Had my thyroid blood test done this morning. Apparently I should have had a repeat of my previous test in March after 3-6 months, but no one had bothered to tell me, and it certainly wasn’t written up on my notes. Just the usual, ‘ satisfactory, no further action’ and ‘ patient informed’ which I certainly hadn’t been!
The interesting thing was having my blood pressure taken, new machine which seemed to take mere seconds, and didn’t squeeze my arm until my hand felt as if it was about to explode.
Does anyone know what type of machine this might be? It would be worth replacing our old noisy one for taking readings at home. Particularly useful for OH who has terrible white coat syndrome!
Went down to the seaside afterwards. Lovely walk on the prom, plus coffee and a cake, and got rid of three bags of stuff to the charity shop. Very pleased about that, they’ve been cluttering up the boot of the car for a couple of weeks, and there were a few items that would be good for last minute presents, or party wear. My days of glittery high heels are definitely over, and I don’t think I actually even wore them outside the house.
Back home to the excitement of putting the recycling bins out.

@Ergates, I bought a cheap BP monitor at the pharmacy in Tesco years back. I think it cost about £15. It is quite quiet in action and easy to use. It is called CIGA although on the actual machine it says SureSign.

I am going to sign out for this evening. The quiz team managed to get someone to take my place tonight and so I don't get withdrawal symptoms I'll be able to do tonight's TV quizzes! Catch you all tomorrow.

Evening all. Last patch club session of the year although everyone is embroidering or knitting at the mo. Jolly atmosphere with lots of chat and laughter. Came home via an sm in Les Sables d'Olonne which has a small selection of furrin wines, proper smoked haddock and, at Xmas, Stilton. I found an Oz Shiraz called Whistling Duck which is appropriate as we have duck on Xmas day. No Stilton!!

It's been warm here at 13C and sunny all pm but I was indoors. Tomorrow, of course, is set to be cloudy with a few sunny spells.

I trust all lurgies are fading and post-ops are healing well. Enjoy the preps for the festivities, even if it's only planning how to hide in Grinch corner.

I gardened in the sunshine this afternoon, then collected my car from the garage. My car passed its MOT and now has winter tyres in case it snows when we go back to Norfolk. I remember the bother we had when there was "the beast from the east" some years ago.

Good morning all. It's same as yesterday, sun is rising, and it will be another lovely day. I might tidy up my front garden when I come back from school and walk with Max. It's full of everything after last few windy days. Now is time to go. Have a nice day and see you all later.

Good morning @Ante1 and all popping by later. Not too long to go now until your Christmas break @Ante1. Max will enjoy his walk with you later. I have some gift wrapping to do today.

Good morning all and Good morning to the early birds @Ladybird4 and @Ante1 I have been up early baking a loaf while the electricity rates are a bit cheaper. The sun starts showing some sense of decency here at around 7.35am if it's going to be a sunny day. Today is cloudy- big puffy ones and it's 6°C - no wind. So it was a bit later when the light started showing.

                      Good morning all,

Starting to get light outside but it looks like it will be another cloudy day.

Like you @Ladybird, I’ve got some gift wrapping to do today whilst OH is out, so will get that done later, along with hand delivering a few more cards.

                      Wishing everyone a pleasant day.

Good morning. It's cold, grey and misty here. Nothing for it, I shall have to make a start on cleaning the windows and doors which all have panes. OH is out playing golf and is keen to get the tree in tomorrow. Then there'll be all the baubles to bring down and sort out and hang.

Good idea @Blue arbour I might just wrap OH's prezzies while he's out.

@Busy-Lizzie in Belgium we put winter tyres on from mid November (usually a heavy snowfall in late Nov) and took them off in March or April depending. The garage stored our tyres for us as part of the service and recommended they stay on later in wet winters and springs as they give better road grip than ordinary tyres. We brought both sets with us but have never needed them here.

I do like the daily photo greetings @Ladybird4 and @Tui34.

Morning. Cold, grey and damp here too @Obelix-Vendée
@Busy-Lizzie, @floralies posted on another thread yesterday.
I have nothing planned for the day, though I must nip to Lidl for a plant to take to my friend on Thursday. She is cooking lunch for us, so it will be a very good one.
I ought to do some wrapping, too!

Hello all! I am still here! I do look in and see what you are all up to, and behaving yourselves of course! Life going on as usual here, weather is up and down and has been very wet with parts of the garden flooded.
Had to take the car in this morning for four new tyres and the accompanying diagnostics! We have a concession car for the day which is handy as OH had to pick up his new glasses. We are driving over to the UK at the end of February so once we get Christmas and New year out of the way we shall prepare for that.
I posted on the other thread yesterday about uses for pumpkins.
