      Morning all. I must admit I used the ‘snooze’ button this morning. I’ve read you can’t ‘bank’ sleep, and that it’s better to have the same sleep/wake routine every day but a good lie in on the weekend seems to set me up for the week. I think I go against my natural rhythm/instinct by getting up at circa 6am most mornings (for work).

      Have a pleasant Sunday folks :recliner:

        @Blue arbour , it’s right at the very bottom of the page, on the right hand corner. It’s very small so get your glasses out! I use it now to save scrolling up and up to the top of the page again.

              Hello and good morning everyone. May I join you here? I was JanetFoss on the GW forum and was a bit of a sporadic poster. It's a real shame that forum is closing but I am delighted you lovely people have found a new and very welcoming home.
              I joined here some time ago, then life got in the way but I hope I can resurrect myself into a more frequent contributor here!
              It's a damp day here but not too bad if I wrap myself up- I am a keen gardener who would love a bigger garden, but nontheless take a lot of pleasure from my small space. I love flowers and Spring brings joy to me.
              Have a lovely day all, whatever you are doing.

                @AuntyRach I know that's what they say, but my son certainly seems able to 'bank sleep' ... being in the music/entertainment industry sometimes he can sleep for a couple of days, just waking for coffee (and a smoke grrr!) and an occasional meal ... then he'll work virtually 24/7 for several days to set up and run a festival stage or series of concerts , or manage a tour. He's always been able to sleep for England, even as a small baby. His sister WonkyWomble didn't get that gene ... I think my late Pa also had that ability ... at harvest time he'd work all the daylight hours there were ... but at other times of the year he could sleep for England ... Ma said she was amazed the first time she was invited to Sunday lunch with his family ... after the meal the entire family slept and she just sat there and watched them ...

                  Morning all :biggrin:
                  Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh! (Happy St.Patrick's Day!)

                  I offer first a little poetry:

                  The Lake Isle of Innisfree by W. B. Yeats

                  "I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
                  And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;
                  Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee,
                  And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

                  And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
                  Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
                  There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
                  And evening full of the linnet’s wings.

                  I will arise and go now, for always night and day
                  I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
                  While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
                  I hear it in the deep heart’s core."

                  If Sir/Madam doesn't care for poetry, I offer instead some music:

                  If Sir/Madam cares for neither music nor poetry, well... how about this then:

                  Have a wonderful day everyone :dbgrtmb:

                    Good morning to you all. I am a long time lurker of BBC and GW gardening forums. I had signed up to Gardeners Corner some years ago and had forgotten my password. All resolved now. I am always a bit scared to post but will try to do better in the future. Regards to you all

                      Such sad news, just heard Steve Harley has died.
                      Come up and see me, make me smile.

                            Hi all. Your post reminded me of a joke @Dovefromabove - how to fall asleep in a chair if you are old? Be old, sit in a chair.
                            I try to resist dropping off in front of the tv though but sometimes it's irresistable!
                            Not much chance of that today though - too wet to attempt another go at dividing the miscanthus I dug up the other day and more pressing work on the latest funding bids to be done.
