I must be unusual, I like ironing. I sit in front of the TV to do it. I find it peaceful and satisfying.

Morning all. Last day to fill the green bin, so I shall be heading out with the loppers to see what needs trimming / removing. When we moved here 20 years ago, there was a hedge of about 30 tall and straggly leylandii . We eventually had them removed, and replaced with a fence, but I still keep finding baby trees sprouting in the area. I can usually pull up the ones I can reach, but some have seeded themselves on the steep slopes, sneakily hidden in the brambles. They will get chopped with an extending pole lopper, along with a few baby beech trees.
When I was younger, I could clamber up the hill like a mountain goat. (Now I feel like an old goat with a creaky back!)
Hope you all cope with today’s trials and tribulations.

I believe you can call yourself what suits you the best, change it under profile > personal details > custom title. I managed to change it to optimistic gardener. Don't know how to change 'the mood' though.

Morning everybody, just having a quick gander on here whilst having a coffee. Going for my monthly back and shoulder massage soon - it's great to keep my back supple and my painful right shoulder at bay. Looks like it might be sunshine soon but will have to limit my activities somewhat when I get back.

Good morning. We have bright sunshine - first time for months I think. It'll get to 18C this pm so I'll be out catching up on my vitamin D and finally pruning the roses - late I know but it's just been too wet to get them done before. Then I can have a bit of a weed and dollop on some manure.

I don't do ironing @Ladybird4 except when I'm sewing new clothes or patchwork. OH does all ours whilst watching sport on TV. Fine by me as golf goes on long enough for him to want to iron duvet covers and pillowcases and even fitted sheets!

Morning all. Tuesday. 33 degrees here in PA. 9AM my time.

Today is Chess Club meet up. We play a few games each. Nice group of folks. Then tonight a trivia P. game at a local pub, same group.
Making my list of things to take down to our airbnb to keep myself spoiled, and to replenish what is needed down there for the cleaners. I have an ongoing inventory, keeping track of guests and what the cleaners are using up for them etc. So I have an ongoing box for stuff to pack into the SUV for the travel. Its an 8 hour drive down, stop for lunch, we each drive 4 hours. I love finding the good southern dinners on the trip. Drive through cotton fields as we get closer. When I am there, I get lots of southern accents from folks and the "yes mam". We have some guests leaving today, seems there were there for the near-by golf course. Next set of guests on Saturday, certainly giving the cleaners good time to clean up etc.

                        Well take care folks. Later.

                          Coming right up :coffee:Dove.
I've made a pot of tea too, if anyone would like one.
I've been a busy bee, a DG, in fact. Wiping windowsills, interior doors, lampshades and tops of picture frames.
Just dinner to prepare, baked potatoes and salad, so easy.

                            Afternoon folks.
A dry day so far, so I have washing out on the line.
Below are photos of my Winter aconites & Siberian squill which have both survived my incompetence. They aren't nearly as nice as those grown by proper gardeners of course, but they are the best that I could do.
Something has self-seeded among the aconites, I'm guessing (and hoping) that it is poppies. However I would very much welcome a proper gardener (such as some nice person reading this) to tell me if I'm right or wrong about that please. (I don't really know much about gardening I'm afraid. :dunno:)
