We are safe and have power in this corner of north Wales. One greenhouse panel gone. We haven't dared go down the garden to check on the stream, but there are many roads flooded. Trees are blocking the road to the next village.
We don't need to go out for anything - the dogs will have to make do with the garden.
    Stay safe.

We still have power here too @Penny_Forthem , thank heavens for small mercies. Looking at the sea, it's very choppy so think our usual Sunday beach walk won't happen this week!

Hello everyone. It's nothing like as bad as in the UK and Ireland here but I was kept awake several hours by strong winds and heavy rain in the night. Good to read that Wakers are safe so far. May it stay that way.

OH's birthday today and I've just cooked our usual Saturday brunch with added kidneys as a rare treat. Have to pounce when we spot them. Having seen the forecast we've already decided not to venture out for dinner so I'll be cooking again tonight. He wants lamb ribs, corn on the cob, greens and maybe some smelly roast potatoes and then chocolate fondants which are Possum's speciality.

It's been very dark all morning but the clouds are just starting to break up and I can see some blue to the east and streaks of sunbeams to the south. Far too blowy to be outdoors tho I'd love a walk on a beach. The local lanes are nice enough but will be muddy and I'm still not ready to walk them without the dogs.

@Goldenlily26 I too am amazed that no-one told you about impending bills. Smacks of negligence to me so they should certainly do a deal on both the bill and staggered payments.

        Stay safe and warm everyone.

What do smelly potatoes smell like @Obelix-Vendée ? Happy birthday to your OH.

It has rained quite a lot here, not windy.
We went to the Christmas market. It was packed. There were loads of stalls. I bought a cute picture of 2 rabbits, style Winnie the Pooh, for a granddaughter to go with her other present. Also a couple of Christmassy table decorations and I won a bottle of wine in the tombola and I had a guess at the weight of a cake. We didn't have mulled wine and mince pies as we wanted to sit down and all the places were taken.

This afternoon I've been on the computer ordering presents for 6 of my grandchildren. Thank goodness the older ones want cash!

@Busy-Lizzie, I find it's much easier to give my two cash instead of presies, they're now 16 and 13, so I have no idea of what's in or out these days.
DIL and Gdaughter did brave the storm after all and after a quick cuppa here, I drove them into town to do some shopping and have dinner. They'll get a taxi back. They're hoping the Christmas Market will be open tomorrow, it's still very windy with big gusts so who knows.

It's still banging and crashing out there. Thought it had died down earlier, but nope, still at it.
We are lucky, we have held onto power.
Not sure we will have a lower terrace in the morning, as the stream flooded. Greenhouse is in need of TLC.
However, there's many worse off, so we count ourselves lucky.
I bought g'daughter a painting by numbers kit. They have redecorated her bedroom and she said she has nothing to hang on the walls. She loves painting.
G'son loves constructing things, so he has ROBOTIME ROKR DIY 3D Wooden Puzzle Jigsaw Model Kit Gift Marble Night City LGA01 | eBay
I didn't pay that for it though!

Good evening all. Hope all affected with storm are safe, didn't hear anyone from my WhatsApp group since this morning, except @Busy-Lizzie, but she is in France. This storm will arrive tomorrow to my part of the world, but not so intensive. It will bring rain and snow in the hills. I'm going to make cup of tea, and read.

Good evening all. Had a really busy time today getting the Church Hall ready for the Christmas Fair tomorrow. Got home about 13:15 and the wind was severe - so bad I found it almost impossible to close the boot of my car. Managed it eventually and then the rain started. I was pleased to be home. Fingers crossed it has calmed down by tomorrow. At least the Fair is all indoors. Sorry you missed seeing your daughter @Ergates but I think you did make the right dedcision.

@Penny_Forthem I do hope that your lower terrace hasn't disappeared! I used to love those paintings by numbers kits.

@Busy-Lizzie smelly potatoes are roast with garlic, olive oil and rosemary or cumin depending on the main dish. I usually do them with new potatoes cooked from raw but am now experimenting with later potatoes of the floury kind (we have a lot) and pre-boiled then slightly squashed before roasting in hot, flavoured/spiced olive oil.

It is still blowing a hooly here and we have no storm warnings so I hope everyone in its path is safe and warm and no serious damages.

In that case, @Obelix-Vendée, they are much better then they sound! I sometimes make up a mix of herbs, garlic and olive oil in a freezer bag and toss veg in it before roasting.

Good morning all. Grey but calm morning here. We shall see what will be this afternoon. I'll probably go to the cottage. Wish you all a lovely Sunday, and hope that weather improved.
