I didn't do any of the things I'd thought of doing. OH wanted to go to our local town to pick up a couple of things he'd ordered so I went with him. Then I watched Gardeners' World and had a ham sandwich. After lunch a log delivery arrived. I had to stack them because they were blocking the way out for OH's car.

I have been organising a secret santa gift and Christmas gifts for my cousins. Much as I dislike Amazon, I have resorted to them as a way of easily sending them. I bought my SS a wax covered red Amaryllis; I have never seen them before, but picked one up in the GC this afternoon, for a friend I am seeing next week. Quite unusual, in that they do not need soil or water. Probably good for those who are clumsy with watering!

Good afternoon everyone. It has been a dull and dreary day here too so not much done outside apart from some sorting of materials for the various dustbins. I've done a lot of knitting as well now I've settled for the evening - looking forward to Strictly Blackpool.
Thanks for the heads up about the bulbs @Penny_Forthem. A real bargain there. I have to 'fess up that I have never had much success with tulips though. Oddly enough I was reading about wax 'no water' amaryllis myself the other day. I got a standard, pre planted one in Tesco when I went shopping. Can't wait for the first green tip to show through.
I remember you telling us about the leather coat sans lining the other day @Obelix-Vendée.
Our Christmas Fayre is December 8th @Blue arbour. I will be having a marathon baking session before then. Last year I bought a lot of chocolate coins for 'Santa' to give out to all his visitors. We have a lovely old gent who volunteers every year to be Santa. All he wants is picking up and then dropping off at home afterwards - we can't run to Rudolf and a sleigh though.

            Evening folks.

I’ve had a chill day and just awaiting my Chinese style chicken to cook to have in front of Strictly.

Minimal C’m*s gifts to buy here luckily (various reasons including a family agreement to save our time and money). In December, I will entertain you all with my why I don’t like C’m*s reasons and stories! Too soon yet…

Enjoy Strictly at Blackpool, those who watch. Take care all.

Hello folks, we're just back from an overnight dinner do in Hampshire followed by a lunch today with our car club friends near Devizes. The diet was abandoned for the weekend and I must say it felt good to indulge ourselves a bit - sticky toffee pudding with custard anyone?

We also loved seeing the beautiful beech trees in their autumn glory alongside the roads, all burnt orange and deep gold leaves.

We were surprised to find after lunch that it had been raining and continued to do so until we got home. I'm so tired I could fall asleep now and am certainly not going to cook tonight, might just snack instead.

The beech trees are gorgeous here too @lizzie27 , I think they are my favourites. I love sticky toffee pudding too but I prefer it with cream. Sounds as though you've had a good time.

It's stayed cold but sunny here. I did go out and check the citrus plants and, so far, they're fine so I got on with finishing that jacket - buttonholes and buttons - then shortened a pair of trousers for Possum and sorted out stuff in my sewing room. I need to prepare for a Quilt As You Go workshop I'm doing on Monday am and also for the 2 days of Xmas projects the next two Mondays.

OH has pulled a muscle in his shoulder and has been watching golf on TV for the last few days whilst treating himself with ointments and the heated cherry stone dooberry to try and relax and heal it. I can't move the big pots without his help.

Good luck with the mulching @Allotment Boy. We have plenty to do once OH is back on form.

There were managed beech woods near us in Belgium @lizzie27 and the ones lining the road were copper whilst all the others were green. Fabulous autumn colours and wood anemones then bluebells in spring. Nothing like that here but we do have old mixed woods and bluebells.

OH and I both have birthdays in the next 3 weeks so no talk of Xmas yet!

We do all love STP but I like mine with cream whilst t'other pair have ice cream.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Robbie has been signed off by the vet. Now he can have a bath, bucket has gone. Just waiting for the results of his blood test re. the Cushing Disease. Apparently the vet who was treating him and failed to pick it up has now been researching the condition and boring her colleagues witless every time she discovers a new fact. Hopefully no other animal under her care will have to wait for such a long time for a diagnosis. Rob is definitely improving now, it is just me still recovering!
Today is fully booked as we have the club AGM at mid day. I have been nominated as a trustee for the newly created club. No idea what it might involve but if I am accepted it will be an interesting new experience. My term as a committee member was supposed to end this year but I was asked to continue serving so I said I would do another 12 months to see the completion of the purchase of the land etc.
I went to Par Market yesterday. It was heaving!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting ready for C*******s. I was investigating the purchase of some new mugs for the club house. To try and avoid anyone having a melt down because someone was using their personal mug! I still cannot get my head around the incident. I have bought some plain white, bone china? ones which I will donate and ask everyone to take home any privately owned crockery left at club. If you are going to behave like children you will be treated like children.
I did lay in bed yesterday morning and plan to light my rather large bonfire, unfortunately my neighbour was up and about before me and put a line of washing out, so that was that. This morning is brighter than the last couple of days. Weak sun and broken cloud.

Good morning. Grey here but dry tho that is set to change tomorrow night.

Baking for me this morning but not bread @Ladybird. I'm making an apple and pecan cake for patch tomorrow and then a frittata for lunches - have to do something with all the eggs! We thought they'd slowed down for winter last week till OH found 5 eggs hiding under the wisteria on the veg patch fence. We keep their nesting boxes clean but he's given them a very thorough wash this morning and added some diatomaceous earth to their bedding. I raked some into the polytunnel beds when we cleared them so they could enjoy vigorous dust baths.

Now he's cleaning and preening Sally Zafira for her MOT on Friday - produit to clean her diesel engine, tyres checked and pumped, a bath and vac and all fluids topped up.

We gave everyone named mugs for Xmas a couple of years ago @Goldenlily26 and had a workshop to make padded mug carrying bags but most still forget them. No spare storage space at the room we use so they have to go home. Good news about Rob. I hope he enjoys his bath.

Another lovely photo @Penny_Forthem and your image is very good today @Tui34

Have a peaceful day and some fun if you can

Good afternoon everybody. Great news about Robbie @Goldenlily26, I think I can safely predict a rapid recovery for you too now! I nipped into the village to get a bag of mixed vegetables as I fancied making some soup. It was not a good day to discover that my soup maker has ceased to function correctly. I had to transfer the 'mix' into a pan on my induction hob and them blitz in my blender. After all the faff I do have to say it was worth it as I had a lovely bowl full for my lunch

Afternoon everybody, had a good's night sleep so felt refreshed enough to do some more work on the wonky sleeper bed. Dug up a prostrate rosemary which would have been in the way but also dug up yards and yards of horrible white bindweed roots. I've managed to excavate the top layer of soil away from the back of the topmost sleeper and covered this over with a tarpaulin as we expect rain any minute. Couldn't get OH interested enough to help so called it a day at lunchtime.

That's good news @Goldenlily26, there's just you to recover from the stress now. Good luck with the AGM.

Oh dear, @Ladybird4 , isn't that always the way! Glad you enjoyed your soup eventually.

                                Love your French cards @Tui34.

Goodness @Obelix-Vendée, so many birthdays. December must be a very expensive month for you. It is the one month when we don't have any, my Ex's on the 7th doesn't count any more.
Hope Sally Zafira gets through the MOT/service. Sorry to hear your OH has a shoulder problem, very painful.
