Good morning one and all. Windy and rainy here! Grrrr!
    National Love People Day.jpg
My friends and I are running a quiz on October 25th so I'm meeting up with them this morning to discuss the format. If it's drier, I'll walk round to their house otherwise I may have to get the car out.

      Morning all.

It has been raining. Doesn't look like a gardening day. At least the house is a bit warmer inside, 17C. It was 15C yesterday morning. I'll put on a heater when we go down for brekkies.

OH will be ringing heating people and a plumber for new bath taps. They've got very stiff. I must do some HW.

Good morning. Raining here, and just seen my wife off to work. Indoor jobs today, and a couple of errands to run (well, walk really)!
I've even been tasked with preparing dinner - so I'm not sure how edible it'll be.

The forgotten one!! I found it hanging amidst the now overgrown tomato plants. I hope it isn't bitter - but I have a feeling, going by the colour that it will be!!

            Good morning,
Raining here too, so I’m pleased that I got a few gardening jobs out of the way yesterday.
I’m sure your meal will be delicious @RowlandsCastle.
Coffee morning group today and a prescription to collect afterwards, then I’m not sure what I’ll be doing but a pile of ironing awaits, so it’ll probably be that that I do.

@Busy-Lizzie You're probably cold because you are tired. Stay warm. It's lovely down here if a little overcast. Mild autumn weather.

                Morning all.

Dry here at the moment so I need to shoot out and do the shopping before it rains again...

Other than that, today will be spent wrestling with a problem with the holiday cottage's water supply, which has failed the council's microbiological tests...

Hope you find a heating engineer quickly, @Busy-Lizzie .

We have rain and blustery winds. Supposed to be cloudy but dry!

I hope you can get your boiler fixed soon @Busy-Lizzie. meanwhile dig out your thermal undies. Important to stay warm.

I'm off to patchwork club this afternoon but I did lots of wqashloads yesterday in case OH can't get out in the garden. I'm sure there'll be some golf or cricket on somewhere while he irons and he has the Americas cup recorded.

We decided to watch Ludwig last night after the Strictly results but found we only had 8 minutes recorded as the signal failed. Fortunately, it's repeated in the small hours on BBC2 on Wedensday morning so that's set to record.

Love your coffee poster @Tui34 and agree your cucumber looks suspect. Good size tho. I found 3 small courgettes hiding in the stems when I pulled the plant up yesterday. They're the pale Italian ones so easy to lose in the stems. They'll get roasted as part of a veggie dinner tonight.

Hope you enjoyed your roast @AuntyRach. We had parsnips too.

I shall send your picture to Possum @Ladybird4. She has two colleagues who are fashionistas and talk of nothing else. Finds them very wearing.

Have a peaceful/fun/productive day as needed everyone.

                    Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen,

I hope your boiler woes are sorted out very soon @Busy-Lizzie .

I wish your OH every happiness with his new car @lizzie27 .

A grey rainy day. The local GP surgery are performing Winter influenza vaccinations on Wednesday, but I seem to have got a bit of a chill at the weekend, so I'll only attend if I'm 100% OK (it isn't the end of the world as I will be able to go on Wed. next week if I miss this week).

Nice to see Frances Tophill presenting GW on Friday night.

Best wishes to all as always.

Good afternoon everyone, grey and wet here too, it's supposed to dry up but we'll see. After all that rain at the end of last week it did feel a bit bizarre on Saturday, back and forth with nearly 20 cars of water, except these had the nematodes for vine weevil. Hope it works, certainly no issues with keeping the soil and pots damp at the moment. Got to Allotments yesterday but only to pick a few things, it's taken all year but I'm finally pulling some nice radishes, a long variety called pink dragon.
Have a good rest of the day.

Thank you for the encouragement, @Blue arbour
I forgot to brush the pieces of pepper with oil, before putting them in the oven, which meant they came out charred. They went with one of the other veg - chard!!
Still, it wasn't a total loss.

I managed other errands/jobs - summer duvets to the cleaners, returned our train tickets for to/from Edinburgh, since we're now going by car, did the ironing, washing, and started packing.

A chilli is burbling in the slow cooker. I braved the rain to collect Bramleys and they're cooked. When the g'kids arrive, I'll get them to make a sponge topping. Must remember I'm on a diet :)
Lots of local flooding, thankfully none seems serious.
I never had parsnip until I was in my 30s. Not sure if it were mum or dad who vetoed it, but the revelations of roast parsnip were amazing. It's a regular on our plates.
Does anyone else have any problems with loose loo seats? However much it's tightened it come loose pdq.

There are some gadgets that stop loo seats moving about, can’t think if they’ve got a proper name but they’re available online:yes:. They’re rubbery shapes
