We had a good lunch, just normal pub grub, in Long Melford. I didn't wear make-up! Wore jeans and a jumper. I have felt a lot better today, cough has eased.

Our friend was looking older, I expect we do too, but she seemed a lot more relaxed and happier than she did when she lived in France.

Good evening all. I decided to nip down into town (aka the bomb site) after I got my delivery from Iceland because the silly chatbot on my banking website couldn't give me any sensible answers to my questions despite me using my best Ladybird English and I figured speaking to a real, live human being could be the answer. It was. My concerns about the chatbot were duly noted too.

Great news that your cold is tailing off @Busy-Lizzie. I'm guessing your friend is now living permanently in the UK? That naughty boy @Goldenlily26. Hope his check up went OK today and I'm glad the handkerchief didn't cause any problems for him. Years ago my family had a springer spaniel called Marco and he was a scavenger. Whilst my brother was eating a peach, the stone shot out of his hand and landed on the kitchen floor. Marco pounced and swallowed it. He had to have an operation to remove it. We were very careful after that. Pleased to read you haven't any serious damage from your fall.
@AuntyRach, I am lucky in one sense where I live as we are an aging community so we don't tend to get bothered by trick or treaters - or random carol singers either for that matter. I just wouldn't answer my door anyway.

@Ladybird4 I shouldn't have, but I did laugh over Marco.
Our Bryn, when he was young, found a pair of my posh pants...with the inevitable result. Although he was insured, it cost us quite a bit of money. The vet asked us if we'd like to see what had caused the blockage. No, I said, I know what it is!
And @Goldenlily26 our springers are all tissue thieves.
          Dogs, eh?
Rob sounds like a stoic little dog.

Today, being the first Friday of the month, my Quiz friends and I are going out for lunch. Another new venue for us so I'm looking foward to that.
@Penny_Forthem we laughed too at Marco. He learned to open the fridge door until security measures were put in place and his party trick was to carry an egg (uncooked) in his mouth for ages until we said 'Eat it Marco' when he would then crack it open and slurp up the contents. We always did this in the garden of course. Hope work goes smoothly @AuntyRach

                    Good morning everyone!!

A beautiful sunrise and the promise of a sunny day which is nice as today is a national holiday being All Saint's Day. The cemeteries are decorated and colourful with chrysanthemums and flower arrangements family and friends leave on the gravesites. Tomorrow is All Souls Day.

White rabbits pinching and punching each other for good luck!! I remember my sister and I used to argue who said it first!!

Fizz did some colourful poos @Goldenlily26 when she was younger. It was from one of those woven rugs that I had brought back from India. She was nibbling at it slowly!!!

Terrible news from Valencia. So many disasters in the world!!

                    8F0B2902-03FC-499B-A707-818E72F58409.jpeg

I hope everyone has an enjoyable sunny day.

Good morning everyone. The disaster in Spain is astonishing. Such devastation is hard to fathom and recovery will take a long time and great heartache as well as courage. It's not that far away as the crow flies yet it's calm and mild and sunny here but it seems the Spanish storms came off an over heated Mediterranea sea rather than the tail ends of Atlantic hurricanes that we get.

                          Good morning all.

I usually tidy up first OH's grave in France and put chrysanthemums on it at this time of year, but I haven't been in France. It will have to wait until December. A friend's husband's grave is there too. She said she'd give it a trim. Some years ago I covered it with fabric, then gravel and planted alpines on it. I also planted the Silver Wedding Anniversary rose that 1st OH's sister gave us as he died soon after our 25th anniversary. Last year I dug up the rose and planted it in my new garden as it was suffering since I moved house, too far to water it enough in a French summer. It survived the move despite it's age, 24 yrs and is doing better.

We are off to the SM soon, weekly shop, then I have a load of ironing to do.

Thank you to all who voted for me in the October photo competition.

Good morning all . Just back from visiting the nearest branch of my bank in Margate. I dislike the hustle and bustle, and was glad to catch a bus back to the village.

I think a lot of dogs like to find tasty morsels to eat/chew. I have to check Rob's bed regularly to see what he has stashed away in the corner. I have found all sorts of "treasures" tucked away, biros, biro tops, tissue hankies, my hankies, knickers, toilet roll tubes, food wrappers etc. etc.
He has developed an infection in his eye wound which means regular swabbing which he hates, off course. I thought falling in the pond might put him off using it as drinking bowl but he was out there again quenching his thirst, which the cat does as well. I think they can smell the chemicals in tap water. He is eating and drinking well so cannot feel desperately ill. I think I feel worse than he does, on his behalf.

I am still sore from my tumble, I am too old to be throwing myself about with gay abandonment! My main problem was getting up, I was like a beached whale, not a pretty sight.

I have just bought my first charity Christmas cards and a couple of presents. I am going to ask my daughter if she fancies a trip down to Burncoose Garden Centre to buy me a Christmas present, a Chimonanthus or Corylopsis. They are waiting for them to come in. I still have a few pounds left on a gift card from my son so I will put that towards whichever shrub my daughter does not give me. She phoned yesterday afternoon to see how Rob and I were, she was driving home to Cornwall from just outside Worksop! She reckoned it would be another 4-6 hours before reaching home.

Picked a few more tomatoes yesterday, plus a couple of cucumbers. I must try and have a session in the garden today to clear the weeds growing around the paths so Rob can find his way around and not get his bucket caught.
