Great stuff @AuntyRach and very well deserved I'm sure.

We liked Northumberland too but it's quite a few years since we went. Enjoyed the Poison Garden, knew most of them but not others. Came home and binned all my wolfbane as I didn't want to take a chance with the smallish grandchilden or indeed future garden owners.

Glad you enjoyed your lunch out @Busy-Lizzie. I believe East Ruston Gardens was on GW a week or so ago and I was sorry to have missed it. Would love to visit next time we're in Norfolk.

I finished planting up the patch around my new Deutzia, two Erigeron K. and 3 lots of Carex.
I wanted to give the Deutzia plenty of room and can easily rearrange those plants next Spring if need be.

    Have a good evening everyone.

I have had a very busy day today. Got a load of washing done, baked two lemon drizzle cakes for coffee mornings - they are in the freezer now. Made big inroads into planting bulbs but still have many more to do. Thank goodness it has been such a lovely day.

@Penny_Forthem, how did the pooch get on at the Vet's? I hope that there are some solutions you can use. It is such a worry when a much loved pet starts to show signs of aging.
@Badly_Maintained, I did laugh at your subtle way of telling us the name of the paint. I think multi coloured car ramps could start a new trend!
@redstar, sorry to hear you are having laptop difficulties. Hope its nothing major.

Signing out for tonight. Early start for me tomorrow as Bestie and I are on duty at the Food Bank all morning. Our stints there are further apart now as there are many more volunteers.

@Ladybird4 a lovely gentle Irish vet charmed Miss Maize, who has a morbid fear of such creatures.
She said she was very healthy for her age and agreed that Librella would probably help her hips.
Maize swiftly fell out of love with her when she saw the needle.
We have a 2 month trial and will take stock then.

                Well done @AuntyRach.

I hope the treatment works @Penny_Forthem.

i did not get my sanding done but I have made a ribollita for tomorrow and sorted out photos to send to a tree surgeon for an estimate. Now to tackle crochet and granny squares. Sewing is so much easier! Sowing too.

                    Congratulations @AuntyRach :yay:

We've had a lovely day. The Old Vicarage gardens were looking beautiful, still colourful. There were a lot of people there, had to join a long queue to get in at 12.30, just when I needed the loo! We chatted to another couple in the queue who were keen gardeners, but cutting down now because of age. They were from Suffolk. We had lunch in the café, I had a sausage roll and a Florentine, both very good. I will post photos tomorrow.

Congratulations, @AuntyRach ! Now you can relax...

At the beginning of October I'm going to our Scottish cottage, to paint the staircase and a bedroom. Because of the length of the journey (by public transport) I've booked a night in the Point A hotel in Glasgow. This afternoon I got a WhatsApp message apparently from the hotel, asking me to pre-register using a form linked to the message. I clicked on the link, and fortunately looked through the form before filling anything in... the form included my name, and asked for various details. It gave the price of my stay, which luckily raised alarm bells because I'd already paid a smaller amount when I'd booked. When I looked closely at the details of the form, it appeared to have been generated by a motorbike sales office in Bangalore! I immediately blocked the message and emailed the hotel, who confirmed that a "booking partner" (I'd booked through booking.com) had suffered a data breach, including names and phone numbers. Fortunately not bank details though! Hopefully clicking on the link won't have installed anything nasty on my phone... :dunno:

                                Morning all!

We had an old cassette tape of Paul Merton's choice of favourite comedy moments from the radio. We loved - and have transferred to the computer - part of a show by Andy Hamilton, I think, in which a gang of pirates were sticking up for their rights to their Captain. "Ever since pirates... begins, pirates always talk in the present tense, does pirates..." Eventually they tell the Captain that "we wants... a Training Day. And a creche..." Crazily off the wall but great. Anyway, I know how OH and I will talk today!

Thanks, @Ladybird4 - my phone lets me report and block a suspicious WhatsApp, which is really useful with spam and phishing. I was able to do a security check on the phone, too, which came back clear. :)

Book Club this morning. "Mapp & Lucia" by E.F.Benson. Gently funny...
