use them NOW, but nope they would not do it. So I said, really, your going to have to toss them tomorrow. No answer. SMH.

Not weekly, maybe every 2 months. Its a nice drive there, about 30 min., just shopping inside takes lots of time to roam about, can easily kill an hour or two just looking at all the stuff. Husband did say the donuts I got there were one of the best he ate. And they did have a few other interesting culinary delights for me. There are lots of supply of just about anything. I did not even scope out the huge freezer compartment area. Lots of items from companies never heard of either. Have to get you the link.

YOU Tube lists quiet a few videos about Shady Maple Market, I only picked one. But if you want to see more they are there. The other thing it is know for is Shady Maple Smoregasborg buffet and that is huge, I been to that twice, its unreal the food offered and decent price. That is also on the You Tube line up.

Wow that is most impressive @redstar. Everything you need under one roof. Being on GC is the nearest I get to social media as I choose not to have anything to do with all of the usual suspects.

Afternoon all, a bit late on parade. Too hot to do much again as I've been skulking inside most of today. More washing done after our usual walk. Friday is cake day in this household and as it wasn't a Fasting Day, I went for an Apple & Sultana Danish - well, apples are fruit aren't they!
I had lost a bit more weight this morning so as long as I'm careful tonight, it'll be ok.

I can't cope with huge supermarkets any more, I thought the French ones were bad enough and that was some years ago. I'd need a buggy to get round them now.

Hope your weather will cool down soon @Ante, ours is supposed to next week, just in time for the school holidays.

Love those photos @Busy-Lizzie , shame we missed Houghton Hall when we were in Norfolk 2 years ago.

Good news the eyes are ok @floralies and that you can start driving again. I'm going to have to be the chauffeur for at least the next six weeks whilst OH's new hip heals. He's just been told he has to be there at 7.30 am - crikey - that'll be rush hour! It's only 4 miles across the city but it has been known to take an hour sometimes. At least the schools will be on holidays.

Have a good evening everybody and enjoy those BBQs.

Interesting day today starting with a visit to a store which sells everything you ever thought yu wanted in terms of IT kit, phones, cameras, hifi plus books, records CDs and DVDs except that nothing was working cos of an IT bug. Found out later it was Microsoft who'd shut down the world with a new release - we met Possum for lunch and she arrived at work this morning to be told not to touch her PC at all. She and her boss ended up "cleaning" the office - putting away all the old boating periodicals, old publicity brochures and their packing and even cleaning keyboards and screens.

I hope heads roll at Microsoft. They've done this before but not quite this badly.

Anyway, car has been serviced while OH and I poodled round the sales - shoes for him and DVDs for me - then lunch with Possum who works nearby and a raid on the fabric store where I got 50% off some navy blue cotton to make a trouser suit and a silk and cotton mix at 40% off to make some lighter trousers. Hot out there so needed a siesta when we finally got home.

Fab photos @Busy-Lizzie - such a good idea to grow lilies in the lavender.

Have fun on that website @Ladybird4

Great news about your eyes and driving @floralies

                              Have a lovely evening everyone.
