    Morning all,
A lovely sunny start to the day here. Chilly, but good for a walk if wrapped up.
House alarm being checked today as it’s ready for its annual service, so OH waiting in whilst I pop out for an hour shortly.
    Good photos @RowlandsCastle.

Thanks Ladybird, Rob's eye seems slightly better today and he is also a bit brighter in himself. From what the vet said we are in for the long haul to get on top of the ulcer. Apparently
Shi T Zu's, Lhasa Apso's and are very prone to eye problems so I guess I have been lucky with Rob he hasn't had problems earlier. He is such a stoic little fella, never makes a fuss, he has a reputation for being very laid back with the vets. Not needing tranquilisers etc before treatment etc. When he is hurt or in pain he never whines or groans, I have to be very aware of what is going on with him and picking up signals all is not right with him.

You have had an orgy of castles, @RowlandsCastle! Very pleased Rob is feeling a bit better and brighter, @Goldenlily26. Glad to hear you are on the mend, @redstar, sounds like you have been so uncomfortable. Looks like I’m not the only poster on here who attended the London, in ‘sunny Whitechapel’! My sister trained as a nurse there, and met her husband, who was a student dentist in my year. It has changed beyond all recognition since our days.
Yesterday was a write off. I lazed around until morning coffee, then went back to sleep until 3pm. Got up long enough to make dinner, then lights out at 9pm. We were both feeling rather off, suspect it was the aftereffects of Saturdays jabs. I slept well though, and up at the Donkeys for a walk. Waterproof footwear today, after last nights rain. Looking forward to hearing about your river cruise, @Busy-Lizzie. I’d love to go on one, but OH is allergic to other people, and they are easier to avoid on the big ocean ships!

Good morning. It's grey here and feels damp but is set to clear and get to a "feels like" 24C later and more of the same tomorrow before normal service resumes on Wednesday. I have patchwork at Les Sables this pm and have made an experimental chocolate cake - chickpeas replace the flour and dates and banans provide the sweetening. We'll see.

We can get our flu jabs from tomorrow but need to make an appointment to have the Covid boosters done locally. Will get that organised this week as Covid is on th erise again and I definitely don't want flu.

Hugs for you and Rob @Goldenlily26. Always difficult dealing with sick or injured critters as they can't speak. You too @redstar as you recover.

Have a happy Monday everyone, whatever your adventures.

Afternoon all, overcast and none too warm here so I'm wrapped up in a blanket. Didn't sleep too well, combination of acute indigestion and sore jabbed arms. Had my Spirometry test this morning and managed to achieve a 'normal' result which is good news.

Trying to summon enthusiasm to go outside to plant up Iris Ret. in pots with the new violas on top whilst the weather is dry. The other new plants can wait till tomorrow when it's supposed to be a bit warmer.

Sounds an interesting cake mix @Obelix-Vendée, hope the patchwork class like it.

Good news that Rob is feeling better today @Goldenlily26.

Hope you continue to improve @redstar.

That's a very interesting castle @RowlandsCastle , whereabouts is it?

I was rather taken aback yesterday after I finished posting/browsing on this thread, when I accidentally logged onto the Bing chatbot, which commented on my garden site browsing and asked if I liked gardening!! So beware what you post folks, AI is reading - and remembering what you type. Spooky!

That is creepy, @lizzie27. Always wonder who is watching/ reading!
I was skimming through the ‘visage’book comments on an animal charity I support.( just looking as I’m not a member) Among the various comments about the animals, there were several posts from the same ‘name’ in response to obviously female posters, along the lines of, ‘sounds like you are fond of animals then?’ I assumed it was just a chat up artist trying his luck, hadn’t thought that ‘he’ might not even be human!

Afternoon all. I don't use Bing @lizzie27. I am in the process of knitting a baby jumper and today i managed to complete the second sleeve. All I have to do now is stitch it up and finish off the neckline. One of the coffee/tea ladies is expecting her 3rd baby in March. I must make a note to self to buy a new saw. I was attempting to saw through an enormous elderly rose today and realised that both my saws couldn't cut their way through butter. Swearing didn't work either!
I am quizzing again tonight and hope we manage to do better than last week. Signing out for today. See you all tomorrow. Enjoy your evenings.

Our Internet fibre is back. I use Google Chrome.

Tree man has been. He's cut masses off the huge laurel and thinned it, cleared it all up, shredded and taken it away. The sun has been out.

I've been sorting through clothes to take on the river cruise and done a clothes wash.

Home from patchwork club - tho no-one is doing patchwork at the mo. It's all embroidery, crochet and knitting at the mo with some apppliqué. Having a cuppa while I decompress. The 42km journey home can be interesting when there are eejits about.

The chocolate chickpea cake went down a storm with only two teeny pieces left for OH and Possum - Chocolate Chickpea Cake Two ladies told me they'd made the red kidney bean recipe from a couple of weeks ago and it all went very quickly. I think this one is better tho. I served both with a simple chocolate ganache.

I don't use Bing either Lizzie but I do use FB to follow certain groups of interest and keep in touch with one or two friends and family who don't do emails for some reason. Lots of algorithms and so on behind all that.

I hope you have some decent weather for your river cruise @Busy-Lizzie. I like tree surgeons!

We had another day in Edinburgh today. We took advantage of the sunny weather, and visited Holyroodhouse Palace, then after lunch, had a walk up Arthur's Seat. We didn't get to the top, but it was worthwhile.

Well, we were beaten in the quiz last night - not the pasting we got last week though and it was a very pleasant evening. We were given chip barm cakes at the break and these were very welcome. No major plans for today but I will be stitching up my baby jumper and hopefully finishing the neck line.

Good morning @RowlandsCastle and @Tui34. I like haggis @RowlandsCastle but can recommend cheesy chips. My nephew introduced me to these when he was living in Edinburgh. His then girlfriend, now his wife, was doing her doctorate at Edinburgh Uni. Best eaten outdoors overlooking the sea.
@Tui34, does that sweet little sugar cube know what fate awaits her I wonder?

                                Good Morning.

It’s a gloomy and misty morning here. It’s MOT day for me so a slight dread is also in the air.

Cheesy chips can be a delight, but some of my colleagues go mad for chips, cheese and gravy from the canteen. Not for me thank you.

                                Have a good day all.
