I didn't start on my hedge cutting yesterday as it was wild and windy and collecting up the clippings would have been harder than cutting them off. Might make an attempt today - weather permitting.

 

Phlox is precisely what my App says they are, but they looked rather similar to the white jasmine - only the jasmine is just finishing.

Another early start to the day with watering at 6am. It was far too hot last night at 36°C. How people with air conditioning got to sleep, I don't know. It's extremely oppressive. It's only 26°C now so I'd better get moving.

 

You are most welcome @RowlandsCastle. A bungalow near me has a huge row of the purple phlox and they look quite stunning.

I’d love a white Phlox @RowlandsCastle - they are good bloomers. I have a vivid pink one. In fact the previous owner must have loved bright pink as many plants are this colour (Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Hydrangeas, Fuchsias…) Not my choice, but they all healthy so they are embraced.

I think the previous owner of this bungalow liked pale flowers. So much is proving to have white, or pink, flowers, with a few exceptions.

Since moving in, we have planted purple salvia, lavender, blue agapanthus, and a rose (white) which we were given.
I'd like more bright and deep colours. We've got plenty of time.

A less breezy day so far, but a mix of sun and cloud. It’s supposed to stay fine.

My goodness, that’s hot @Tui34. We are forecast the high 20’s tomorrow and possibly 30 degrees on Monday where we are (it’s increased a degree or so from their prediction yesterday). It’s the sticky nights that are unbearable, though, just not used to them.

I hope to do a bit of tidying in the garden later. It was far too breezy yesterday.
