@Liriodendron, this is sounding very exciting. I hope it is little hoglets making this change in behaviour.

 

I woke up this morning with a streaming cold so I didn't go to Bestie's today. I did not wish to share my germs which could have been passed on to her 94 years old Mum. I am signing out a little earlier today so I can go and dose myself up. Enjoy your evenings all and I'll catch up with you and your news tomorrow.

The dogs had a good run this morning and a quick jaunt after their teas.

Our forecast today was for 80% chance of light rain all afternoon.
Not even had a teaspoonful yet….

Not far from Abergele @Penny_Forthem , it has been virtually dry for a couple of weeks now

 

Know the area well @Bluejayway My aunt was the matron of the hospital in the 60s/70s and I did several stints of auxiliary nursing in student holidays.
Lovely part of the world.

@Liriodendron you could just put a bowl out when you think she'll be coming out. If she sees you, she'll probably just curl up till you go and then she'll smell the food. You can remove the dish before the rats and ferals find it. Somewhere in a box at the back of our study I have a print of one of our cats eating food I put out for the hedgehog and the spiky critter was tucking in too.

I hope your cold doesn't get severe and is soon gone @Ladybird4.

@redstar I think it was ungracious of them and I wouldn't go back.

 

Thanks for the suggestion, @Obelix-Vendée . If she settles into this new time pattern I might well give that a try... she already wallows in the birds' water dish (which is just a big plant saucer)! It's full of bits every morning.

A very good morning one and all. Just breezed through yesterday's posts.
@Obelix-Vendée, great tip about the pan scrub. I did use one in the past on my new potatoes - don't bother now but it will certainly get rid of the prickles. Thank you for your good wishes re my cold. I feel a little less sniffly today.
@Bluejayway, your lack of rain is because its all up here! I would be happy to share it with you!

@Liriodendron, I am so envious of your hedgehog. I used to get them here but haven't seen one for a few years.

 

Good morning! I'm up early cos my Kindle needs charging so I can't do my usual reading before surfacing and getting on with stuff.

Sunny start and set to get to 30C in the shade so we'll make an early start on the gates which need lifting off so I can get at the base properly. After that, more merry potting and then watering. I have been finding inordinate numbers of snails in amongst the pots and one slug. So far.
