A very good morning to everyone. Thank you both @lizzie27 and @Penny_Forthem for your tips re the NHS App. I obviously didn't sweat or swear enough! I will keep trying.

Good morning @Tui34. Loving that picture of yours and boy would I love to be enjoying a breakfast like that instead of my 'cardboard' cereal! I wonder if having pretty daisies on your saucer makes your tea taste even better than usual.

Good morning everyone. Sunny here but chilly tho we'll get to 16C later.

@Ladybird4 Go to work (or play) on an egg. Much better for you. I start my day with a small glass of blood orange juice and then a large black coffee. Liquorice and mint tisanes after that and food at lunchtime and dinner.

Our health records in Belgium were computerised a couple of decades ago and all joined up so my GP received an automatic copy of bood tests and any hospital interventions. When I had my cervical disk surgery and feet corrections I went straigh to the consulatnts without needing a referral.

In France I have to go to a GP first but can then choose where I go for treatment. Again, the system is joined up but for the last couple of years we've had access to our records and can now update missing info online ourselves.

It's a lovely day for gardening here but we're off out and need to be clean for a "lunch dance". It's to be paella so we'll need to dance off some calories.

Hope you all get a lovely sunny day.

After walking Rob I spent most of the day driving from one GC to another trying to track down a very large drip saucer for the huge sage bush I acquired recently, a wooden circular plant trolley to stand it on and some Lilium Regale bulbs. I managed to find a ceramic saucer, at huge expense. I am going to look online for the trolley and bulbs, apparently I have to wait until after Christmas for the bulbs. I finally remembered to use the Garden gift voucher my son gave me for my birthday.
By the way, Aldi have their first Christmas goodies out with their Halloween stuff.
By the time I got home I was shattered, had a line caught fresh mackerel with bread and butter for dinner, it was delicious but a bit small. Should have bought two. Simply cooked in butter and served with a little vinegar. Too tired to do anything fancy with it.

I think "storm in a teacup" might be appropriate Lizzie. Didn't a war start over a teacup, or was it just tea?

              Morning all.

It isn't raining and there is some blue sky.

@Obelix-Vendée I didn't know we could access our records. How do you do that?

The boiler man and an Internet fibre man should come today. I will have to dig up a Brunnera and an Alchemilla molls in the front garden to make room for the trench.

                Good morning,

A brighter start today, though quite chilly as the heating has come on. At least it’s dry for now. We went South yesterday to visit family for the day and the fields were absolutely flooded in places, especially around Lincolnshire and into Peterborough. It has been bad enough near us, but it looked worse there.

No Pilates class today, so I think I will do some on my own later, otherwise I’ll get out of condition before the next class.

Not sure yet what the plans for the rest of the day are going to be other than a SM shop.

OH has the shower to fix - the lever which allows adjustment of the shower hose and head has snapped and required a new one which came yesterday, so he’ll get on with that later. When I got in to use the shower, not realising the lever was broken, the head just spun around aimlesslessly, splashing water everywhere except onto me . Good job we’ve got a bath as well.

@Busy-Lizzie you go into your account on Mon Espace Santé.

I think I need a pot of lilium regale @Goldenlily26. Thanks for the nudge. Ther was a war that started over an ear! The ear was an excuse but real, nonetheless - War of Jenkins' Ear - Wikipedia

No pilates class here @Blue arbour but Possum has an app she's following and we have yoga this evening. I really need to work in time for daily exercises myself to benefit fully and then I can give up the weekly trek to physio.

I have 2 large pots outside my conservatory door which I like to fill with scented lilies. Next to a Gertrude Jekyll rose. Scent all the way. I am planning to underplant the lilies with scented jonquils to extend the season.

                      Morning all.

I'm home alone for a few days as OH is in the UK on his monthly trip (staying with our son & family, and conducting a choir rehearsal on Sunday). I'm happy on my own, though I'll be glad to see him back on Monday. For a few days it's nice not to have to worry about mealtimes if I'm busy with a job!

We have a bit of sun. The grass should be dry enough to mow this afternoon, all being well...

I think maybe we have been lucky @Penny_Forthem . My OH's meds used to be requested via the Health online thingy when we were in England but when we moved here the pharmacy (Boots) suggested they request it for him and send him a text every month when it's ready. So far it's worked. My own prescription is for stoma supplies and that is requested from the Doc by the delivery company every two months.:fingers crossed: It might be an idea to see if you could organise something similar with your pharmacy:fingers crossed:

Afternoon everybody, it's been a glorious day here for a change, sunny and hardly any breeze and up around 16c by 3.30pm.
Actually had time and desire to do some gardening so have been weeding, collecting leaves and usual autumny jobs. OH has washed the windows - which were really dirty after the big storm we had last week and then mowed the lawns. I've still got the privet hedge to cut but hope to get that done tomorrow.

Your description of the health service in Belgium and France make me want to weep @Obelix-Vendée, why, oh why can't the UK get its act together. Why I am waiting 18 months for new hearing aids?

I also enjoy the occasional 'home alone' scenario @Liriodendron. As you say, it's great not having to get the meals ready or even thinking about them.

@Goldenlily26 , glad you managed to get the size saucer you needed in the end but surprised you weren't able to source a plastic one which would have been lighter - or did you not want plastic in the first place? I like the idea of your lily bulb pot underplanted with jonquils. I've just rescued two pots with Nerine Lilies in but unfortunately the emerging flower stalks have been got at by snails/slugs. Took my eye off the ball evidently!

Hope your boiler is mended soon @Busy-Lizzie but shame you have to dig up your plants first.

Good afternoon everyone. I am a little bereft today as my little cat Cricket has gone missing. When I got up this morning he wasn't around but that is not unusual for him. Knowing I was going out to Bestie's to have my hair done, I put out his food for him. When I got back home this afternoon there was still no sign of him and his food hasn't been touched. I've spoken to all my neighbours asking them to keep an eye open for him. One of them has posted something on Facebook for me as I do not 'do' Facebook. I'm keeping fingers crossed that he turns up safely.
Hope your boiler has been sorted out now @Busy-Lizzie. I think we are in for some cold weather soon. Love the sound of all these scented flowers.

Not only with you @lizzie27 on the uk getting its act together, but Wales is woefully dreadful in the NHS department. English friends seem to be booking covid jabs, while Wales fiddles!!
However, the sun has shone today and we've made the most of it with a bbq (hub just finishing it off) and tapas.
                              Mmm, jonquils...
