I went to physio this morning since I couldn't do my usual Wednesday. Still have problems with a couple of the tendon connections so he decided my new knee was old enough to go on the knee trembler machine to see if that helps.

It trembles everything from toes to head. Great for loosening up my sinuses after a recent mild cold. Strange, but I like it.

Lunch next then weekly shop as it's raining all pm but should be dry tomorrow.

We are now in our ship on the Danube in Budapest. Panic at the airport, OH's case went mìssing. Someone must have taken it by mistake, then dumped it. An airport staff man found it and took it to lost property where we were just declaring it missing.
The boat is lovely, comfotable and elegant, not modernistic.

 

Thank goodness for that @Busy-Lizzie, your OH might have had to borrow some of your clothes! Have a lovely cruise and send us photos please.

Never heard of a knee trembler machine @Obelix-Vendée , does it look very fearsome?

Interesting about the statins @Goldenlily26. I expect the pharmacist meant that they take up to a month to take effect though, not that the protection only last a month?

We've had our usual walk and done some gardening. Sowed some winter manure seeds on the veg beds and hopefully covered them over with netting to keep the birds/squirrels away. Now to do another stint of leaf collecting while it's dry and sunny still.

 

It's a programmable platform which vibrates @lizzie27. You stand on it with knees flexed and it just about shakes your fillings loose. Basic trembling for me this time but others get to do all sorts of exercises on it.

Thank goodness that case turned up @Busy-Lizzie. A relief for you both. Like the sound of your vessel.

Weekly shop done - cheap this week cos we're eating the freezer so no meat or fish and no cat or bird food needed either. However, I did spot 4 lamb's kidneys on the fresh meat counter and snapped them up. The butcher said he had 2 more at the back.... Yes please and they still had their fat so I've got that too and can make a suet pudding one day. These kidneys will be devilled on toast so I need to make some bread.

Oh popped into the pharmacy to get our flu jabs and they now do them straightaway after checking we're not allergic to egg proteins. No-one's ever asked that before. Tomorrow he has to go for a blood test and will book our covid boosters.

Grey here and supposed to be tipping down but it hasn't started yet. Very warm.

 

I’ve had a lovely day gardening and drinking cuppas outside and looking forward to a steak dinner. My sister and niece are taking me out for walk/lunch on Saturday so we are hoping for another dry day (please).

I hope you are all having a good day too - trips, chatting, walks, physio, vets or looking out for the full moon.

 

We've not visited any castles today, but had a walk along the Water of Leith.

Good evening all. Seems like you have had a lovely birthday @AuntyRach and a nice lunch to look forward to. @Goldenlily26, how did little Rob get on at the vet's? Each time I read your posts about Cushings Disease, Peter the actor kept popping into my head. When I was years younger I used to love watching him playing Van Helsing opposite Christopher Lee in the Hammer Horror Dracula films. I really hope the nuisance chicken is OK despite the skirmish with Rob.
Oh my goodness @Busy-Lizzie. That is so not the start to your holiday you wanted! Thank goodness your OH's case turned up. I hope you are both de-stressed now and that you have a thoroughly enjoyable cruise.
@Obelix-Vendée the knee trembler sounds like an ancient instrument of torture.Fingers crossed it does the job though.

Very late birthday wishes to @AuntyRach, hope the celebrations continue over the weekend. Got a walk before the drizzle started this morning, then a visit to a friend this afternoon, lovely to have a chat and a catch up. Glad your husbands case turned up, @Busy-Lizzie. We always share out our packing between our cases so that hopefully we both have some clean clothes if one bag goes missing. OH was a bit discombobulated one year though, when he had his case inspected, and it contained a couple of pairs of my high heeled shoes. I’m sure they’d have twigged that he couldn’t have got his big feet into them!

 

Morning all.

We are an hour ahead here. The bed on the ship is very comfy and dinner last night was delicious but small helpings which means I can have some cake at tea time. I was amazed at how much cake some people were eating yesterday!

The boat has been sailing in the night and we are going to look at Esztergom Basilica this morning.

The lit up views of Budapest, especially the Pariament building, last night were magnificent.
