We had a delicious lunch at The Fox and Goose in Fressingfield. The food is beautifully presented and cooked and the helpings aren't too big. Though I still feel full, maybe because of the pint of cider!

Thank you all for your kind words about the patchwork. It will end up on my bedroom wall abve the bed.

@Blue arbour I too like Northumberland tho I haven't visited for decades. My dad was born up there and his parents ended up in Newcastle while my mum's family is from Seaham so lots of trips to see the grandparents. My dad and his wife took Possum over to the coast when she was 8 so she's done the Harry Potter side of Alnwick castle, Grace Darling, Seahouses and so on. I went to fetch her on my way back from Glasgow and spent most of a day in Alnwick gardens. They were just starting the po.ison garden. Two decades on it should be well devolped now and I think you have to book to see it.

I didn't get any bulbs planted either @Liriodendron. Despite watering, the ground is still hard and I need to shift a lot weeds before I can plant bulbs. I'll wait and see how much rain we get this coming weekend. The forecast is promising but I'll believe it when I see it.

I ended up in the kitchen making rosemary flavoured sea salt and cooking down tomatoes to make passata then up in my sewing room taking in 2" at the waist of a pair of jeans.

Glad you enjoyed your meal @Busy-Lizzie.

      Goodnight all. Sweet dreams.

                Morning all.

Good luck @AuntyRach. May all the questions be easy.

I hardly saw the big moon last night. I looked out around 3 am and it was behind NDNs' leylandii trees.

Today we are going to visit The Old Vicarage garden at East Ruston. Another birthday treat, it's shut on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Morning - fingers crossed for @AuntyRach today.
No sun here, but forecast to appear later. We're taking some stuff up to the van in preparation for our few days there, then taking elderly pooch to the vet for a pain management appointment. We have been doing research on Librella injections.
You're going really well with your weight loss @Obelix-Vendée.
@lizzie27 your son sounds a good cook!

Greetings! Physio this morning then dumping goodies at the charity shop which has an occasional lady selling veggies. She had cavolo nero. Can't tell you how exciting that is. I never see it on sale here and the pesky snails ate all my babies last spring. It remains to be seen whether sowing it in autumn works for a quick crop.

Everything crossed @AuntyRach . Hope it goes well.

I'd love a visit to the Old Vicarage @Busy-Lizzie. Have a great time and enjoy your lunch.

No cheeseburgers for me @Ladybird4 . Not while I'm on this 5:2 lark and, if and when I do eat one, it'll be without the bun. Restaurants here do good burgers from named beef but I've never yet met a great bun. One or two places have burgers with a rosti instead of a bun and that is tasty but ruinous in calories. I'd have to do 2:5 after one of those.

I hope you can get your pooch sorted out @Penny_Forthem and that your pain is lessening @Tui34

Supposed to be sunny but isn't. I'm going to cut back that muelenbachia to let it wilt and then sand down an old painted desk - too small for Possum's new computer set up - and use it as a crafting desk in the annex.

OH says there's a rather large Western Whip snake in my nursery barn and it hissed when he disturbed it so I'm staying clear till it moves somewhere warmer.

I did see the moon at bedtime last night, bright and clear and too early for the partial eclipse.

                        Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen.

Great news about how well things went with the tooth filling @Penny_Forthem . Hope all went well at your art group yesterday.

@Ergates - you aren't nagging at all. I very much appreciate your kind concern. I hope your cold will completely vanish soon.

Very beautiful patchwork, and you did a great job on the chest of drawers too @Obelix-Vendée . Thank-you for sharing those photos.

I think what I'm doing wrong is waiting for the migraine to develop. I will try follow your sage advice next time I feel one coming on @LG_ .

Hope your eye continues to improve @Busy-Lizzie .

Glad you had a great vacation and are now home safe and sound @redstar .

Very best wishes for your exam today @AuntyRach .

Happy to hear that you are having such a wonderful time in Northumberland @Blue arbour .

The dry settled weather continues. Cloudier today, so cooler, but still very pleasant. Migraine-free again today :hapydancsmil:

I have a reasonably large collection of paint tins, each of which have around 1-3" of paint left in the bottom of the tin. I also have a pair of car inspection ramps (left behind by the previous owner of this house). I removed the surface rust from them (the inspection ramps) this morning with a wire brush, and - barring unforeseen developments - I intend to paint them tomorrow morning with some yellow paint (the paint is a brand named after a tool designed for driving nails into wood, with the suffix -ite added). Of course there won't be enough paint in any one tin to cover them completely, so they will probably end up multi-coloured... :)

Best wishes to all as always.

                          Good afternoon,

We’ve had another fine, sunny day in Northumberland. Slightly cooler than yesterday but still very pleasant. The lady in the museum today said it had been very wet and cool last week, so we’ve been very lucky with the weather this week so far.

No, @Ladybird4, we didn’t go into the poison garden this time, as the queues were very long and there was no shelter from the hot sun whilst waiting. However, we’ve been in it twice before on previous visits and found it very interesting - so many well known plants can be very poisonous indeed, can’t they? We didn’t go to the castle this time either, although we’re thinking we might go tomorrow or Friday. There are so many good places to visit and not enough time to fit them all in. Never mind, another visit will happen at some point, I’m sure.

I hope the exam was ok today @AuntyRach :fingers crossed:. You’ve studied hard, so I’m sure you will have done well.
