Good morning @Tui34. I hope you had a better night last night.
I have just heard the sad news of the passing of Dame Maggie Smith. I did so love that lady in any film she appeared in.

      Good Morning all.

It’s a beautiful morning here and the blue sky is very welcome.

I’ll do a SM run this morning and then more garden pottering this afternoon.

I hope everyone has a pleasant weekend. Get those bulbs in folks!

Good morning. Bright and sunny here with a gentle, southerly breeze so I'm off outside to carry on planting what I started on Tuesday then maybe some weeding of one of the beds where I want to plant bulbs.

Tomorrow will be dull but dry. I hope it's drying up across all those places in the UK who've had monsoon quantities of rain.

I was sorry to learn that Dame Maggie Smith has died - great actress and funny lady.

          Good morning all,
It’s a beautiful day today, bright and sunny. Theres a bit of a chill in the shade, but in the sun it’s quite pleasant.
On raffle duty again later today for church funds. I’m hoping the nice weather will coax people to come along.

Bright and sunny here too. Not much of a breeze, but there are leaves from the whitebeam everywhere in the garden - except under the whitebeam!!

Well I have been driven indoors again - for the gazillionth time this year - as rain has stopped play. It was so nice earlier on with sunshine and blue skies, though the house roofs over the road had a thin rime of frost. I think it will be a crafting afternoon now once I've had a hot shower.

Clouding over here now but it was sunny and warm enough to do my planting in the bed by the gates earlier then I came in for lunch and it all changed.

Sanding this pm. I need to do a swift sweep with a fine grade on that mahogany chest and then finish sanding the paint off on old desk I plan to use for crafting in the annex. Possum had it in Belgium but the packing tape used to keep the doors closed in transit left stripes in the paint so it's going back to wood.

I really don't want to be thinking about frosts yet @Ladybird!

Our trees are still green @RowlandsCastle but, oddly, the evergreen bay and the fig tree are turning yellow and dropping leaves.

                  Afternoon everyone.

Definitely autumnal here now, with leaves pattering down after another cold night (2.6). Yesterday I gardened in my winter coat, and my hands (inside gardening gloves) were numb... today I might revert to a jacket for this afternoon's dead-heading session, because the wind has dropped and it's several degrees warmer... it might be the last gardening day for a week or so, according to the forecast, which is for unremitting rain. :noidea:

Hedge trimming and the marathon tidy up done, all showered and the loungewear is on! I’ll make a start on the dinner next - chicken and veg tray bake, and I’ll spice up with either harissa or maybe Chinese spices…

Have a smashing evening folks. Strictly anyone?

The very one. Thank you for enlightening me @RowlandsCastle
i had a wonderful afternoon yesterday, though it did provoke a few tears. I'm not usually prone to them!
I'd taken a few old photos with me - and one (the only one with me and my Taid) suddenly reduced me to quite a wreck.
                      No sloes anywhere though.

                            Hello all.
We are back from the Malvern Autumn Show. Our Norfolk cottage was a bit chilly but OH has lit the wood burner and put the heating on.

We had a good day yesterday, didn't rain but it was cold. Glad I had my winter anorak. The grassy areas were very wet but the paths were all surfaced as it's a permanent showground. We split up a bit when we wanted to look at different things and arranged meeting places. Flo and Bjay (the names they used on the GW forum years ago) wanted to look at bulbs so OH and I went to the floral marquee. Later OH wanted to look at vintage cars and tractors so the girls went to see crafts and giant veg. The veg were fun but looked inedible!

After the show we went to Bjay's for cake and a cuppa and to say hello to her OH.

I'll put photos on the garden visits thread but here is one to be going on with.
