Hello there @Obelix-Vendée. Not too long until your road trip now.
@RowlandsCastle. It is quite easy to miss stuff as we rattle along on here but don't worry about it. I am hoping to get my hedge, or part thereof, cut today but I need to check on my green bin as I did get a lot of stuff into it the other day and I suspect it is very nearly full again so I will have to get the next half size green bin out of the garage for the overflow.

 

Oh pleeeease send some @Ladybird4 I'm sick of dragging the hosepipe out. All four water butts are bone dry ....

Rather grey and breezy at the moment, but dry. The heatwave is meant to start on Sunday here, possibly Saturday, but I’ll wait and see. I prefer mid 20’s, but it looks as if it could reach high 20’s for us and low 30’s for the south.
Off to do the church flowers shortly, then not sure, though I suppose I should tackle the ironing pile.
We have a hedgehog visit us most nights - we see it on the trail cam. Not seen any young, though. It visits the water dish regularly, and snuffles about for tasty morsels. A few years ago, we captured two on the trail cam, baring teeth at each other and snarling. Must have been two males fighting over territory I guess.

Busy morning. Early start with Fizz. Shower then out to SM for a quick shop. Back home. Put the bits and pieces away. Washed the dog. She was getting a bit ripe. Then made gazpacho! Hairdresser coming at 1.30 for some dar grey highlights and a summer cut. Then some R&R.

 

Friday. 9AM, raining, raining, soggy soggy.
Lots of storms and rain on the East Coast. Saw that the electric had gone out on the street our Airbnb is on, thinking of the guests arriving today. Thank goodness it went back on. They are there only the weekend, so imagine some event they are attending.
Watching on Netflix last night the continued series of Gilmore Girls, in one scene she mentioned a restaurant on the Main Coastline, looked it up, and Wow, we actually will be staying in that town, so will make reservations at that restaurant. World is small. Wonder if they are on open table. have to check.
Guess I am inside all day, get into continued closet clean out, dusting here and there, boring stuff. Do have to leave for the farmers market for fresh tomatoes and free range eggs. They have some awesome plums also. Things are just to expensive.

Another hot sunny day.

We went to the market this morning but couldn't find a parking place. Went to the SM instead. It was packed. Tourists everywhere, lots of English and Dutch.

 

Good afternoon all. I hope I haven’t missed anything as been too busy (or tired) to post much this week.

Just trying out my new phone but the case doesn’t arrive until tomorrow so ‘ll have to be extra careful.

 

We have had a picnic in the forest, just us and the birds. So peaceful. There are nightjars there. I'd love to see one. (Autocorrect changed it to nightmares!)
I feel sorry for anyone stuck in the inevitable traffic jam on their way to the coast.

Just back from Ennis (our county town) where we had a nice pub meal, a belated celebration of our 49th wedding anniversary. Now feeling rather full... couldn't resist Eton mess for pud!

Just managed to get a (terrible) photo of the Red Arrows on their way to Blackpool.
They look more like UFOs but it really was the Red Arrows. Honest!!

 

@Liriodendron, 49th anniversary is very special. My sis and BIL celebrate their 50th anniversary towards the end of this month.

@Penny_Forthem, I remember Chris Packham getting very excited about the nightjar on Springwatch.
@Bluejayway, I believe you and I am impressed you actually managed to get a photo at all knowing the speed they fly at. Good on you!

@Bluejayway they were supposed to fly over us yesterday on the way to RAF Valley. It was cancelled due to bad weather.

 

The Scissor sisters are looking winsome tonight
