That is an interesting read @AuntyRach. I wonder if it is a subconscious wish for lots of people in these study events to be able to escape!

Yes it could well be @Ladybird4! It was quite ‘pink and fluffy’ today so that’s not everyone’s bag either.

Ok it’s time to make some food. What’s everyone having? (I’m just asking, not offering ;) )

We are having Cottage Pie with peas, my favourite @AuntyRach . Yesterday we had one of OH's favourites, chicken and vegetable curry.

Hello all, late on parade again! We were awake at 4 am so got up and made a pot of tea. Went back to bed and the next we knew it was 9.30 am. So a late breakfast then a dash into the garden
as it was dry and sunny. Decided to plant out my new Phlox 'Famous Light Pink' and depotted hardy Fuchsia 'Garden News' and planted this next to the Phlox. Did a bit of weeding, had a very late lunch then tied in some of the clematis which are shooting fast.
Managed to nearly cut my thumb off with the scissors (wasn't looking at what I was doing!) then seconds later, got my other finger squeezed with wood and secateurs - obviously not safe to be let outside!

Our bins are already full @Ergates so we know the feeling.

@AuntyRach - what are the study topics?

New folks are awesome, fresh thoughts ect.

Anyway, the amount of newcomers hitting all at once did spark curiosity. Perhaps your hint
" thought it better to join an existing chat thread rather than look as if we were importing one from our last home" What was your last home?

          Welcome .

Gardeners World Forum, @redstar. If you haven’t seen the headlines, we were all informed last Wednesday that the forum would be closing with only a week’s notice. I’m not the only one who was devastated. I’ve been ‘chatting’ with some of the regulars for a few years now, and it felt like losing contact with dear friends and family members.
Hopefully it won’t take too long for us to assimilate into the wider GC community, and it’ll seem like we are just some of the regulars! And thanks again for making us so welcome.

No, did not see that information. That is hard on you all. Glad to have you here. I have been on this one for so many years, hard to recall how long.

@redstar somewhere on the gardeners corner forum one of your admin staff said that around 200 new members asked to join last week, all from the Gardeners' World Forum. I had been posting their for 12 years and suddenly we were told it was closing. It was a big shock. The admin staff here have been very welcoming and kind.

@lizzie27 - I’m doing a leadership course but it’s a very modern take on being a leader, centred around supporting and listening to staff. I’m really interested in the wellbeing topic on the course and I hope to raise and promote gardening and being outdoors as a way to improve wellbeing. I’m sure most on here would agree that gardening and gardens have a positive and beneficial outcome for us (when we’re not injuring ourselves or pulling muscles anyway!)

Good morning all. Sunny and windy morning on Adriatic coast. I'll finish my tea, and must go to school (to work, I'm not pupil, but I wish that it's other way round:smile:). As a new member I'm still exploring and learning about this forum, and Thank you all for a very warm welcome. Wish you all a nice day!

                            Good morning all!

Drinking morning coffee, and planning what's most important jobs to do today, it seems I've a choice between 2 weeks worth of ironing, start sowing veg seeds directly in the ground, or doing a bit of baking. Wondering if I'm up for the challenge of having a go at everything?

Whatever you are doing today, have a great one, and remember to have fun along the way x.

Good morning @Ante1 , @Dovefromabove and @Ladybird4 and all to come. It's coffee in bed time for us in SW France. I've just lit the kitchen stove, it's a bit cooler this morning but it should be a sunny day.

My back feels more tender today, maybe because of planting those 2 roses yesterday. I wanted to plant 2 more today. There is weeding to be done too.

Edit - hello @Jenny_Aster , you popped in while I was typing.
