    Good morning all!!

Dismal this morning and we are in for some rain this weekend. I hope so, as I would like to start ripping up plants next week. I have bread in the oven together with butternut (rosemary and garlic) aubergines and peppers which I will freeze for parmegiana. The peppers will get ripped up into strips to marinate with olive oil and garlic. Delicious on bread!

How are you feeling this morning @Busy-Lizzie I suppose as fate would have it - you are in fine fettle!! Yes @Penny_Forthem I have an olive tree - Luques - which are oval and meaty. I haven't done any this year but usually do around 5kg. of green olives. They are going black now and the birds love them.

    Have an enjoyable day!

Good morning all. I'm hoping today, to be able to walk the lawn mower around to collect the many fallen leaves. That should shred them and allow them to compost more quickly, and prevent the grass beneath from becoming mud or moss.
It's less effort than trying to rake them up. I don't have the energy!!
Got to return to the hospital in four weeks, but not looking forward to another 5am pick-up. Same again in December, January and February. So far.
Hope your quiz and hotpot go well, @Ladybird4

          Good morning all.

We went to bed at 8.30 last night and, apart from going to the loo, woke at 7.10am. OH didn't sleep as well as me because his cold is worse, he's sounding a bit hoarse.
OH has his Covid and 'flu jabs booked for today. I don't know if his cold will prevent that.

My tummy feels better than yesterday morning. I had some soup and toast last night.

          It's foggy outside.

I took Rob for an early walk and met up with about 20 of his canine pals. It was a bit like Crufts, so many dogs running around together. He was a bit overwhelmed. One of the dog walkers has been really ill after her Covid/Flu jab. She looked really unwell so I am not the only one suffering.
We then went on to the vet for a checkup on his eye and to collect the new tablets for his liver condition. Another blood test in 3weeks to monitor the effect they have.
I drove on to one of the local farm shops to buy some logs and fuel for the fire, took a second mortgage out to buy a new pair of walking boots.
I could hardly move for aching joints and exhaustion when we got home so did nothing for the rest of the day. Rob and I crashed out together.
Today is going to be a recovery day methinks.

Sounds like a day of relax and recoup for some, whilst others have jobs to do. I’m the former - hoping will be ready for back to work next week.

It’s a mixed weather day already here. It’s that awkward temp of shall I open windows or will that just being damp air in.

              Have a good day everyone.

We are grounded by thick fog/cloud. It was forecast to clear by now.
We had planned on lunch out followed by a visit to Ruthin. Best laid plans, eh?
Good job we stocked up at the farm shop yesterday.
Thankfully, we can run the dogs straight out of the van.

@Ladybird4 , glad they brightened up the start of the day. Those two are in pots and are always the first to turn, as I said earlier though they have both dropped all their leaves already this year in spite of being well watered. Lots of other things turning colour now Autumn is well underway. One of the things we keep meaning to do is go to N America for their fall, I believe it's quite special.

                    Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen.

Got some dust in my eyes on Tuesday and I've been having fun washing them out and using ointment, all to little avail. What finally restored normality was a walk on the coastal path this morning with the air full of sea spray.

Kudos to @Penny_Forthem for her good work with the Ukrainian refugees. Very skilled and beautiful drawing of your four-legged friend too if I may say so.

Belated Birthday wishes to @RowlandsCastle and to @Topbird , and hopefully your hsopital visits will all bring good news @RowlandsCastle .

Thank-you for all the beautiful photos @Busy-Lizzie . I hope both you and @AuntyRach will both feel better soon.

Best wishes too to @lizzie27 . I hope the vertigo will vanish very soon.

Really great poppy you have knitted @Ladybird4 .

Best wishes to all as always.

P.S. hope @Anna42 is OK. It has been a while since she has been on here.

My two ficus plants have gone off to their new home. Half the 13 strong gardening team came to welcome them and 2 chaps even helped unload them - Virginie came to collect them with Delphine - and one says he's usually good with cuttings and will have a go at benjamina and give me a baby if he gets any. I already have a baby rubber but never managed with the other.

After that a visit to Luçon's town centre garden - over 10 acres of trees, ponds and some lawns and beds - that is being taken in hand after years of neglect. Interesting project to revitalise that lot.

After the weekly shop I did some re-arranging of my houseplants and am now about to finish my blouse and then cut out another.

Dry now but heavy downpours this morning so we're "oozing" again but OH has cancelled golf tomorrow so we're going to go and cut clear circles round all the trees we've planted, put some bulbs in and then a thick layer of wood chips before more rain on Sunday.

I hope your Hot Pot night goes well @Ladybird4. I like your poppy. You live near some clever and imaginatiive ladies @RowlandsCastle.

Good health and bonny weather for all this weekend.

Good morning @RowlandsCastle and @Tui34. The Quiz and Hot Pot night was a success and we raised £365 for Church funds. It was a late night (for me) but the numbers of people who came up to thank us was reward enough. I loved every minute of it.
