      Good morning everyone.

The rain has disappeared but not the clouds. Daylight saving but not for animals and Fizz's watch says "Walkie time" so I will make the most of an early start.

      Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

        Morning all.

I slept in the guest room again. OH is very croaky but says he slept better than the night before. I think I may be getting his cold.

Good Morning to all and welcome GMT again.

Yes the animals don’t read the memo on the time change @Ladybird4 @Tui34 but… mine were up an hour later today!?!? I think it is because OH fell asleep on sofa so they had a cheeky snack late last night as they ‘ask’ for a treat if anyone gets up in the night.

It’s almost inevitable to catch a cold once someone in the house has one isn’t it @Busy-Lizzie.

          Have a lovely Sunday all.

            Good morning,

Another glorious day here so far with blue sky and sunshine. There’s a bit of a nip in the air, but otherwise a lovely autumn day.

We had a run out to Beningbrough Hall, near York, yesterday and the day was equally gorgeous- so mild for this far into October. It was lovely to see some young children with mini wheel barrows helping the gardener to collect fruit and veg grown in the gardens. I hope they were allowed to take some home with them.

A lazier day planned today whilst I adjust to the clock change. For some reason it throws me out of kilter a bit.

Hope you don’t catch that cold @Busy-Lizzie :fingers crossed:.

            Have a good day.

              Good morning ladies & gentlemen.

Hope everyone has remembered to move their clocks back an hour. :)

Bright start to the day, but rain forecast before lunchtime. Cooler than yesterday.

Most schools on this island, including all the local schools, will be closed for the coming week in observance of Hallow-e'en. There was a fireworks display down at the harbour on Friday evening which I forgot to mention. Unintelligent place to have it, but happily no-one fell into the water.

The chrysanthemums which have been threatening to flower for the last few weeks are finally beginning to do so (when I was first given them I mistakenly thought they were houseplants, but they struggled badly until I moved them outside).

@Tui34 I might be completely wrong, but was the tv programme with the amphibious plane and Jack Russell with the eyepatch "Bailey's Bird"? (Aussie, 1970s)

Best wishes to @redstar for a speedy recovery.

Thank-you for sharing your beautiful artwork @Penny_Forthem .

Glad to hear you had a nice day on the coast @lizzie27 . I'm a bit surprised by charges for loos and car parking. Surely if they were free it would attract more people and the more visitors they can attract, then the more thriving the town's businesses will be. Or perhaps I'm missing something.

Congratulations to your Daughter & Son-in-law on passing their Day Skipper course @Goldenlily26 . The adventure of the high seas now awaits them.

Hopefully your OH will recover soon, and you'll avoid getting his cold @Busy-Lizzie .

Best wishes to all, as always.

Morning from a gloriously sunny Wales.
I had 'my' extra hour this morning with coffee and dogs, catching up with FB friends and far flung rellies, while hub had 'his' extra hour asleep!
Nothing more exciting on the cards, except going to the pet store for more dog food! They go into kennels for 2 nights tomorrow, while we're away (old girl will hate it, but can't be helped, as DiL's parents, who normally have her, are away, too).
I shall finish getting all my tender plants into the GH this afternoon. My fleece is at the ready, as per Monty Don!

Good afternoon all. It has been a funny sort of day today. Coffee/Tea morning was well supported but I think I am going to have to make two tea loaves as they are proving to be the favourites. I was weirdly tired today - must have been the rude awakening! It has been drizzling quite a bit this afternoon after a pleasant start. Will you be tempted to go sailing with your daughter and son-in-law @Goldenlily26 - maybe next summer (if we have one!)? Looking forward to Strictly results later. Got my Covid vaccination tomorrow afternoon - hope my cough doesn't prevent me from having it. @Blue arbour, it must have been sweet seeing those little people pushing the wheelbarrows around - they would have reminded me of the seven dwarves.
I am signing out for this evening. Enjoy whatever you have planned and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.

                    Boo to the dark evening.

A few Acer pics from my garden to show it was a sunny today to contrast with the changing colours:

I have a few in pots too and some have shed already. In about 10 days time the big tree will be bright orange. My favourite tree in the garden.

@Obelix-Vendée, your plant story reminded me of the time, many years ago, when we adopted a banana plant from a friend of a friend. We had to drive some hours away to collect it, and drove back down the motorway in our 2CV with the plant sticking out of the sunroof! It lived happily for quite a few years.
Had to laugh at your description of your trip to Weston Super Mare, @lizzie27. When we lived outside Bath, we used to trundle down to Brean Down, just along the coast. I seem to remember we could drive the car onto the beach, however you had to be vigilant to get it off before the tide started coming in. There was only a short stretch of sand, then miles of mud, but the tide would come in really quickly. Cars would regularly find themselves overtaken by the sea, and have to be dragged back by tractor! However, the walk along the top of the headland was glorious, lots of birds, rabbits and skylarks, and the remains of an old fort at the end.
All the best for Rob tomorrow, @Goldenlily26. He is going to be so much more comfortable once he has had his op. It’ll be a great relief for you both.
Our granddog is being collected tomorrow. We have enjoyed having her, but it’s amazing how disruptive it has been to our usual routine. We have two empty green bins and the collection is on Wednesday morning. I suppose if I make an effort, I can at least rake up more leaves from the grass, might fill one at least.
Sorry you are still suffering, @redstar. Do you have a dictation function you could use? A friend found it useful when she broke her shoulder, but I have no idea how they work.
