Don't know how the "karen" name got attached to that meaning, I have also thought that real Karen's of the world don't like it.

SMH equals---Shake my head. For a short term stay through Airbnb no bond is asked, but if they break something then Airbnb charges them and the money goes to the replacement of. Long term is the typical "bond". We had a lovely long term guy there last summer, for 8 months, did it off Airbnb, got him to sign a lease, with a bond. Now its, different people for about 7 days, or 4 days, or 10 days etc.

There are FB pages and Youtubes dedicated to Karens, I do believe.
I have spent today watering and feeding. Used the solar pump to water from the stream and, sadly, the house mains for the veg and greenhouse at the top. The butts are dry.
I have never suffered from migraines @Badly_Maintained but believe they're miserable.
Grand dog has passed an enjoyable day

What a lovely picture, @Penny_Forthem! We have only recently returned our grand dog after a three week visit here. Miss her very much, but it’s noticeable how much more exercise we are getting on our walks, when we don’t have to stop to sniff and examine every twig, weed and fence post we pass! Don’t miss the snoring either!

I've never heard of Karen being used like that. When I was young I had a friend called Gay.

Can you sleep in ear plugs, @Busy-Lizzie ? I use them when sleeping in noisy places (like our son's house, opposite the church with a clock which "bongs" every hour!). It can be difficult to get them to sit comfortably, but it might make it possible for you to sleep with the aircon working.

No, I hate ear plugs @Liriodendron! The room is a reasonable temperature now so we will turn the air con off for the night. No sun to beat down on it!

                      Hello August.jpg
White rabbits everyone and a pinch and a punch for the first of the month! I was awakened by a thunderstorm at 03:30 this morning. At first I thought the noise was Cricket - bringing in a pressie for me and playing touch rugby with it but soon realised I was wrong.
@Penny_Forthem, that is a blissful picture of grand dog. @Ergates, I hope you didn't have to lift your leg/squat at every fence post on your walks!

                        Morning all.

OH actually remembered to do pinch punch! Think it's the 2nd time ever.

I went to sleep quite quickly. We had turned the air con off as it's noisy. Woke up 2 hours later and the room was much warmer. I expect the space between the roof tiles and the ceiling, don't know about insulation, was still hot. Woke up 2 hourly after that.

Cooler outside, grey sky. 30C forecast for this afternoon. I have never known it so hot here. Sometimes 35C, never 39C. Sorry to go on about it so much.

In the day the comfiest place is the living room with the fan on. It has thick stone walls and hot air rises.

Morning all, we have woken to thick fog and heavy drizzle! but it's lovely to have it cooler. We had the windows open during the night with the mozzie blinds down, which works quite well.
I'm hoping this drizzle stops soon as i have so much to do in the garden now it's cooler.
                            Have a good day all.

                              Not much happened here.
I tried out a new fangle dog bowl for Robbie. It has a gel liner which you put in the freezer, I put ours in overnight, put some water in it, dog had a long drink, drove to the Village Green and walked dog before returning to car. Dog enjoyed another long really cold drink of water. £10.00 in Aldi. Overall money not entirely wasted. I haven't timed the liner to see how long it lasts.
Where do Aldi find so many things that we need before we know we need them!

@Goldenlily26 I certainly didn't know I needed one for our dogs before reading your post! Clever little sausages, aren't they?
