It's raining here in North Yorkshire, but nothing atrocious.
Having just finished breakfast, I'm thinking about the 100 yard stroll to the pub for lunch, followed by the return waddle through the puddles.
Then a snooze, followed by tea, and bed.

My wife will probably factor in a walk sometime before the end of the day.
    Huh!!
She's not as old as I am, nor got a dodgy ankle.

      Morning folks.

Had a lovely walk yesterday but I’m feeling headachy and a bit yuk today so a PJ day is happening.

        Morning all.
We've just visited a pretty village in Austria where they grow wine grapes and apricots, Dürnstein.

          Good morning,
A damp and breezy one here today, but it doesn’t feel too cold yet. I don’t think we are meant to get the brunt of the storm here on the Eastern side of the country, but nevertheless it’s quite breezy. I hope those of you in the west have battened everything down, and don’t encounter any damage.
Church this morning then an indoors day, I think.
Beautiful photos @Busy-Lizzie, the autumn colours are certainly on show. I went to Austria many years ago, around the Innsbrook area. The scenery was stunning.
@AuntyRach, your photos are pretty, too. I hope your headache eases.
          Have a good day everyone.

A feast for the eyes with such lovely photos.
The weather is very quiet, up to now. I'd like to know the criteria for issuing weather warnings, as we are forecast winds up to 57 tonight, yet no warning. At other times, we seem to have them when the wind ventures over 45.
I do like my Sunday roast dinners, but am easily disappointed when I go out for them. Our friends suggested trying the newly reopened village pub today, but now they've cancelled, so it'll be very disappointing if it's not up to my exacting standards!!
Chicken and waffles day? Er, no thank you!!

Woke to rain this morning. It was a lovely day yesterday, last minute change of plans and collected son’s dog. Very pleased we didn’t leave it until today as it’s horrid out.
I suppose it’ll have to be housework today, there is a limit to how long I can ignore it for.
I took the dog for a walk down the lane last night, and saw several Earthstar fungi. I must take a camera with me when I go out with her today.
                Keep dry and safe, everyone.

Good afternoon everyone. Thank you so much for all the stunningly beautiful pictures, @Busy-Lizzie, @RowlandsCastle and @AuntyRach. I am so envious of those sapphire skies! I do get the odd glimpse here now and again but nothing that will reliably last for several days.

                    Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen.

                    Thank-you for your very kind words @Bluejayway , @Obelix-Vendée , @lizzie27 & @Ladybird4 .

This morning I saw a bumble bee with only one wing on the path behind the house. I lifted it up and put it on my forget-me-nots and it began to feed. I'm not sure what the most humane course of action would have been in that situation.

Storm Ashley seems to have arrived this afternoon. It seems an average storm so far hereabouts. The sea is raging of course, but at least the electricity is still on (he tempted fate boldly... :))

                    Very beautiful photos @Busy-Lizzie & @AuntyRach .

Best wishes to all as always.

Afternoon everyone, beautiful photos @Busy-Lizzie ,@AuntyRach and @RowlandsCastle.

Hope you feel better soon @AuntyRach and hope I do too! Woke up with vertigo and despite OH helping me to do the Epley manoeuver several times, it hasn't worked so far. Can only slow walk round the house with a stick and sit in a chair without moving my head.
The winds eased up by lunchtime and the sun came out but no gardening for me unfortunately, very frustrating.

Nature will take its course @Badly_Maintained , you did what you could for the bumblebee.

OH will have to cook the Sunday roast later.
Hope everyone in the North is safe.

Sunday roast exceeded expectations, well cooked, nicely presented and a good choice of veg. Unfortunately, I chose the same as hub; beef, turkey and pork and there was no small portion option - it was huge. I brought a doggy bag of meat home and left a lot of the veg.
Vertigo is so debilitating, @lizzie27. All you can do is sit and let your OH wait upon you. (you did the same for him)
                        Kind gestures as always @Badly_Maintained
The last of my crab apple jelly is bottled; good colour and good set.

Went into the local museum here in Pateley Bridge, to avoid the rain. One of the exhibits was this rather vintage hedge trimmer.

At least you little bumble bee will be happy with its meal @Badly_Maintained and who knows but maybe that very act will have pollinated your forget-me-nots so that seeds will be produced for next year.
So sorry to read about your vertigo attack @lizzie27. I can only imagine how disconcerting that must be.
You must have felt suitably impressed with the newly reopened pub @Penny_Forthem. I'm guessing you wouldn't say 'no' to visiting there again?
@RowlandsCastle, I'm glad I don't have to use that beast of a hedge trimmer. I bet it weighs a ton!

Good morning @Tui34 and all popping by soon. I might have to make a quick trip to the SM this morning. I think it might be dry outside as Cricket doesn't look like a drowned rat on his return for breakfast, so if it is dry I could be tempted to make that journey. Whatever you have planned for today, I hope its wonderful. Me, I'm just hoping for more beautiful pictures from @Busy-Lizzie :please:
