When we moved in together, hub had 2 cats and I had 2 dogs (one of which was said 'rescue') They came eventually to a harmonious agreement, though the cats were always top dog.

@Obelix-Vendée, I think you have been adopted! He is definitely cute - even if the puss cats have had their noses put out of joint

        Good evening all.
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news @Goldenlily26. Sadly, I know that feeling very well.

Foggy and very calm evening. I have my balcony door open, and it's all silent, almost like Christmas Eve. I had rather nice day, but tomorrow my schedule is already packed. After school I'll drive my mum to shopping. She needs few more things for holidays, and it will be it till New Year. Now is time for light dinner and cup of tea.

            Good evening all,

So sorry to read about your dog @Goldenlily26. He seemed to be doing so well, too.

OH and I have been to spend the day with my sister and brother in law. We had a very nice visit and it was good to catch up with our news. She lives about an hour and a half away, and although the traffic was busy, we weren’t held up. The car shook about a bit on some of the higher ground with the gusty wind blowing strongly on the outward journey, but it had calmed down a lot on the return journey. It stayed dry, too, which helped.

Going to have a relaxing evening now and will probably watch Mary Berry shortly to see if she can offer any inspiration for the Christmas cooking.

Dear @Obelix-Vendée, thank you for giving him a warm shelter, temporarily at least.

Hi @Ladybird4, now I'm sure that you have hidden camera in my home. Earl Grey is always near, and sunset was lovely. Now we have sea fog, heavy with strong fragrance of sea.

Dog is certainly making himself at home tho still nervous if asked to go outside, presumably thinking he won't be allowed in again. In that photo he is very comfortably curled up in my bit of the sofa! We have king size patchwork quilts on them as throws while we try and find new ones that are as comfy and have high backs.

He needs another shower or bath and some serious clipping of clumps in his coat to make him comfy. No bites yet on any of the publicity I've done. We'll keep him as long as it takes.

The only worry I have is that he looks like a fox terrier, tho his tail has been docked, and they're not good with other pets, especially cats. However, he's very calm and quiet for now and has finally relaxed enough to sleep for the last 5 hours. I do wonder of he's a hunting dog who's got lost or got too old. He does know about belly rubs tho is not very house-trained.

Time will tell @Obelix-Vendée , he's obviously grateful to have had some food and shelter and feels secure enough with you to go to sleep.

It's good of you to take him in, even if it's only temporary. I don't think we could do it. I do wonder if somebody just chucked him out of a vehicle somewhere.

Whilst talking about dogs, beautiful portrait @Penny_Forthem.

Sorry to hear your news @Goldenlily26 .

We both had "interesting " days. I decided to jet wash the patio, 10 mins into the job the pressure washer sprang major internal leak and stopped working. There is a repair place not far away, a phone call revealed that they would want nearly £180 and a week to fix it, but they had a refurbished one in stock. He would only take cash for the machine but I got it for £200, latest model hope it works out. Finished the job in the afternoon.
My wife was shopping in Sainsbugs, as they hardly ever have a "manned" till available, she has been using the scan and pack system. They always seem to want to do random checks on her but usually they just check a few items. She had some reduced items, but the scanner kept picking up the original price, so because this threw up apparent discrepancies, they wanted to recheck her entire shopping. Eventually she had to get a supervisor to sort out the mess and prove, her scans were correct.
What a waste of time, it would be better if they just staffed a till or two.

The faulty kitchen light tripped the lighting circuit last night. I told the electrician, who says he will come on Saturday. Fingers crossed...

A very good morning one and all. It is absolutely battering down with rain - it was so noisy in the night I thought it might be hail. Another indoor day in the offing. At least the wind had died down as I did have some concerns about my dustbins blowing over before being emptied today.
@Obelix-Vendée can you see yourself keeping this latest addition to the family? He seems to have a nice character (well maybe apart from with the cats?) with all he has allowed you to do to him.
