    Good morning all.

If I look like an early riser I'm not really. I'm in France and it's an hour ahead of the UK. Hello @redstar thank you for starting this thread all those years ago. As you are in the USA it probably isn't morning for you. I saw @PatE from Australia has just joined.

I slept very well last night, after 2 bad nights because of travelling and a bad back. Back is a lot better too. Did it while gardening. There is a lot of gardening to do at my French home, roses to plant too. It's been very wet here this winter, like in the UK.

The fatball bird feeders are full of blue tits. I left 2 big boxes with my handyman when we went to England in January and they've all gone. We got back to France on Thursday.

@Busy-Lizzie I had a text from my sister yesterday around lunchtime as she and her OH were just passing Chalon on their way to Lyon for the rugby today. She sent pictures and the weather looked quite nice. Not brilliant at French geography and I am not sure where your home is but hope the decent weather gets to you soon.

Good morning everyone! It looks a fine day here on the border of Cambs/Norfolk for pottering around the garden, getting lost in pleasant gardening thoughts. I'm looking forward to getting 'in front' for a change, the weather's been either too wet or cold to do too much, and when there has been opportunities, I've had to be elsewhere.

I'm in awe of the kind Members and Administrators on Gardeners Corner for welcoming such an influx from GW. I believe most 'refugees' from GW want nothing else but to blend in and positively contribute. How should we help those GW peeps who feel overawed with learning how GC's forum ticks? No one should be left behind, unless it's what they want.

It's said that 'The best software is the one that we know'!

Good morning @Jenny_Aster :) Thank you for your kind words, very much appreciated!

We also wouldn't want anyone to be left 'homeless' either, especially given the way that GW seem to have taken quite an abrupt decision.

Whilst there will be short periods of time when we are not around, for the most part there is almost always at least one of the Admin team around who are more than happy to guide anyone who needs help on how to find their way around - all that needs to be done there is to tag us in the relevant thread (@wiseowl @shiney @JWK @Loofah @Fat Controller) and that will draw our attention OR send us a private message.

In addition, the members here are the best sort of folks (I am biased, I admit) who will generally be willing and able to help as well. We don't "do" embarrassing folks around here (not sure how GW works, but I know some forums do), so if a thread is in the wrong place, we will move it for you, or if you need guidance, you won't get ridiculed or belittled for asking. Oh, and we don't have 'grammar police' here either!

It is never easy when you join a new forum as the layouts and softwares are all that wee bit different - it takes time, but that familiarity will come. Before you know it, you will feel right at home.

One thing perhaps also worthy of note - if anyone has photos on GW that they want to preserve, feel free to copy them to GC. If that means starting a suitable thread, go for it! Evan screenshots can be saved, so you could in theory screenshot posts with good advice/information that you want to retain.

Actually, I've had a thought - would it help if we started a thread (we could 'sticky' it somewhere such as General Discussion) where folks could simply dump photos and screenshots for now and then those can be worked through at a bit more of a leisurely pace? I am acutely aware that time isn't on your side in terms of harvesting stuff from GW if you want to, but once it is grabbed and stored here, however jumbled, there is all the time in the world to go through it and make more sense of it?

Thank you @Fat Controller , that's kind of you. I think all the photos that I've ever posted on GW are on my Laptop.

Is there a thread for photos of your gardens?

People tend to start their own threads in General Gardening. If you are renovating or starting from scratch etc then put it in Garden Projects

                      Good morning everyone.

Thanks for the helpful advice @Fat Controller.

An exciting day for you @Dovefromabove, I hope your new car is easy to get used to.
It’s turned into a bright, sunny morning here, after a touch of frost - I hope that hasn’t caught anyone out. I have to say how pretty my borders and my neighbours borders are looking with all the beautiful spring flowers on show or almost on show, and they seem so vibrant against the blue sky.

Well, I’d better get on, my tea needs drinking and breakfast is calling.

Also in 'Members Gallery e.g. I started a thread where I record big changes to my garden. I called it Mike's evolving garden (I didn't want my posts to get 'lost' among other ones - not that I think the other ones are unimportant but I thought it would be better for me personally to keep mine all together, for my own benefit)
Also @Victoria has a thread called An Algarve garden, and there are others as well.

I also put photos in the other threads such as What's looking good in whatever month it is, and there's a thread called cacti and succulents which I often post photos on.
                          etc .

Just to say as well, I don't do much chatting so you won't find me on this thread often, or the other 'chatty' ones ... because I'm a miserable bug*er
