Most of my pictures have been close up, rather than overall views. I've been taking them since we arrived, including a spattering of snow, the first morning.

Thursday. 10AM. 59 degrees. Packing, organizing etc. 3 more nights sleeping here.

@floralies have a septic tank also, 44 years old. still works great, pumped out every 3 years. Fun knowledge to know. LOL. Just had done in January.

anyway, on to whatever. Take care folks.

            Afternoon all.

Pleased to hear of the positives from yesterday.

I’ve checked in on Dad and done a small SM shop. Bought a rake/dustpan thingy from Diddly-Dee - be ideal for picking up leaves and sweepings. Just taken down hanging baskets, string lights and a few other things ready for the gale storm tonight.

Tomorrow is my last shift before two weeks off!

I’ll have one week of chilling and outings and the second week will need some days to do homework as I have an exam coming up. I’m getting too old for exams - hope it’s my last ever one.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks.

Wedding anniversary wishes for @Obelix-Vendée and @Blue arbour.
My DiL's 40th birthday is on Sunday and her mum's is on Saturday. Made up a hamper for her mum at the farm shop (local cheeses, chutney and artisan crackers). DiL is getting a voucher for Ruthin castle, which she can spend as she likes - spa, afternoon tea etc.
Van is prepped for our weekend stay - just clothes to take. (oh, and dogs!!)
I also dropped a thank you note into Aldi for the first aider who looked after me yesterday.
Back to my old self today, thankfully.

That's good @Penny_Forthem. Glad you're feeling better and hope you enjoy your weekend away.

I slept for 9 hours last night and woke up feeling refreshed but a morning of pottering round the pots, inside and out, followed by a good lunch left me feeling very tired so I've had a snoozle. Everything seems OK and I picked some tomatoes, courgettes and 3 eggs. Dry here and a very comfortable 24C. Set to stay like that for the next 10 days so the sprinkler is on in the veg plot.

Happy anniversary to you too @Blue arbour

We have inherited a newish septic tank with all the regulatory tanks and water processing @floralies and @redstar. Had it emptied 4 years ago and were told it's good for another 8 to 10 years as there were just the two of us. I don't suppose having Possum here has made much difference. If we'd stayed in Belgium we'd have had the expense of replacing that one with all the extras added.....

Hope you stay safe in the gales @AuntyRach and that you enjoy your break. Good luck with the studying too.

@RowlandsCastle we have one of Richard Lionheart's favourite cstles about 15kms away thos it's in ruins now after the 100 years war, the wars of religion and that Napoleon chappy rushing about subduing the Vendéens and breaking things. Lots of chateaux too.

Enjoy your evening everyone. Simple roast veggies for us tonight with garlic bread, known as préfou here and with its own history.

Never mind about forgetting the SD card @Liriodendron. I am sure you will have many pics to go through after the other day.
Pleased to report that my super great nephew - who by the way is one of the world's best huggers - did amazingly well in his GCSEs. He is definitely mathematically, scientifically minded. He is over the moon with his results.
@AuntyRach, 2 weeks - wonderful! OK admittedly you will be a different kind of 'busy' in your second week but I wish you lots of fun.
@Penny_Forthem, pleased to read you are recovered. A lovely gesture to the First Aider too,

I've been across to check on Jack. He is fine. He was so excited to show me his latest purchase. I really have no idea when this occurred but I know his daughter sorted it for him. He couldn't tell me either but for years he has been telling me that he would like some katanas (Samurai swords) and lo and behold he took me into his second living room and there were two of these items. I do have to say that they did nothing for me. They were exceedingly old and menacing but I was happy that Jack was so delighted with them. He had never even told me he had got them until today. His daughter is back from her little Lake District break tomorrow and I know that Jack has missed her.
I am signing out for tonight. See you all in the morning.

Evening everybody, had mixed sunshine and showers today and got caught in a really heavy squall within sight of home this morning - we got drenched despite macs. OH was able to walk about half a mile today which is very good progress and he hauled the empty green bin back up the hill to our back gate without me knowing.

Happy anniversary to both @Obelix-Vendée and @Blue arbour.

Glad to hear you're much better @Penny_Forthem and that you're going to the van as planned, hope you have a good stay.

We're forecasted some high gusts overnight here @AuntyRach but don't have a storm warning as yet. Good luck with the exams, I got to my fifties having to do fairly regular ones then swore never to do another exam ever again.

Speaking of which, very proud grandparents today, grandson had brilliant results in his 9 GCSE's so will be going to his chosen sixth form college as planned. His dad joked, well I taught him everything he knows and I retorted, 'and I taught you everything you know'!!

Just going to watch the late Michael Mosley's documentary on the human body, should be interesting.
