This is Possum time @Ladybird4. I'm not about to argue dates if she's got it into her head that things need a deep clean.

As for cats finding cosy corners @AuntyRach my two are not normal. I left out a cat-sized cardboard box and neither has gone anywhere near it. haven't even looked at it! Mind you, they do have cosy spots all over the place.

@AuntyRach, one hundred bulbs to go. I know, I know, it was one of those 'OMG what a bargain! I just have to have those!' moments. My back is already starting to groan. I'm pleased I have a long handled bulb planter. It really makes the job easy.

We've not had any thunderstorms - not even any rain. My wife who was leading a walk near Maidstone, got rained upon.
She should have stayed at home and helped me in the garden!!

We've had a good day out and lunch out with our car club friends at a canalside pub, 10 of us altogether. It's our wedding anniversary so we treated everybody to drinks to celebrate. Fortunately for us half the party were the drivers so the bar bill was quite reasonable!
We had sunshine and managed to dodge the heavy showers whilst we were inside the pub.
OH gave me a beautiful bouquet of mixed pink/cream/white flowers, some of which I don't recognise, the florist he uses are very imaginative in their flower displays.
We've just had baked beans on toast washed down with the left over fizz!

                    Congratulations @lizzie27. :hapflowers2:
We are home now after a lovely week in Northumberland. Weatherwise, we have been so lucky. It started to turn yesterday, with mist and fog rolling in (although it didn’t stop our visit to Bamburgh), but before that, we’d had lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. We left Bamburgh about 3 pm as the sea fret seemed to be gaining in intensity and we wanted to get back to Wooler before it got too bad. We had a look around the lovely church and the Grace Darling museum, then enjoyed a very nice tea cake and cuppa at the Copper Kettle cafe. We’d visited the castle when we were up there in May, so gave it a miss this time. We’d packed a sandwich, so had that before we set off for Wooler.
We broke our homeward journey today with a visit to my sister and her OH, (they live approx half way), it was so nice to have a good catch up, as it’s been a while since we saw each other.
The week has flown by. Anyway, back to routine tomorrow, when I’ll finish unpacking & put the washing machine on.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs @lizzie27. A bit late to wish you a Happy Anniversary - it sounds as though you've already had one! We had baked beans on toast this evening too.

Its official, Autumn has arrived. I was smiling yesterday as my Crescent was full of the big, crispy purple leaves that had finally detached themselves from my Acer. @Blue arbour, what a lovely time to have had and the catch up with your sister must have been especially nice.

                            You're probably right @Ladybird4
I did some things that my wife would have left for another day. I got stuck in. - and have the cuts and scratches to show for it.
And I still have to tackle the fallen tree, as well as the dead one that is holding much of it up.
When will the birds vacate their nests??

Good Morning everyone and welcome Autumn equinox.

I was just looking at sunrise and sunset times (see weather thread if you interested, as people often post those) and noticed that although today is equinox, it will be Wednesday that is the closer to 12 hours each of night and day here.

                              Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

                                Good morning all!

Thank you all for your kind comments......making progress but today is definitely not a good day for people with bung joints!! Very humid and damp, expecting dribble rain. Grey and dismal. Oh well! Inside games.

Is it too early to take cuttings from roses etc?
