to @RowlandsCastle. I have a feeling (though it might just be indigestion!) that I think @Penny_Forthem's birthday is this week - or very soon??? Love the spiders webs.

Good morning everyone, just caught up again, you've been busy.
It's not just "days" years ago at one lab I worked in, one of the companies gave us an international desk diary. I started a running joke, "we shouldn't be working today, it's a public holiday in ...... wherever it was." It transpired that there is hardly a day in the year when it isn't a public holiday somewhere, especially countries that have a lot of saint days and similar. It's another version of the old excuse for a drink "because it's 5 o'clock somewhere "

Anyway dry ish but dull here better get on lots of tidying up to do in garden and on plots.
      Regards to all.

        Morning. You've all been chatty.
@Busy-Lizzie so sorry to hear you're poorly. Are you the only one suffering, or are there a few of you? I hope the pills do the trick for you and you manage to enjoy the rest of it.
We have got grand dog till Friday as they're away for part of this week. He'll have to come to the caravan with us for a few nights, but he's getting used to that, too!
Belated happy birthday @RowlandsCastle (you're right @Ladybird4, mine is next week!)
I'm off to my art group this afternoon. I just don't have an arty bone in my body at the moment!

Good morning everyone. Supposed to be dry and sunny here but we have a thick, damp mist that came down just after dawn and is taking its own sweet time to lift. I really need a couple of dry days so I can get the front island bed weeded and bulbed.

The two pussies definitely thinkit's autumnal nad have had 2 breakfasts! Building up their winter insulation no doubt. I hope Rob's eye is improving @Goldenlily26 and that the other meds work.

I've done that @Ladybird4 - got to dance class to find it cancelled and I would have known if we'd checked messages before leaving. Not entriely wasted journeys as we'd come home via the scenic route alog the coast to see what the Atlantic was up to. Very high tides at the mo, of the beachside restaurant flooding variety.

Sorry you're poorly @Busy-Lizzie and hope it clears up soon. Not a good sign if there are more of you suffering.

Patchwork admin then blouse sewing for me. Have a warm and fun day everyone whatever you're doing.

Morning all, a nice sunny one today.

So sorry to hear you're still unwell @Busy-Lizzie, do hope the pills work soon. I took photos of my roses which are still in bloom and will post them later on the Roses thread - might cheer you up a bit.

Happy belated birthday @RowlandsCastle, I'm not surprised your wife is all 'castled out' but glad you enjoyed your holiday.

Hope Rob is getting better even if it's slow @Goldenlily26. The coffee and walnut cake sounds heavenly and you deserve a treat right now. I've got the washing on now and am hoping it might dry later.

Thanks @Ladybird4, Pleased to say I'm feeling better today which is a big relief. OH is going to drive me to the surgery for a blood test later and I've been notified that my CT scan is a week today - very efficient of them.

I think we've all done that @Obelix-Vendée , gone to a meeting to find it had been cancelled, did it last year and had a 2 hour journey for nothing.

That's a great idea @Allotment Boy, I'll try to remember that when 5 pm comes around!

@Penny_Forthem Your mention of your art class reminds me of the Michael Mosley programme we watched last night. He was encouraging people to try something new for 20 mins each day - good for cognitive memory. I'm trying to think of something I could do.

Had a cuddle with a Wombat in an anima park near Townsville in Oz, many years ago. The reptiles - snakes, lizards and so on - at the desert zoo and gardens in Alice Springs were not at all cuddly but intriguing.

Good afternoon all. I had written a huge paragraph and then 'poof' it was gone. These keys are way too sensitive. Anyway I'll try and remember what I said and re-type. I decided to risk a wash load today and even if the cloth things don't dry completely at least they will have had an airing. I had an interesting time watching the Highway Maintenance people vacuuming huge amounts of 'stuff' out of the road drains in the Crescent. They then put what I am guessing is a fibre optic camera into the drains to check all was clear. Hopefully this will have sorted out the serious flooding we experienced last Wednesday when we had that monsoon type rainfall.
Glad you are feeling better @lizzie27 and it was good to hear that you haven't to wait too long for your scan.
@AnniD you a definitely NOT stepping on my toes so please keep posting pictures as cute as that one. Yes, I think wombats are very sweet and I love their furry noses though I do believe there is a bare nosed wombat too.

When I was in Oz @Obelix-Vendée, Perth to be precise, we visited an animal park and saw all sorts of indigenous marsupials including koalas and it was only then I learned that koalas are only native to the eastern side of Australia and not, as I thought common throughout.

@Ladybird4 The koalas were just a tad smelly and not too friendly when cuddled whereas the wombat seemed to enjoy it. We began our visit on Magnetic Island to get over he jet lag before visiting the Reef. Took a bus to see the island and the driver was a wag, pointing out the rare group of koalas in the trees of one lone house - all stuffed toys!

Plenaty of the real thing in a protected reserve near Canberra, since then all lots to bushfires unfortunately.

@Obelix-Vendée, we were stopped from holding the koalas because apparently these ones in the park were prone to getting quite stressed. We were able to hand feed treats to the kangaroos which was quite special. There was even an albino 'roo.

I have been invited to Oz twice; the first time was when son was on a gap year round the world trip and I'd just had an op, so couldn't go. The second time was when friends bought 300 hectares of bush in Tasmania (complete with Devils). Then covid came along, followed by hub's unwelcome illness.
I have swooshed the watercolours this afternoon in an impression of a doggy pawtrait. A few more swooshes, and it'll be totally unrecognisable
