    Afternoon all.

A bit of sunlight today so windows have been flung and washing on the line - those days will be few and far now we deep into November. Frosty next week.

It’s the last of the super moons for this year tonight - The Beaver Moon.

I don’t really watch Children In Need but have been following Paddy’s bike ride as I listen to radio 2 in the car. An amazing amount of money raised by him - about £ 7.5 million!

I hope everyone is doing ok. Have a lovely rest of the day.

@AuntyRach same here. He started in Wrexham and cycled not far from us, so it was all over local news.
I slept badly too, but because of my dear OH shouting in his sleep. He woke himself up too, but then went back to sleep and snored!
Lots of talk about snow, but I really hope we don't get any here. I have a busy sociable week planned and I am no longer brave driving in snow.
Just waiting to hear that the car's ready to collect (fingers crossed!).
Hooray, just as I typed that, the phone went...

Afternoon all. Good to read that Rob is getting back to his cheeky little self @Goldenlily26. I hope that last chook learned its lesson. Hmmm, I wonder if arable farmers know that they are practising horticulture? It has been cold and drizmal all day today here though the early fog did lift. I haven't done too much outside because of the cold but I have finally filled up the bird feeders - front and back and took my stepladders into the GH to close the top lights for the last time this gardening year. Everything still in there is looking OK and there are still a few tomatoes ripening up. I think I'll remove them tomorrow. It was too cold to linger. Hope you had a nice meal at the pub @Busy-Lizzie.

I can't watch Children in Need either @AuntyRach and @Penny_Forthem - I just end up a teary mess with some of the stories. I too have been keeping in touch with the huge bike ride and I do like to catch the final figure. People are lovely!

Good morning everyone. Whatever activity you have got planned for today I hope its a good one. I think I need to have a serious thought about de-cluttering. I do have this thought fairly frequently and no matter how much stuff I send off to the Charity shop or Ukraine, I can never find the spaces left. Other 'stuff' just seems to expand into it.

                Good Morning all.

I love talking about de-cluttering! One thing I have learned over the years is that it seems human nature to keep stuff. I am surrounded by family members who are firmly in the “that might come in handy one day” camp. Mix that with their sentimental tendencies, classic procrastination and a sprinkle of sheer laziness and we have zero de-cluttering going on!

I am more inclined to de-clutter but it usually is more of a moving things round situation than removal, so not much better really.

                Have a lovely weekend everyone.

                    Good morning all.

I'm in the "that might come in handy one day” camp, @AuntyRach. OH throws things away then wonders where he put them. OH says he likes things tidy but then he doesn't put stuff back where he found it.

Looks grey and gloomy out there again. I have some things to do in the garden but it doesn't look inviting. I may do ironing in front of Bake Off. Kitchen could do with a clean, floor wash, inside cupboards.

I've found that when a good sort-out has taken place and stuff has gone to the Charity shop, I really miss some of the things! Years later I wonder why I let them go...

I have been known to 'rebuy' second hand cookbooks which I mistakenly sent to charity!
It's pretty miserable out there today. However, the Mahonia looks very cheerful and we still have some pinks bravely flowering by the front door.
I need to plant some tulips as their spring replacement. No point going to the local GC, as they're just full of C'mas tat now... and expensive tat, at that!!
Might just browse through Farmer Gracy or Sarah Raven.
                        Have a good day, everyone.

Just a heads up - I bought some bulbs from FG in their end of season sale, searched t'internet for a discount code and got a further £7.50 off.
20 Princess Irene, 20 Queen of the night, 10 mixed hyacinth and 1 amaryllis for £26 plus £5 P & P. Bit of a result!

Hello everyone. Sunny here but very cold and we had a frost!!! Not expecting that for a couple of days so this pm we'll have to move the citrus plants into the polytunnel but first I'll have to pick all the ripe limquats and find a recipe to confit them.

Possum and OH went out on a secret shopping mission this morning and she bemoaned the fact that she's given away a warm lined fleece she used to wear inside the leather coat I bought years ago for just 5€ cos its warm removable lining had gone missing. She's a hoarder for some things but not clothes she's got bored with. She was expecting to find a new coat in Nantes but didn't.....

OH is not a hoarder but is also not good at putting things back in the right place so I have to get creative when looking for some cooking equipment and gardenning and DIY tools. I'm a natural hoarder but am trying to resist that. Even tho we got rid of loads of stuff when we moved here I'm working on getting rid of vases, glasses and dishes we never use and I recently found new home for my oversized ficus plants.

I have tried and failed to clear out my fabric and haberdashery supplies but they are now better organised.

My mahonias have finished flowering - it's been a funny year with all the rain - but I still had dahlia flowers yesterday and pinks and roses and salvias and a hebe in flower.

Good afternoon, just finished lunch, trying to work up the energy to get back out to continue with the mulch. The delivery came just after 9 and he managed to get the skip bag onto the grass so at least we'll be able to get the car back on the drive.
It seems to be good stuff, no big lumps or sticks, quite warm tho. Trouble is, I thought I had cleared and moved everything I needed to but keep seeing more as I go. This is just the front garden, 3 modest size beds. The back will have to wait a few days at least.

                                Good afternoon,

It’s become very dull here now after a brief spell earlier of the sun trying to break through.
We went along to The Methodists Christmas fair today and very nice it was too. We had a delicious turkey and stuffing sandwich and some home made cakes with tea. Bought the usual raffle and tombola tickets but didn’t win anything. There was a very good turnout, so I think they will have raised a fair amount for their funds. Some of them regularly support our C of E fundraising events, so it seems only right to go along to theirs.

I’m not very good at throwing things out, either, although I did have a bit of a sort out last week and found some duvet covers and other bits that we no longer use but are in good condition, to pass on to the charity shop. I really could do with sorting out my clothes cupboard, but find it very hard to let go of items. I must, though, as it’s getting too full. My OH is much better at letting things go than I am.
