It was foggy first thing but now the sun is shining and the fog is in the distance. Cold though, there was a small frost. It should warm up a bit by the afternoon so ironing first, gardening later.

Family not coming for tea tonight, as son has a lurgy now. He reckons he picked it up at the Christmas market in Bath on Saturday.
Hub said he fancied going out for lunch, but everywhere is closed round here on a Monday, so we'll go tomorrow. I'm not fussed, as I am out Weds and Thurs and then we're both seeing friends on Friday.
Tesco has arrived...

 

I went to the pharmacy this morning for my vaccinations instead of doing the ironing. Website had said Monday mornings aren't busy. The car park was full and there was a queue. Then I suddenly remembered that I had an appointment at the garage for an MOT and change of summer tyres to winter ones! I went to the garage and she said the MOT wasn't until 2.30pm so it didn't matter that I was late. I had booked a car to borrow for the day. I'll try the pharmacy tomorrow instead.

It's now lovely and sunny so a gardening afternoon. It was cold, frosty and foggy this morning.

Like @Ante1, I'm an hour ahead too, but as I'm a late riser, not a morning person, you probably won't notice.

Just back from a bus ride to Llandudno to get some M&S goodies as no Ocado deliveries for us here. The place was heaving, glad to be back even if it is with a lighter purse

 

Good afternoon everyone, we brought the tree indoors and a decorations from the loft. We decided that we really did need more lights so made a quick dash to a GC, we were beginning to think we were out of luck as we only wanted white ones, NOT flashing or alternate colours etc. We did get some, so just finished lunch with a coffee, then back to the task in hand. The GC car park was busy but it looked like everyone was in the cafe, which is why we came home and had late lunch here.

 

I've had a really relaxing afternoon. I'm doing a pawtrait of a friend's dog and he's such a little sweetie (a kind of Shih Tzu - I had to google how to spell it!!). I'd like to deliver it before Christmas and it's well on the way to being finished.
Hub decorated the tree and walked to the postie to post the cards.
So it's been a very productive day and, as the kids are not coming tonight, we are slumming it with local butcher's sausages, butternut squash 'chips' and cauliflower cheese!

 

No need to worry @Ante1, I'm only jealous because you have that very rare 'golden orb' beaming down on you. So it seems has @Busy-Lizzie. I would be happy if I could just cut a hole in the cloud and let the rays through. Knowing my luck though it would just be more rain I would release! Hope all went well with the MOT @Busy-Lizzie.
Have they had the Victorian market in Llandudno @Bluejayway? I cannot remember what time of year they usually have it but I did go once and it was marvellous.

 

Mmmmm cauliflower cheese @Penny_Forthem! Now you are talking about my favourite accompaniment.

Plenty of prep, shopping, baking and decorating going on between you all. I know I’m the renowned Grinch, but I put some fairy lights up in kitchen today plus I do have a little potted tree and some candles.

How’s your lurgy @Ladybird4? Plenty of hot squash is soothing and hydrating, so that’s my top tip.

Now that’s something I can’t confirm @Ladybird4, we got off the bus outside M&S, did a stressful shop, came out and got back on the bus home, not seen any mention of it anywhere either

 

The lurgy is hanging on in there @AuntyRach but I feel a bit better today thanks for asking. I have got some nice mint and lime cordial so I'll give your tip a whirl.
@Bluejayway, definitely time to put up your feet and have a good rest tonight then after the day you've just had.

 

When I was making the chutneys, I was always asked to go to the Llandudno market, @Ladybird4, but because it was 'only me', I couldn't spare the time. Not sure it's been on recently.
My family were the clever clogs @AuntyRach for managing to pass such a gift on to me. I hope I may be as successful down the line
