        No @Ladybird4
I've not been raiding your store cupboard. I keep old tins for, well, because they might be useful. Only this picture I got from the internet.
Due to make jam today. Just a small batch. I did find room in the freezer for the blackberries overnight. They'd have gone off otherwise, I think. It's so warm!!
Hope you enjoyed the Olympic closing ceremony. It seemed rather strange in part, to me. I was expecting Macron to be the one coming down, dressed in gold, reminiscent of the Queen in 2012!

          Good morning all!

Another early start (5am). Dark now - autumn is not far off when the sun rises a few minutes later every day. The garden and vegetable garden are watered and ready for another sizzler!!

A very good morning @RowlandsCastle and all arriving later. I have to say that bits of the closing ceremony did, for me, drag a bit and I did feel that there were echoes of the Daniel Craig performance at London 2012. Still, I did enjoy some parts. At least now I will not find it difficult to drag myself away from the TV. True to form is absolutely heaving down outside. I might be forced into doing some dreaded hw.
Hope @Obelix-Vendée is ready for tomorrow.

Good morning @Tui34. You sneaked in there  Speaking of Autumn I noticed that the leaves on my Katsura tree are predominantly yellow now as if it is ready to cast them off. I will look forward to the delicious candy floss scent that fills the garden once they have dropped.

                Morning all.

Thank goodness for the air conditioner. It was 31C in our bedroom late afternoon. 24C when we went to bed having put it on for the evening.

                Off to Gaby's soon.

Watched the Olympics closing ceremony until 11pm, 10pm UK time. Didn't like it, too surreal. French ceremonies are often like that.

Please could you send some of your rain to north Kent! Our garden could do with a soaking.

                      Good morning,

It’s very still and dry here at the moment, cloudier than yesterday. We might have rain later, but it’s not a certainty.

Enjoy your few days away with your daughter @Busy-Lizzie.

I’ve got my coffee morning group this morning, then not sure of my plans.

Yes, I’ve noticed that the mornings and evenings are getting darker for longer. Once the schools break up it becomes more noticeable, I think.

                          Morning to you all.
No rain here either. I forgot to water the pots on the deck last night, so as soon as Tesco has been, you'll know where to find me.
I've got some jam to make too, @RowlandsCastle but it'll have to wait till we get back from hub's birthday jaunt (we go tomorrow till Thursday) to a hotel near Conwy.
Once his birthday has passed by, I turn my attention to spring bulbs!
Hope you all have a wonderful week, the weather does whatever you want it to for you and the gardening is easy!

Hello all, what a treat to have an overcast morning and a lovely breeze! We are making the most of it and pottering in the garden but the ground is like concrete.
I hope @PatE is OK or have I missed her posts? Also @Dordogne Damsel.

No, @Ladybird4, I'm not ready as I still have to pack but I have sorted out what I'm taking which is half the battle. OH has filled up the car, taken him for a bath and filled up the windscreen washer and Ad Blue. Serviced last month so good to go.

I've spent my morning so far watering veggie beds thoroughly to help them survive OH's water rationing tendencies and preparing some coronation chicken for my picnics on the journey and a large frittata for OH's lunches.

It's a lot cooler today with an expected high of 27C so positively comfortable and set to be a bit cooler but bone dry for the next week. Typically, the courgette plant has finally started producing and I found 3 fruits on it this morning and the tomatoes look about ready to start ripening over the next few days.

Our soil is also like concrete @floralies but will be fine when/if we get autumn rains. I didn't find any spring bulbs on sale last autumn @Penny_Forthem and I looked regularly in several GCs from late August on my way home from physio sessions. I shall order online this year.

I hope everyone's having a good time, whatever you're doing.

Monday , about 930AM here. Just looked out my front door and see some limb down where it was not yesterday. Anyway, another section to clear today. Can't get on the ridding mower to cut grass until all of it is up.

The guests we had this weekend were horrid. Totally planned party, lost count of the people, 6 cars in the driveway. Too much noise, and way past the 10PM silent time. We had to call the police. My cleaners are going in today to check out the place as soon as guests leave. The houses are too close for nuttiness like that. We have outside cameras so got stuff. There are house rules. I don't mind people visiting folks when someone is staying. But not 6 cars. could have been 8, camera just goes so far. The wear and tear on things in the house, toilets, etc. After assessment we shall see if we have to bill them for anything. Thank goodness most of the furniture is second handed. My poor cleaners. Probably have to get the Property manager to stop by if cleaners find something.
Neighbors around are all over 70 years old. They don't need this junk. We are going to have a big meeting with the property manager.

Anyway, have a good one folks.
