So had I @Busy-Lizzie but then Possum called and asked me to deliver her camera tripod to help a shoot she's doing nearby this pm as part of her video making and editing fill-in course. Got myself cleaned up to go out in public but then she called again and asked me to dig out our 3 from the hidey-hole in the study.

She's coming home for lunch and to fetch them.

Back into gardening clothes then but sanding, not planting. Too dry still and the weekend's forecast has changed so no soak in view. Humph!

        Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen.

Firstly CONGRATULATIONS to @AuntyRach ! :dbgrtmb:

Thank-you for your very good work at the foodbank @Ladybird4 .

Fingers crossed that the Librella will help Miss Maize @Penny_Forthem .

Looking forward to seeing your garden visit photos @Busy-Lizzie .

Sorry to hear of that nasty attempted scam @Liriodendron . I'm very glad to hear that your phone remains malware-free. Your book club has excellent taste.

Best regards to @Tui34 for a continued recovery.

        General all-round good wishes to @lizzie27 .

Another sunny, dry, settled and very pleasant day. I could get used to this. :)

Painted the car inspection ramps this morning with a - slightly bizarre - first coat of red oxide mixed with aluminium paint (red oxide is the paint blacksmiths use). I'm saving the yellow stuff for the topcoat tomorrow. Ordinarily I'm not one for bright paint colours, but I suppose car inspection ramps should be brightly coloured for safety reasons (and also 2" of yellow in the bottom of the tin is what I happen to have :)).

Best wishes to all, as always.

A mucky afternoon for me. Did some sanding but need OH to help me turn the desk on its back to do the front and so on. I then vibrated all the way down to the veg plot to clean out the hen house then back up again to rinse all thhe white paint dust off Sally. Note to self - tae car out of garage when sanding in the other half!

Having a cuppa before a shower. Yoga tonight. That's going to be a stretch - literally. Never done any before.

I always rather fancied a motor bike when I was younger @Liriodendron but not from a dodgy spammer. I hope the wetaher's kind for you in October for the journey at least. With that view you might not get any painting done.

I don't see why an inspection pit shouldn't be bright and gaudy @Badly_Maintained

Good afternoon everyone, congratulations to Aunty smarty, err I mean @AuntyRach :):)
@Liriodendron , I remember that sketch too, someone I worked with played it to us at a time when the NHS, was throwing "training" at us every 5 minutes or so .
We have just come back from bulb buying, we are fortunate that Jaques Amand ( specialist bulb importers) is not too far from us. The biggest problem is trying to restrain ourselves

We're chilling at the van. Got a gammon in the slow cooker and veggies roasting in the halogen (we do like gadgets!).
@Liriodendron you were quick off the mark there.
@RowlandsCastle is the rug still in situ?

Speaking of gadgets @Penny_Forthem Possum is trying to persuade me I need an air fryer. Not convinced. I just put the oven or hob on low when I need a slow cook.

I, personally, wouldn't use the air fryer for slow cooking (unless the dehydrator function).
We do (now there's a surprise) have a small round Lakeland one at the van, useful for heating pastry things in a hurry. I wouldn't rush to replace it.

I thought air fryers were for chips and roasting but I don't have one.

                      Well done, @AuntyRach!
Glorious day here. Sunny with blue skies, a bit of a breeze, but it was warm wind (despite seeming to come from the north) We took advantage of it, and spent almost all day outside, by the sea, and across the fields. Got home with just enough energy to change bedding and towels, and get some laundry on. However, I’ll need an early night after all that fresh air.
I love my airfryer, and couldn’t be without it. Great for chips for one, (OH loves them, but I’m not keen, so not worth putting the big oven on for a single portion) Great for jacket potatoes, chicken portions, fish ( with or without batter) I’ve even baked pies in it on the roast setting. I do have a small slow cooker, which I mainly use for making rice pudding, and the occasional stew/casserole.
Lots to read back through, but it sounds as if many of you are enjoying your travels.
We can relax garden wise for a day or two, both green bins were filled and emptied, so a fortnight off. The daffodil bulbs are still sitting on the worktop, I’ve moved them to a more prominent location as a reminder.

Yes, the rug is still in situ. However, my wife is searching for an alternative - apparently she would like it to be turquoise, and the full width of the hall. I'm holding my tongue!!

Good evening all. It was quite quiet at the Food Bank today - which can only be good - but I expect traffic will increase as the Winter creeps up on us. As usual we had the wonderful contributions from Tesco. The next time we are on duty is October 10th.
@RowlandsCastle, I think that is a fun name to be called. My nieces and nephews call me The Old Speckled Hen after an unfortunate experience I had with said alcoholic beverage on one of family holidays!

Pleased to read that your phone is safe @Liriodendron. I'm sure I remember a TV series about Mapp and Lucia.

Interesting reason for what you are called, @Ladybird4
Mine comes from the need for an eye patch, following a fall due to my epilepsy. Said niece didn't fully understand at the time, so I went along with it.
I've been given various pirate gifts over the years, and I treasure them all.
